St Bartholomew's Church, Nettlebed

Nettlebed is a village and civil parish in Oxfordshire in the Chiltern Hills about 4+1⁄2 miles (7 km) northwest of Henley-on-Thames and 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Wallingford. The parish includes the hamlet of Crocker End, about 1⁄2 mile (800 m) east of the village. The 2011 Census recorded a parish population of 727.

Crocker End House in Nettlebed in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England is a spacious Victorian home built to replace Nettlebed's prosperous rectory in about 1870. It was bought by the Duke and Duchess of Kent in December 1989.

Russell's Water is a hamlet about 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Henley-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire. It is in the Chiltern Hills about 620 feet (190 m) above sea level. There is 20th-century and older housing, a village hall, an area of common land called Russell's Water Common to the east and a large duck pond. The pond featured in the 1968 film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and cast members Adrian Hall and Heather Ripley returned to the location for a TV documentary about the making of the film in 2004.

Berrick Trench is a 2.1-hectare (5.2-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Nettlebed in Oxfordshire.This is an ancient semi-natural beech wood on the slope of a dry valley in the Upper Chalk. There are many stools of ash, oak, beech, whitebeam, field maple and hazel. Woodland flowering plants include early purple orchid and early dog-violet.

Highmoor is a village and civil parish in the Chiltern Hills in Oxfordshire, about 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Henley-on-Thames. The parish includes the hamlet of Satwell. The Grade II Listed Church of England parish church of Saint Paul at Highmoor Cross was designed by the architect Joseph Morris of Reading and built by Robert Owthwaite of Henley-on-Thames in 1859 as a chapel of ease by the vicar of Rotherfield Peppard to cater for the wider rural population of the parish. Highmoor later became a separate parish but the church was closed by a pastoral order in June 2012 as a result of a dwindling congregation. The church was then put up for sale by the Diocese of Oxford.Highmoor has two public houses: the Dog and Duck near Highmoor Cross and the Rising Sun at Witheridge Hill. Both are owned by the local Brakspear Brewery. The Dog and Duck closed in December 2011 and the freehold was subsequently put on the market in March 2012 when the brewery was unable to find a new tenant. The pub remains closed as of April 2015. Chris Hollins, an English journalist, presenter and sportsman, lives in Highmoor.

Henley was a rural district in Oxfordshire, England from 1894 to 1974.It was named after the borough of Henley-on-Thames, which it surrounded on the west but did not include. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 from the bulk of the Henley rural sanitary district, with three Buckinghamshire parishes forming a Hambleden Rural District. 1932 saw the district change borders significantly, by annexing Goring Rural District and some of the disbanded Crowmarsh Rural District, whilst losing other parts to the new Bullingdon Rural District. It was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 in 1974, and now forms part of the South Oxfordshire district.

Bix Bottom is a 102.3-hectare (253-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. It is owned and managed as Warburg Nature Reserve by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.This site has ancient woods which are shown on a map of 1786, together with areas of grassy clearings and scrub. More than 500 species of vascular plant have been recorded, including 18 orchids and the rare meadow clary, which is listed in the British Red Data Book of Plants. There are more than 75 bird species and 650 fungi, including many which are nationally rare.The site is open to the public.

Nuffield Place is a country house near the village of Nuffield in the Chiltern Hills in South Oxfordshire, England, just over 4 miles (6 km) east of Wallingford. The house was completed in 1914. Sir William Morris (later created Viscount Nuffield) had it enlarged in 1933 and lived there until his death in 1963. Lord Nuffield was buried at Holy Trinity Parish Church in the village, and bequeathed Nuffield Place and its contents to Nuffield College, Oxford, as a museum. The college later gave the house and part of the estate to the National Trust.Lord Nuffield was fond of clocks and his bedroom contains eight. His bedroom also has a miniature workshop, in a cupboard, containing a vice and metalworking tools, as well as a jar containing Lord Nuffield's own preserved appendix.

Bear, Oveys and Great Bottom Woods is a 64.1-hectare (158-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.This beech woodland has more than 40 species of ground flora which is commonly associated with ancient woods in southern Britain, including broad-leaved helleborine, southern wood-rush, yellow archangel, enchanter's nightshade, goldilocks buttercup, woodruff and the moss Leucobryum glaucum.

Stoke Row is a village and civil parish in the Chiltern Hills, about 5 miles (8 km) west of Henley-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire and about 9 miles (14 km) north of Reading. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 651.

Maidensgrove is a hamlet above the Stonor valley in the Chiltern Hills, adjacent to Russell's Water common. It is about 5 miles (8.0 km) northwest of Henley-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire, England. There is a 16th-century public house called The Five Horseshoes at nearby Upper Maidensgrove. The Chiltern Way and Oxfordshire Way long-distance paths pass close by and the Warburg Nature Reserve is to the south.
