The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (French: Église Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption) is a Roman Catholic church in Stains in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, France. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and listed as a Historic Monument.

Stains (French pronunciation: [stɛ̃] (listen)) is a commune in the Seine-Saint-Denis department, in the northern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 11.6 km (7.2 mi) from the center of Paris.

It is the most northerly station on the Paris Métro system. It serves the University of Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis, as well as the new facility of the National Archives, which is located in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, next to the metro station and bus station.

Paris 8 University Vincennes-Saint-Denis (French: Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis) is a public university in Paris, France. Once part of the historic University of Paris, it is now an autonomous public institution. It is one of the thirteen successors of the world's second oldest academic institution, the University of Paris, and was established shortly before the latter officially ceased to exist on 31 December 1970. It was founded as a direct response to events of May 1968. This response was twofold: it was sympathetic to students' demands for more freedom, but also represented the movement of students out of central Paris, especially the Latin Quarter, where the street fighting of 1968 had taken place.

Garges–Sarcelles is a railway station in Île-de-France. The station is served by the RER D and serves the communes of Garges-lès-Gonesse and Sarcelles. The station is also the terminus of Île-de-France tramway Line 5.

Pierrefitte-sur-Seine (French pronunciation: [pjɛfit syʁ sɛn] (listen), literally Pierrefitte on Seine) is a commune in the Seine-Saint-Denis department and Île-de-France region of France. Today forming part of the northern suburbs of Paris, Pierrefitte lies 12.4 km (7.7 mi) from the centre of the French capital.

Garges-lès-Gonesse (French pronunciation: [ɡaʁʒ lɛ ɡɔnɛs] (listen), literally Garges near Gonesse) is a commune in the Val-d'Oise department in northern France. It is located in the northern suburbs of Paris, 14.1 km (8.8 mi) from the center of Paris. The city is a part of the Paris urban area. It is the seat of the canton of Garges-lès-Gonesse, which also covers Arnouville. The city is strongly urbanized and is near to Paris–Le Bourget Airport. Garges-lès-Gonesse was transformed from an old rural village to a suburb at the beginning of the 20th century.

Fort de l'Est is a military strong point designed to protect Paris. It was built between 1841 and 1843 in Saint-Denis at the direction of French prime minister Adolphe Thiers, and was part of an immense defensive belt comprising 17 detached forts and the Thiers Wall surrounding Paris. The evolution of artillery quickly made these fortifications obsolete. The fort is still used by the French Army. Units associated with the fort include a number of reserve units and the headquarters of the National Association of Reserve Warrant Officers. French Foreign Legion units associated with Operation Vigipirate are also stationed at Fort de l'Est. The northeast bastion of the formerly four-sided fort was removed to make way for the A1 autoroute, from which the fort is visible, and faces the Lycée Suger secondary school, built in 1994. The military files concerning military insubordinations of World War I in the French Army are preserved there, as well as some unclassified files from the library of the former garrison. The glacis of the fort is partly occupied by community gardens.
