Naardermeer

Naarderbos is a recreational area in the Gooi region in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. It is situated on the shores of the Gooimeerlake and is part of the city of Naarden. It consists partly of woodland and meadows and has a villa closed community also referred to as "Naarderwoonbos". This community consists of approx. 180 villas, which each having its own boat pier as well as a public 18 hole golf course. A beach was created and 3 urban villas were erected during 2007. The Naarderbos is a forest that was planted in 1980. It is a recreation park and some facilities such as golf and beaches are available. The Naarderbos consists mostly of oak, chestnut and beech-wood trees and it has many paths for walking, as well as picnic areas. The Naarderbos is about 20 km southeast of Amsterdam. Naarderbos also has a wild variety of animals. There have been sightings of moles, snakes, ferrets and a variety of bird species. There is a family of storks that live there and visit during the summer and there is also an overpopulated species of wild brown rabbits. There is also a hotel located nearby, only about 550 meters away from the new beach.

Hakkelaarsbrug is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Gooise Meren, and lies about 6 km northwest of Bussum.Hakkelaarsbrug is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Muiderberg. It has no place name signs and consists of about 40 houses.It was first mentioned in 1617 as Hackelaers brug, and is named after the former toll bridge. The etymology of the name is unclear. The location was notable earlier, because Floris V, Count of Holland was killed at Hakkelaarsbrug in 1296 by angry peasants.

The Hollandse Brug is a bridge structure that crosses the Gooimeer and the IJmeer in the Netherlands. The bridge carries both the Flevolijn heavy rail railway and the A6 motorway, plus a cycleway and footway.

Naarden-Bussum is a railway station in the north of Bussum, Netherlands that also serves the neighboring community of Naarden. The station has one standard platform and one island platform. It has a total of four tracks, of which one track is for passing trains only. The station was opened on 10 June 1874. The station is on the Amsterdam - Hilversum - Amersfoort line, known as the Gooilijn. The station was also used as a tram station for the Bussum - Huizen tram service from 1883 to 1958.

The Dutch Fortress Museum (Nederlands Vestingmuseum) is located in the city of Naarden, The Netherlands. The Museum was established by volunteers in 1955 at bastion Turfpoort, one of six bastions that give the walled city its distinctive star shape. (During World War II, allied bombers returning to Great Britain from bombing missions used it as a marker.) The fortifications themselves, including the bastions, date from the period 1575-1585, when King Philip II of Spain ordered them to be constructed. The museum includes exhibits on the history of fortification, garrison life, the Dutch Water Line, and the history of the city of Naarden-Vesting. The exhibits are housed in rooms in four casemates; because the casemates consist of a thick layer of earth, temperatures in the rooms are relatively stable, being warm in winter and cool in summer. Above ground, the museum also contains a collection of guns from the 19th Century.

The Massacre of Naarden was an episode of mass murder and looting that took place in the Dutch city of Naarden during the Eighty Years' War. The massacre was committed by Spanish soldiers under the command of Fadrique Álvarez de Toledo against the townspeople of Naarden as part of a punitive expedition against Dutch rebels later known as the Spanish Fury. The destruction of the city galvanized the Dutch rebels, leading them to continue the Dutch War of Independence against Spain.

Ankeveen is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies about 5 km west of Bussum. The village was first mentioned in 1344 as Tankenveen, and means "peat excavation of Tanke (person)". Ankeveen is a stretched out peat concession village.The buitenplaats Berg en Vaart was built near Ankeveen between 1779 and 1782 by an Amsterdam wine merchant. It is surrounded by a large park designed in the 18th century.West of the village, there is a fen area, the Ankeveense Plassen which is a result of the peat excavation in the area.Until 1966, Ankeveen was a separate municipality. In 2002, it became part of the municipality of Wijdemeren.

Muiderberg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌmœydərˈbɛr(ə)x]) is a village in the municipality of Gooise Meren in the Netherlands. It lies about 6 km north of Bussum and 2 km west of Naarden, adjacent to the Naarderbos.

Bussum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbʏsʏm] (listen)) is a commuter town and former municipality in the Gooi region in the south east of the province of North Holland in the Netherlands near Hilversum. Since 2016, Bussum has been part of the new municipality of Gooise Meren. Bussum had a population of 33,595 in 2019 and covered an area of 8.15 km2 (3.15 sq mi).

Gooise Meren (pronounced [ˈɣoːi̯sə ˈmeːrə(n)]) is a municipality in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands. It has about 56,000 inhabitants and covers an area of about 77 km2 (30 sq mi). Gooise Meren has existed since 2016. It is a merger of the former municipalities of Bussum, Muiden, Muiderberg and Naarden. Eastern (Naarden area) and southern part (Bussum area) of the municipality lie within the Gooi region, western part (Muiden area) lies within the Vechtstreek region. The very northern part of the Utrecht Hill Ridge, lake Naardermeer and artificial island Pampus are situated within its boundaries. Gooise Meren borders in the northwest on lake IJmeer, in the northeast on lake Gooimeer. The Vecht river empties into the IJmeer at Muiden, and also the northern end of the former Hollandic Water Line ends in Muiden.

Restaurant Soigné is a restaurant in Bussum, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 2010 and has retained that rating until the present.In 2013, GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 13 out of 20 points.The head chef of Soigné is Dennis Jong, former senior sous chef of La Rive. The maître is Frank Velthuyse. They have owned the restaurant since 2007.The restaurant is located in a building that formerly housed the restaurant Negliche. This restaurant was in 2006 sold to Sidney Heinze, former head chef of Tante Koosje. Heinze changed the name of the restaurant in Soigné, but sold the restaurant a year later.
