The Macau Government Headquarters (Chinese: 澳門特別行政區政府總部; Portuguese: Sede do Governo da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau da República Popular da China), formerly Governor's Palace (Portuguese: Palácio do Governador) is the official office of the Chief Executive of Macau and has been since 1999. It is located in São Lourenço.

The Fort Nossa Senhora do Bom Parto (Forte da Nossa Senhora do Bom Parto in Portuguese) is a former fort of the Portuguese Empire located in Penha Hill in Macau, China. It was among the first forts built by the Portuguese in Macau, erected between 1608 and 1615. It participated in the defense of Macau when the Dutch East India Company attacked city during the Battle of Macau in 1622. It was erected on grounds owned by Augustinian friars. It defended thesouthern coast of Macau together with the Fort São Francisco and the Battery of São Pedro (demolished in the 1930s) and the Inner Harbour together with the Fort São Tiago da Barra. It was rebuilt in 1775 (during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty) and eight cannon were installed there.Abandoned in 1892, it was subsequently incorporated in the Hotel Bela Vista, and currently part of the official residence of the General Consul of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong.It is currently a classified monument by the government of Macau.

Macau or Macao (English: ; Portuguese: [mɐˈkaw]; Chinese: 澳門, Cantonese: [ōu.mǔːn]), officially the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (MSAR), is a city and special administrative region of China in the western Pearl River Delta by the South China Sea. With a population of about 680,000 and an area of 32.9 km2 (12.7 sq mi), it is the most densely populated region in the world. Formerly a Portuguese colony, the territory of Portuguese Macau was first leased by the Ming dynasty to Portugal as a trading post in 1557. Portugal paid an annual rent and administered the territory under Chinese sovereignty until 1887. Portugal later gained perpetual colonial rights in the Sino-Portuguese Treaty of Peking. The colony remained under Portuguese rule until 1999, when it was transferred to China. Macau is a special administrative region of China, which maintains separate governing and economic systems from those of mainland China under the principle of "one country, two systems". The unique blend of Portuguese and Chinese architecture in the city's historic centre has resulted in its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005.Originally a sparsely populated collection of coastal islands, Macau, often referred to as the "Las Vegas of the East", since the late 20th century has become a major resort city and a top destination for gambling tourism. Its gambling industry is seven times larger than that of Las Vegas. The city has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world, US$43,770 in 2021, and its GDP per capita by purchasing power parity is one of the highest in the world.It has a very high Human Development Index, as calculated by the Macau government, and the fourth-highest life expectancy in the world. The territory is highly urbanised; two-thirds of the total land area is built on land reclaimed from the sea.

The Mandarin's House (Chinese: 鄭家大屋; Portuguese: Casa do Mandarim) is a historic residential complex in São Lourenço, Macau. It was the residence and family home of the late Qing theoretician and reformist Zheng Guanying (1842–1921). He completed his masterpiece Shengshi Weiyan (Words of Warning in Times of Prosperity) in the house. The Mandarin's House occupies an area of 4,000 square metres (43,000 sq ft) and is among the largest family houses in Macau.

St. Lawrence's Church (Chinese: 聖老楞佐堂; Portuguese: Igreja de São Lourenço) is one of the oldest churches in Macau, China. It is located on Rua de São Lourenço, opposite Instituto Salesiano. The church was first built before 1560 by the Jesuits. It was later rebuilt in 1846. The present church is a neoclassical structure with a yellow exterior. The interior of the church is decorated with ornate pillars and chandeliers. Aside from it being a place of worship for Catholics in Macau, St. Lawrence's Church is also a popular tourist destination.

São Lourenço is a civil parish (Portuguese: freguesia) of Macau. It is located in the southwestern of Macau Peninsula and named after Lawrence of Rome. This parish was one of five in the former Municipality of Macau, one of Macau's two municipalities that were abolished on 31 December 2001 by Law No. 17/2001, following the 1999 transfer of sovereignty over Macau from Portugal to China. While their administrative functions have since been removed, these parishes are still retained nominally. It was surrounded by water on all sides except north and Southeast. It neighbours Freguesia da Sé. Penha Hill and Barra Hill (媽閣山) are to the south. The Portuguese governor building and current administrative buildings are located here. The Our Lady of Penha Chapel (Chinese: 西望洋聖堂; Portuguese: Capela de Nossa Senhora da Penha) is a church in Penha Hill, São Lourenço, Macau, China.

The Dom Pedro V Theatre (Chinese: 伯多祿五世劇; Portuguese: Teatro Dom Pedro V) is a historical theatre situated at Largo de Santo Agostinho in São Lourenço, Macau, China. It is one of the first western-style theatres in East Asia. The theater is an important landmark in the region and remains a venue for important public events and celebrations today.

The Historic Centre of Macao (Portuguese: Centro Histórico de Macau, Chinese: 澳門歷史城區) is a collection of over twenty locations that witness the unique assimilation and co-existence of Chinese and Portuguese cultures in Macau, a former Portuguese colony. It represents the architectural legacies of the city's cultural heritage, including monuments such as urban squares, streetscapes, churches and temples. In 2005 the Historic Centre of Macau was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, making it the 31st designated World Heritage Site in China. It was described by UNESCO as: "with its historic street, residential, religious and public Portuguese and Chinese buildings, the historic centre of Macao provides a unique testimony to the meeting of aesthetic, cultural, architectural and technological influences from East and West," and "...it bears witness to one of the earliest and longest-lasting encounters between China and the West, based on the vibrancy of international trade."

The Penha Hill (Chinese: 西望洋山; Portuguese: Colina da Penha) is a hill in São Lourenço, Macau, China.

The St. Joseph's Seminary and Church (Chinese: 聖若瑟修院及聖堂; Portuguese: Igreja e Seminário de São José) is a seminary and church located in São Lourenço, Macau, China.

The Former Court Building, or Old Court Building, is a former courthouse located at 459 Avenida da Praia Grande in Macau. Built in 1951, the building was used as offices for the Portuguese colonial government, including the Judiciary Police headquarters, and then as a courthouse. It has been designated as a structure of importance. Plans to convert the building for use as the new Macao Central Library were axed in 2020. Instead, the building is now planned to house the Court of Final Appeal.
