Chaplain Schmitt Island

Q Casino (formerly Mystique and Dubuque Greyhound Park & Casino) is a casino located in Dubuque, Iowa. It also was a greyhound race track until racing ceased there on May 15, 2022. The facility is operated by the non-profit Dubuque Racing Association, its license holder. It is a member of the Iowa Gaming Association, and shares a gaming license with the Diamond Jo Casino, also in Dubuque. Beginning operations on June 1, 1985, the track became a full-service casino following the introduction of table games in 2005. Q Casino is located on Chaplain Schmitt Island, near the Mississippi River. The casino, along with attractions in the Port of Dubuque and Downtown Dubuque, have helped to create a large and growing tourism market in Dubuque.

Lake Peosta Channel, or simply Lake Peosta or Peosta Channel, is a branch of the Mississippi River in Dubuque, Iowa. It separates Chaplain Schmitt Island from the mainland. Flooding events have built up a ridge of sediment near the mouth of the channel as a result of silting. In 1875, Lake Peosta Channel was where modern Kerper Boulevard is. US 151/61 crosses the channel. In 1948, Lake Peosta Channel had its dams removed. Petitions were floated to force the city to remove them. In the 1950s, a boat harbor was dredged out from Lake Peosta Channel.

The Bee Branch Creek, formerly known as Couler Creek, is a tributary of the Mississippi River found in Dubuque, Iowa. The creek starts in the west of Dubuque before flowing into the Couler Valley and then into the downtown, flowing through multiple detention basins along the way. Due to the creek's involvement in many disasters, particularly floods, the Bee Branch Creek has become an interest for Dubuque. After restoration projects, the creek has become a daylighted stream with parks and trails along its banks. It has been estimated to have prevented millions of dollars in damages. The Bee Branch has also been involved with numerous ecological projects. Despite being recently daylighted, the Iowa DNR diagnosed the creek with a healthy ecosystem.

The Dubuque–Wisconsin Bridge is a steel bowstring arch automobile bridge connecting Dubuque, Iowa, with still largely rural Grant County, Wisconsin, over the Mississippi River. It is one of two automobile bridges in the Dubuque area, the other being the Julien Dubuque Bridge, which is located about three miles (4.8 km) south. The bridge is a four lane, limited access bridge and is part of US Highway 61/US Highway 151 (US 61/US 151). This bridge replaced the older Eagle Point Bridge that previously served as the connection between Dubuque and Wisconsin.

The Dubuque Rail Bridge carries a single rail line across the Mississippi River between Dubuque, Iowa, and East Dubuque, Illinois, near river mile 580. It is currently operated by Canadian National Railway as a result of their 1999 purchase of Illinois Central Railroad.

The Mathias Ham House is a 19th-century house in Dubuque, Iowa that is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located at the intersection of Shiras and Lincoln Avenues, near the entrances to Eagle Point Park and Riverview Park.

The Shot Tower located in Dubuque, Iowa, is one of the last remaining shot towers in the United States. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a recognized symbol of the city. At its location near the Mississippi River, the Tower can be seen from the riverwalk and is currently undergoing extensive renovations. It stands 120 feet 5 inches (36.70 m) tall.

The Dubuque Star Brewery, located in Dubuque, Iowa, is a building that for many years made Dubuque Star beers. The brewery is located just north of the Ice Harbor in Dubuque. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Dubuque Intermodal Transportation Center (DITC) is a bus station located in Dubuque, Iowa. It serves as the new transfer center for Dubuque's bus system, between Jule buses and intercity buses serving Dubuque, and as a transfer point between other modes of land transportation.The center was intended to be the western terminal of the Black Hawk, a Chicago–Rockford–Dubuque Amtrak intercity rail route. The city of Dubuque received an $8 million FTA state of good repair grant in addition to grants from several area institutions to go towards phase 1 of the center's construction. Phase 2 was planned to be funded by a TIGER V grant. That grant application failed, but alternative funding came from several other sources. On April 10, 2014, a new proposal for Amtrak service to terminate in Rockford was announced following the inability of the state of Illinois to reach a deal with the Canadian National Railway for use of their tracks. Due to the new proposal, the train station component of the center was placed on hold until a deal could be reached with the CN. The city of Dubuque broke ground on the rest of the DITC project in May 2014. The center, except for the train station portion, opened on August 17, 2015.

The Grand River Event Center is a convention center located in Dubuque, Iowa. It is on the riverfront of the Mississippi River, and is part of the America's River Campus at the Port of Dubuque. The center is located at 500 Bell Street. Designed by Populous, the center has about 86,000 square feet (8,000 m²) of space for meetings, conferences, and other social functions. It is designed to accommodate groups ranging in size from 10 to 3,000. There are 12 flexible spaces that can be used for meetings and other functions. The most striking feature of the building is the "River Room," a special glass-walled room that overlooks the Mississippi river. The building is connected by a skywalk to the Grand Harbor Resort & Waterpark, which is adjacent to the events center. The center offers a number of services - such as high speed internet, catering, and underground parking. During the 2004 Presidential campaign, President George W. Bush appeared in two campaign events that were held at the center.

The Port of Dubuque (also known as the Ice Harbor, 4th Street Peninsula, or the Riverfront) is the section of downtown Dubuque, Iowa, USA, that is immediately adjacent to 579.4 mile to the Mississippi River. The area was among the first areas settled in what became the City of Dubuque, and the State of Iowa. Historically, the area has been a center of heavy industry, but has recently seen extensive reinvestment and new construction. The area is now one of the main tourist destinations in Dubuque, as well as Iowa. The Port of Dubuque includes all of the area that lies north of the CCPR rail yards, south of East 9th Street and Dove Harbor, east of the CCPR/ICER railroad tracks, and west of the Mississippi River. It is divided into two main sections: the North Port and the South Port, which are separated by the Ice Harbor. The Port area is separated from Downtown Dubuque's central business district by a double set of railroad tracks and an expressway that carries U.S. highways 151 and 61. The North Port can be accessed via East 5th Street, or the East 3rd Street overpass, while the South Port is accessible from Jones Street, or Ice Harbor Drive—which connects the two ports together. As of 2006, all of the redevelopment in the area has occurred in the North Port, and the South Port remains largely industrial or underutilized. This may be due to the anticipated construction of a new Mississippi river bridge, which will be built in the near future, alongside the Julien Dubuque Bridge.

The Metz Manufacturing Company is a historic building in Dubuque, Iowa, United States. The company was established as Hagge and Metz by John Hagge and Louis Metz in 1898. They were a planing mill that produced sashes, doors, blinds, frames, moldings, and stair work for large private and public buildings. The company name was changed to Metz Manufacturing in 1902. The following year they moved to this building. The three-story brick structure built over a raised stone basement was constructed sometime before 1900. It was acquired by Metx LLC in 2017 and renovated into an office building with the first tenant moving in in 2019. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.
