Rosehill is a suburb of Auckland, in northern New Zealand. Located to the south of Pahurehure, under authority of the Auckland Council. The suburb makes up the southernmost part of the Auckland metropolitan area, and is located in the Manurewa-Papakura ward, one of the thirteen administrative divisions of Auckland city.

Rosehill Intermediate is a decile 3 school situated in Papakura, Auckland, catering for Years 7 and 8 students. Located approximately 30 minutes south of Auckland CBD, on the southern edge of the Auckland metropolitan area, the school draws students from a large number of schools around the area including Papakura and Manurewa. It has a growing roll and most students move on to nearby Rosehill College. The school also hosts two satellite classes for Rosehill Special School. The school community is diverse, with 31% of students identifying as Māori, and another 14% of other Pacific heritage, with approximately 16 different languages spoken in students' homes.Rosehill Intermediate's school motto is Whaia Kia Kaha – To Seek With Vigour. The school has three key values to support students' learning – Respect, Integrity and Self-Management.

Rosehill College is a New Zealand co-educational state secondary school located in the Rosehill area of Papakura in the Auckland region. The college opened on 3 February 1970, and is now the largest secondary school in the area. Located approximately 31 km south of Auckland CBD by road, on the southern edge of the Auckland metropolitan area, the college admits students residing on the western side of the Southern Auckland Railway Line in Papakura and caters the Rosehill, Pahurehure, and Opaheke area as well as students from surrounding rural areas including Te Hihi, Karaka, Drury, Ponga, Runciman, Ramarama, Ararimu, Kingseat, Waiau Pa, and Clark's Beach. The campus is also situated next to Rosehill Intermediate.

Ōpaheke is a suburb of Auckland, in northern New Zealand. It is located to the south of Papakura, and 32 kilometres south of the Auckland CBD. The suburb is the southernmost part of the Auckland metropolitan area. The name was altered to include a macron in 2019.

The Papakura Museum is a local museum created to recognise and honour the history of Papakura, Drury, and surrounding districts. This has historically included Franklin, Manurewa, Clevedon, and Kawakawa Bay, as well as other neighbourhoods and districts nearby. The Papakura Museum is a community based museum founded by the members of the Papakura & Districts Historical Society (PDHS). The Museum's permanent exhibition focuses on local history through text, image and artefact displays. The Military Gallery focuses on local military history. Each year the Museum curates four temporary feature exhibitions that run from 2–4 months and include a variety of topics and themes.

The Sir Edmund Hillary Library (also known as Papakura Library) is a library in Auckland, New Zealand. Papakura’s first municipal library was established in 1914 when the Papakura Town Board took over a small subscription library run by the Papakura Literary Association since 1871. One of the library’s first homes was a former toll-house beside the Great South Road, but over the years the library service was moved several times until (by now known as the Sir Edmund Hillary Library) it finally moved into its present home in the Accent Point building in 2010.

Papakura Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Papakura, Auckland. The club was established in 1912 and is affiliated with the Counties Manukau Rugby Union. The club fields teams at both senior and junior level. Junior levels range from small blacks under 6s to competition grades to under 14s. Senior grades range from under 19s to under 21s and representatives. Papakura has won the Counties Club Rugby competition McNamara Cup on nine occasions: 1956, 1957, 1958 (shared with Waiuku), 1968, 1972, 1973, 1974 (shared with Manurewa), 1982, 1996).

The area makes up the southernmost part of the Auckland metropolitan area. The area was originally a small independent city, until it became Papakura District in the 1989 reorganisation of New Zealand's local governments, and has now been overtaken by Auckland's urban sprawl. The district is flanked by beaches on the Manukau Harbour to the west, Manukau City to the north and east, and had Franklin District to the south.
