Bursdon Moor

Bursdon is a village in north west Devon, England. It is located very close to the border with Cornwall.

Deptford Farm Pastures is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Devon, England. It is located 6km north of Kilkhampton, near Meddon Plantation. It was designated in 1991 as a protected area because of the traditionally managed heath, mire and fen at the site that form a community known as Culm Grassland. It is dominated by the plant species, Succisa pratensis, and also contains the rare plant Genista anglica. This protected area contains a large colony of the rare butterfly: the Marsh Fritillary.

Tosberry (alternate spelling Tosbury) is a hamlet in the parish of Hartland, Devon, England, United Kingdom. It is situated 2.6 miles South of Hartland; the parish village, 14.3 miles West of its post town Bideford, and 12.7 miles North of the nearest town Bude in Cornwall. The hamlet gives its name to a stretch of moorland to the south of its location, an area adjacent to Bursdon Moor, a site of special scientific interest.

Meddon Moor is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Cornwall, England. The moor is located in the very north-eastern corner of Cornwall, on the border with Devon, within the civil parish of Morwenstow. The Devon village of Meddon lies 500 metres (1,600 ft) to the north-east of the moor. The Meddon Moor SSSI is noted for its biodiversity, and sits on the Carboniferous Culm Measures of North Cornwall. It contains the largest single area of remaining Culm grassland in Cornwall.

Meddon Green is a 1.7 hectare (ha) Local Nature Reserve, located at Meddon, near Bideford in Devon. It consists of culm grassland surrounded by hazel coppice. The reserve is owned by Hartland Parish Council and was declared in 2007. The site contains many typical culm grassland plants including Southern Marsh Orchid and Greater Bird's-foot Trefoil. Volunteers have cleared much willow scrub from the site prior to getting the site fenced and grazed (planned for 2009).

Crimp is a hamlet in the parish of Morwenstow, Cornwall, England.

Killarney Springs was a leisure park situated near Bude in Cornwall. The park was established in 1990, and opened for the 1991 summer season. The park had an indoor adventure play centre, a boating lake, a tobogganing slope, go karts, bumper boats and an assault course. In 2005, a new range of attractions were brought to the park with the 'Family Fun Fair', which featured a log flume, a rollercoaster and bumper cars. The park closed after its 2006 season because of breaches of its planning permission. The recent additions of a roller coaster and log flume were not approved by North Cornwall District Council. Since the parks closure it has been derelict with some parts of the site being demolished. The land has since been granted planning permission for a large Huf Haus development.

The Small School was a coeducational independent school for children ages 11–16, located in Hartland, Devon, England, that closed in 2016.

The Church of Our Lady and St Nectan was a Roman Catholic place of worship in the town of Hartland, Devon. It was built by local people and consecrated by Cyril Restieaux, Bishop of Plymouth, on 8 December 1964, the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The church was served by priests from the Church of the Sacred Heart, Bideford. In 2010, Christopher Budd, Bishop of Plymouth, announced that the church was to close due to the unavailability of a priest to celebrate mass there. The final mass was celebrated on Thursday, 11 November 2010. The building was demolished in 2012.

The village of Hartland, whose parish incorporates the hamlet of Stoke to the west and the village of Meddon in the south, is the most north-westerly settlement in the county of Devon, England. Now a large village which acts as a centre for a rural neighbourhood and has minor tourist traffic, until Tudor times Hartland was an important port. It lies close to the promontory of Hartland Point, where the coast of Devon turns from facing north into the Bristol Channel to face west into the Atlantic Ocean. There is an important lighthouse on the point. The town's harbour, Hartland Quay, is to the south of the point: the quay was originally built in the late 16th century but was swept away in 1887. The high tower of the Church of Saint Nectan in Stoke remains a significant landmark for ships in the Bristol Channel. The appropriate electoral ward is called Hartland and Bradworthy. Its population at the 2011 census was 3,019.
