Afon Brân (Llangadog)

Llangadog railway station serves the village of Llangadog near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. The station is on the Heart of Wales Line 36+1⁄2 miles (59 km) north east of Swansea. The station is located at street level at Station Road beside the River Brân. The Garn Goch Iron Age hill fort is about three miles away from this station. All trains serving the station are operated by Transport for Wales. Like several others on the line, it has an automated half barrier level crossing at one end (in this case the northern one). The barrier sequence for northbound trains has to be initiated by the train crew, so the booked stop here for these is a mandatory one. Southbound trains trigger the crossing using a treadle on approach, so only have to stop here on request.

Llansadwrn (; Welsh: [ɬanˈsadʊn]; ) is a small village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Llangadog () is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales, which also includes the villages of Bethlehem and Capel Gwynfe. A notable local landscape feature is Y Garn Goch with two Iron Age hill forts.Llangadog was the administrative centre of the commote of Perfedd and had a castle, destroyed in 1204. Although the borough declined in the Middle Ages, Llangadog retained its market, which was frequented by drovers into the 19th century. The railway station on the Heart of Wales Line provides regular train services via Transport for Wales Rail. The station had a siding for accessing the Co-op Wholesale Society creamery, allowing milk trains to access the site. After railway access was ceased in the late 1970s, the creamery continued to operate until 2005, when it closed with the loss of 200 jobs. The site has since been redeveloped as a pet food factory.

On 19 October 1987, a train on the Heart of Wales line derailed and fell into the River Towy due to the partial collapse of the Glanrhyd Bridge near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. Four people died as a result of the tragedy; the driver and three of the passengers drowned.

Bethlehem is a tiny farming village in the county of Carmarthenshire, Wales, lying in the Tywi Valley northeast of Llandeilo and southwest of Llangadog but on the opposite side of the river from the busy London to Haverfordwest road, the A40. The centre of the village is approximately in front of the six houses opposite the village hall, with other houses, the Primary School, and a former Post Office scattered up and down the hill. The Nonconformist chapel after which the village was named is on a side road that follows the western edge of the Brecon Beacons.

Llanwrda railway station serves the village of Llanwrda near Llandovery, Carmarthenshire. Opened by the Vale of Towy Railway in 1858, the station is on the Heart of Wales Line 38+1⁄4 miles (61.6 km) north east of Swansea. The station is located below street level at the end of a lane opposite the A40 that leads to the centre of the village (just under 1⁄2 mile (0.80 km) away on the other side of the A40). All trains serving the station are operated by Transport for Wales.

Y Garn Goch is a hill in the Brecon Beacons National Park in the east of Carmarthenshire, Wales. The name means the 'red cairn'. It lies near the village of Bethlehem, three miles southwest of Llangadog and four miles east of Llandeilo on the southern side of the broad Towy Valley. It is also commonly known as either Garn Goch or Carn Goch. Current owners and land managers are the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority.

Llanwrda ([ɬanʊrˈda] ) is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales, 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of Llandovery. It lies on the River Towy. The population in 2011 was 514.
