Hull Minster is the Anglican minster and the parish church of Kingston upon Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The church was called Holy Trinity Church until 13 May 2017 when it became Hull Minster.

Trinity Market is a Grade II listed Edwardian building in the city of Kingston upon Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. A market has existed on the site since at least 1469, and in 1904 a building was provided as an indoor market place.

Ye Olde White Harte is a public house in Hull, England. It was built around 1660 in the Artisan Mannerist style but did not become a pub until the 1730s. In the aftermath of the Glorious Revolution of 1688 it was the site of a successful plot to remove the Catholic Governor of Hull. The pub was remodelled in 1881 in the Romantic style with extensive alteration to the interior and façade. At least two residents have suffered fatal accidents in the pub and it is reputed to be "one of Hull's most haunted".

The Hull Trinity House, locally known as Trinity House, is a seafaring organisation consisting of a charity for seafarers, a school, and a guild of mariners. The guild originated as a religious guild providing support and almshouses for the needy, and established a school for mariners in 1787. By the 18th century it had responsibilities including management of the harbour at Hull, and buoys and pilotage in the Humber Estuary. After the loss of many of its responsibilities as a result of the Humber Conservancy Act of 1852, the guild continued its work as a charity, and the provision of education, which continues to the present day. The school, now known as Hull Trinity House Academy, is now a secondary boys' school. The charity, Hull Trinity House Charity, supports seafarers and their families; supported by property holdings, it operates rest homes, as well as Welton Waters Adventure Centre.

The Land of Green Ginger (grid reference TA099287) is a narrow street at the bottom of Whitefriargate in the old town area of Kingston upon Hull, England. There are various commercial and residential buildings along the street. The Land of Green Ginger contains what may be the world's smallest window, being a slit which was used by the gatekeeper of the George Hotel to look out for stagecoaches and customers.The street was formerly known as Old Beverley Street. Various suggestions have been proposed for the derivation of its current name. It may simply refer to the sale or storage of the spice ginger in the Middle Ages. A record dating from 1853 indicates that a Mr Richardson "has made it most probable that the designation 'Land of Green Ginger' took place betwixt 1640 and 1735". The unknown writer then goes on to speculate that, as a Dutch family with the surname Lindegreen (meaning "green lime tree") was known to live in Hull during the earlier part of the 19th century, the modern name may be a corruption of Lindegroen jonger (Lindegreen junior). Another idea, dating from 1880, is that the name is a corruption of "Landgrave Granger", meaning a walk or pathway approaching the home of the Landgrave family.In 2017, Hull UK City of Culture commissioned a community engagement project, called Land of Green Ginger. It was presented in the form of a series of Acts of Wanton Wonder, united under an overarching narrative. The projects were developed and delivered with artists who worked both independently and in collaboration to bring new kinds of art and culture into the neighbourhoods outside the city centre. Act I was 7 Alleys, Act II was The Golden Nose of Green Ginger, Act III The Longhill Burn, Act IV Re-Rediffusions Voice Park, Act V Micropolis by Davy and Kristin McGuire and Act VI Land of Green Ginger Unleashed. In 2022, Hull Trains named one of their Class 802 Paragon trains 'Land of Green Ginger' after the street.

Humber Street Gallery is an art gallery in the English city of Kingston upon Hull, and an Absolutely Cultured project. It hosts a year-round exhibitions programme as well as events, performances and activities. The three-storey gallery was opened in February 2017 as part of that year's Hull UK City of Culture event, with exhibitions by the COUM Transmissions collective and Sarah Lucas. Humber Street Gallery has since housed exhibitions from artists such as Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2022, Hetain Patel, Oliver Ressler and more. The gallery's café includes the local "Dead Bod" graffiti, relocated from its original site on a corrugated iron shed on Riverside Wharf. The artwork is a human-sized depiction of a dead bird, supposedly painted by Captain Len ‘Pongo’ Rood and Chief Engineer Gordon Mason in the 1960s, and was a prominent feature on the city's docks.Humber Street Gallery is located in a former fruit and vegetable warehouse in Hull's Fruit Market district.

C4DI (the Centre for Digital Innovation in Hull) is a digital hub located at the Fruit Market in Kingston upon Hull, England. The company provides services to startups and has formed links with PwC, Amazon Web Services, Kingston Communications and numerous other supporters to assist with this aim. They launched the C4DI Accelerator in May 2014, which is expected to start in March 2015. The company has received visits from Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander, Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries Ed Vaizey and Shadow Minister for Culture and Media Helen Goodman on account of Hull being the 2017 UK City of Culture.

Corporation Pier station was the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway's booking office for their ferry service between Corporation Pier, Hull and New Holland Pier in Lincolnshire. It was not rail connected, but served as a ticket office and waiting room for the Humber Ferry. After a visit by Queen Victoria in 1854 the station and pier were renamed Victoria Pier station in her honour. The name may have stuck to the pier, but it never did to the station. The building itself, and references to it on maps and tickets referred to "Corporation Pier" until closure 117 years later. The station closed in 1985 with the end of the Humber ferry service.

Myton Swing Bridge is a road bridge over the River Hull, in the city of Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, England. The bridge carries the A63 road through the south of the city connecting the west and east regions of Hull. Designed by the firm of Freeman Fox and Partners, with engineering undertaken by Cleveland Bridge, it was the largest swing bridge in Britain when it was opened in 1980. The bridge was expected to carry 30,000 vehicles a week, but by 2004, it was carrying 40,000 vehicles a day.

Whitefriargate is a pedestrianised street in the Old Town area of Kingston upon Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. During the 20th century, it was one of the main shopping streets in the city centre, but some of the major stores have closed down, which has been attributed to out of town shopping centres. However, the Street still provides a useful link to and from the old town of Hull. Whitefriargate has 33 listed buildings according to Historic England, and was notable for the Beverley Gate at the west end of the street, which was the place of execution of Robert Constable in 1537. Over a hundred years later in 1642, the gate was closed to King Charles I by John Hotham on the order of Parliament, which provided a catalyst for the First English Civil War.

The unsuccessful second siege of Hull by the Royalist Earl of Newcastle in 1643 was a victory for Parliament at the high point of the Royalist campaign in the First English Civil War. It led to the abandonment of the Earl of Newcastle's campaign in Lincolnshire and the re-establishment of Parliament's presence in Yorkshire.

The first siege of Hull marked a major escalation in the conflict between King Charles I and Parliament during the build-up to the First English Civil War. Charles sought to secure the large arsenal held in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. He first approached the town in late April 1642 and was rebuffed by the town's Parliamentarian governor, Sir John Hotham. Charles retreated to York but in July he received news that Hotham might be willing to hand over the town if the Royalists approached with force large enough for Hotham to surrender with his honour intact. Charles marched towards the town with an army of 4,000 men. In the meantime, Hull had been reinforced by sea and Parliament had sent Sir John Meldrum to command the town's garrison, as they were concerned about Hotham's loyalty. Hotham once again rejected the King's demands to enter the town and a largely ineffective siege was established by the Royalists, commanded by the Earl of Lindsey as the King had returned to York. Meldrum led several sallies from the town and after a particularly effective one on 27 July, which destroyed a Royalist magazine to the west of the town, Lindsey lifted the siege and withdrew the King's forces to York.
