The airport opened in 1930. It is currently run by the City of Danbury under the management of Michael Safranek. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a regional reliever airport facility.The Reliant Air building burned down on the evening of September 12, 2007. The hangar was located on the northeast side of the airport. It has since been rebuilt and Reliant Air continues in business.

It is located in the western part of the city, bordering Mill Plain to the north and west at Lake Kenosia and the town of Ridgefield, Connecticut to the southwest. The William O'Neill Athletic and Convocation Center (O'Neill Center) is an 80,000-square-foot (7,400 m2) multi-purpose athletic complex, at Western Connecticut State University, in Danbury, Connecticut. Named after William O'Neill, the O'Neill Center was completed in 1995 and has since been home to WestConn's basketball and volleyball teams. The 4,500-seat arena can also be used for concerts, shows, and other public events. Bob Dylan kicked off his Paradise Lost Tour at the arena on December 7, 1995.

Westside Middle School Academy is a middle school located in the city of Danbury, Connecticut, United States. The school has approximately between 715 and 750 students from grade 6 to grade 8. The school offers various sports for all grades such as basketball and soccer as well as track and field. There is also a band and engineering program. The school also has an official health center. After graduation, students move on to Danbury High School, Henry Abbott Technical High School and other options. The school is split into two academies, STEM and Global Studies which offers students different classes making the school extremely versatile. It is the only school in the Danbury Public Schools district that uses a lottery to select students into the school.

Danbury Fair (also referred to as Danbury Fair Mall) is an upscale shopping mall located in Danbury, Connecticut. As of 2011, it is the second largest shopping mall in Connecticut, as well as the fifth largest in New England. It is located off of Interstate 84 and U.S. Route 7 opposite the Danbury Municipal Airport. The mall currently features Macy's, JCPenney, Primark, and Dick's Sporting Goods.

WXCI (91.7 FM) is a student radio station broadcasting an educational format. Licensed to Danbury, Connecticut, United States, the station serves the Danbury area. The station is owned by Western Connecticut State University. WXCI broadcasts to Connecticut and New York at 3,000 watts with a stereo transmitter on WCSU's Westside Campus, while the actual studio is located on the Midtown campus. It also streams its broadcasts on the Web.

Mill Plain is an unincorporated area in the City of Danbury, Connecticut, United States. It is located in the westernmost part of the city, bordering the town of Southeast, New York.

Mill Plain was a station on the main line of the New York and New England Railroad and later the Maybrook Line of the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad. Opened in 1881, the station was originally located in the Mill Plain area in the western part of Danbury, Connecticut. The station was closed in 1928 and served multiple purposes from 1930 until 2018. The station building was restored and moved to the Danbury Railway Museum in 2019.

Pine Mountain Reserve is a 368 acre open space in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The space has many trails, trail heads and also one of Ridgefield's highest points, at 1,021 feet (311 m) above sea level.

Beckettville is a neighborhood in the City of Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. This section is located on the western side of Danbury, with Westville Avenue as its main thoroughfare. It is named after the Beckett family, former residents of the area.
