Badger Farm is a suburb to the south of the city of Winchester in the English county of Hampshire, England. It is also a civil parish in the local government district of the City of Winchester. The area was developed in the 1970s and 1980s, and became a parish in 1985. The development of Badger Farm was the subject of the revised Badger Farm Development brief, 1978, produced by Winchester City Council. This laid down the standards for roads, open spaces and housing. Before the development began, the Badger Farm development area was split between two parishes and two city wards. According to the 2001 census Badger Farm had a population of 2,489. The parish is named after William Badger, who was once a tenant farmer on the site. John O'Loughlin owned the land

The Green Jackets Ground is a cricket ground in St Cross, Winchester, Hampshire. The ground was first used in 1859, when Winchester Garrison played I Zingari. The ground is currently owned by the trustees of the nearby ancient Hospital of St Cross and lies next to water meadows of the River Itchen. The ground was first leased to the Rifle Brigade and since 1885 it has been leased to the Green Jackets Club. Only one first-class match was played at the ground, which saw Hampshire play Sussex in 1875. Sussex were dismissed in their first-innings for 206, with Hampshire being dismissed for just 60 in their first-innings and were made to follow-on in their second-innings, making a total of just 119. Sussex therefore winning by an innings and 27 runs. The original wooden cricket pavilion at the ground dated from 1886, but was destroyed by fire and a replacement built in 1970. For many years, the ground has played host to the Southern Counties Archery Championship, in which thirteen counties are represented. St Cross Symondians Cricket Club use the ground as their home venue.

Franciscan Friary, Winchester was a friary dedicated to St. Francis in Hampshire, England. It was founded by Albert of Pisa in 1237 and dissolved in 1538. There are no remains but the location is thought to have been somewhere between Lower Brook Street and Middle Brook Street.

Stanmore is a large residential suburb of Winchester, Hampshire, England, situated on a very steep slope from West to East. It lies to the south-west of the city centre and to the north of Badger Farm, and makes up a large percentage, in both area and population, of the St. Luke electoral ward. It is home to roughly 6,000 inhabitants.

The Hospital of St Cross and Almshouse of Noble Poverty is a medieval almshouse in Winchester, Hampshire, England. It has been described as "England's oldest and most perfect almshouse". Most of the buildings and grounds are open to the public at certain times. It is a Grade I listed building.

The Hockley Railway Viaduct is a disused railway viaduct to the south of Winchester in Hampshire, England.

St Faith's Church was the parish church of St Cross, a village just south of Winchester, Hampshire, England. It was situated on the northern side of what is now Kingsgate Road at its junction with what is now St Cross Road. The church's graveyard is still there today. The church was demolished in 1507, and St Cross Church, part of the Hospital of St Cross, became the parish church.

West Downs School, Romsey Road, Winchester, Hampshire, was an English independent preparatory school, which was established in 1897 and closed in 1988.

The Winchester Hoard is a hoard of Iron Age gold found in a field in the Winchester area of Hampshire, England, in 2000, by a retired florist and amateur metal detectorist, Kevan Halls. It was declared treasure and valued at £350,000—the highest reward granted under the Treasure Act 1996 at that time. The hoard consists of two sets of jewellery of a very high purity of gold dating from 75 to 25 BCE. Although, the items pre-date the Roman conquest of Britain in 43 CE, the manufacturing technology was Roman rather than Celtic. The total weight of the items is nearly 1,160 g (41 oz). The find was described as "the most important discovery of Iron Age gold objects" for fifty years; and the items were probably an "expensive", "diplomatic gift". The brooches alone were "the third discovery of its kind from Britain". The Winchester Hoard is now housed at the British Museum in London.

Blue Apple Theatre is a theatre company based in Winchester, England. It was founded in 2005 by Jane Jessop to support the inclusion of actors with intellectual disabilities on mainstream stages. In May 2012, six Blue Apple actors toured a re-imagining of William Shakespeare's Hamlet around the south of England. They were the first actors with Down syndrome to perform the play professionally. In 2016 members of the company, four with Down syndrome, performed scenes from Shakespeare on stage in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at the Globe Theatre in London. In June 2012, Blue Apple Theatre was named as the 1000th winner of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of the efforts of its voluntary staff.

Hockley Meadows is a 9-hectare (22-acre) nature reserve south of Winchester in Hampshire. It is managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. It is part of the River Itchen SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and Special Area of Conservation.This site has water meadows, a stream, willow carr, reedbeds and grassland, which is maintained by cattle grazing. There are brown trout in the stream and flowering plants include southern marsh orchids, water avens and cuckoo flowers.

The Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester is a District General Hospital serving much of central Hampshire. It is owned and run by the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is commonly abbreviated to RHCH, or alternatively, Winchester Hospital as it is the only open NHS hospital in Winchester.α
