Rhondda Sports Centre is a leisure centre located in Gelligaled Park, Ystrad, in the Rhondda valley, Wales. The centre underwent a major £6 million refurbishment in 2008 and is operated by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.

Craig Pont Rhondda is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Llwynypia, Rhondda, south Wales. The Countryside Council for Wales states that the site has been categorised as a Site of Special Interest because it "...is the largest remaining broadleaved woodland in the valley of the Rhondda Fawr. The dominant tree is Sessile Oak, some stands of which have been coppiced in the past. Other trees include ash, birch, and hazel, with stands of alder in the wetter places."

Ystrad (also known as Ystrad Rhondda or Ystrad-Rhondda) is a village and community (and electoral ward) in the Rhondda Fawr valley, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales.

Nebo, Ystrad Rhondda was the first Baptist chapel in the Rhondda Valleys. Founded in 1786, and known as Ynysfach, its first minister was one Thomas Edwards. The name was changed to Nebo in the early part of the nineteenth century. Nebo was the mother church to numerous other chapels in the valley including Hebron, Ton Pentre in 1868, and Noddfa, Treorchy which subsequently became much larger than Nebo in terms of membership. With the industrialisation of the valley it was rebuilt and extended in 1857 and again in 1876. Its membership peaked at 318 in 1905, in the immediate aftermath of the Welsh Revival. By 1940 the membership had fallen to 132, with a further sharp decline to 62 by 1945. Garfield Eynon became Nebo's last minister in 1953 and the church was without a minister after his departure in 1962. Nebo closed in the early 1980s and the chapel was subsequently demolished. A short portion of the boundary wall and fence remains in situ.Some housing was later built adjacent to the site, which was named Nebo Estate.

Rhondda (Welsh: Y Rhondda) was a local government district in the geographical area of the Rhondda Valley, south Wales. The district was initially created as Ystradyfodwg Local Government District from parts of Ystradyfodwg, Llanwonno and Llantrisant parishes, Glamorgan, in 1877, when the Local Government Act 1858 was adopted. A local board was formed to govern the area. The Local Government Act 1894 reconstituted the area as Ystradyfodwg Urban District, with an elected urban district council replacing the local board. It was renamed Rhondda Urban District in 1897 after the River Rhondda. In 1955 Rhondda received a charter of incorporation to become the Municipal Borough of Rhondda.The Local Government Act 1972 completely reorganised local government in Wales in 1974. The Borough of Rhondda, with an identical area to the municipal borough, was one of six local government districts of the new county of Mid Glamorgan from 1974 to 1996. The borough was abolished in 1996, with its area passing to the unitary Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough.

Cynon Valley (Welsh: Cwm Cynon) is a constituency of the Senedd. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. It is also one of eight constituencies in the South Wales Central electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to eight constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Cynon Valley (Welsh: Cwm Cynon) is a former coal mining valley in Wales. Cynon Valley lies between Rhondda and the Merthyr Valley and takes its name from the River Cynon. Aberdare is located in the north of the valley and Mountain Ash is in the south of the valley. According to the 2001 census, the Cynon Valley has a population of 63,512. In 2001 12.1% of the inhabitants were recorded as Welsh speakers. In common with some of the other South Wales Valleys, Cynon Valley had a high percentage of Welsh speakers until the early 20th century.

Llwynypia railway station is a railway station serving the town of Llwynypia in Wales. It is located on the Rhondda Line. It was first opened on this site by the Taff Vale Railway in 1863. or 1871.

Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda (English: Rhondda Valley Hospital) is a health facility on Partridge Road, Llwynypia, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is managed by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
