Naardermeer is a freshwater lake and nature reserve near Naarden in North Holland, Netherlands. It is managed by Natuurmonumenten and was the first area acquired by the Dutch Society for Nature Conservation in 1905. The area was designated a Natura 2000 site in 2013 and received the European Diploma for Protected Areas in 2005. Covering about 1,150 to 1,180 hectares, Naardermeer consists of open water, reed beds, swamp forests, and wet meadows. It supports bird species such as the purple heron, black tern, great cormorant, and several types of warblers. A marked 17-kilometre walking route surrounds the lake.
