West Youlstone is a hamlet in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It lies seven miles north north west of Bude and north of Kilkhampton along the A39 road. It belongs to the parish of Morwenstow, and lies to the east of it. East Youlstone is immediately to the east but is in Devon.

Meddon Moor is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Cornwall, England. The moor is located in the very north-eastern corner of Cornwall, on the border with Devon, within the civil parish of Morwenstow. The Devon village of Meddon lies 500 metres (1,600 ft) to the north-east of the moor. The Meddon Moor SSSI is noted for its biodiversity, and sits on the Carboniferous Culm Measures of North Cornwall. It contains the largest single area of remaining Culm grassland in Cornwall.

Bursdon is a village in north west Devon, England. It is located very close to the border with Cornwall.

Meddon Green is a 1.7 hectare (ha) Local Nature Reserve, located at Meddon, near Bideford in Devon. It consists of culm grassland surrounded by hazel coppice. The reserve is owned by Hartland Parish Council and was declared in 2007. The site contains many typical culm grassland plants including Southern Marsh Orchid and Greater Bird's-foot Trefoil. Volunteers have cleared much willow scrub from the site prior to getting the site fenced and grazed (planned for 2009).

Kilkhampton (Cornish: Kylgh) is a village and civil parish in northeast Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is on the A39 about four miles (6 km) north-northeast of Bude. Kilkhampton was mentioned in the Domesday Book as "Chilchetone". The population of the parish was 1,193 in the 2001 census. This increased to 1,368 in the 2011 census The remains of a late Norman period motte-and-bailey castle known as Penstowe Castle are located 500 metres west of the village. Further west, at Stowe is the site of Stowe House, the grand mansion of John Granville, 1st Earl of Bath, built in 1680 but demolished in 1739: some of the stonework was reused at Penstowe, also in the parish.Kilkhampton has a post office, a primary school, and a community centre called the Grenville Rooms. There are three general stores, two pubs, and a selection of shops including an electrical goods store. There is also an MOT test station and an agricultural supply depot. The village was surveyed for the Survey of English Dialects. A crater on Mars has been named Kilkhampton.

Brocklands Adventure Park was a family run leisure park situated near Bude in Cornwall. The park was established in 1977 originally as a Tearoom and shop but quickly grew in the 1980s with the addition of a large car park and 15 in (381 mm) gauge railway with a diesel driven train. The expansion included ponds, slides and a pony ride track. In 1987 additions were made including bouncy castle, trampolines, bumper boats and quad bikes. The park became known as Pixieland Fun Park. In 1997 a steam train replaced the diesel train and in 2000 the name of the park was changed to Brocklands Adventure Park. The park itself was split into two parts with the main road dividing the rides to the south and the indoor activities, kids outdoor activities and cafe to the north of the road. The indoor multi-activity centre was known ‘Undercover Playland' and the rides era was known as ‘Upper Valley Adventureland'. There was also a 4 lane bowling alley known as 'Brock Bowl". The park closed after in 2007 season because the owners Sue and Dennis Vanstone retired. The diesel locomotive, known as 'Pioneer' was given to Sherwood Forest Railway and the steam locomotive was returned to the Exmoor Steam Railway before being sold to the Lappa Valley Railway in 2015. Another park in the area, Killarney Springs, closed the year prior.

Gooseham Mill is a hamlet in the parish of Morwenstow, Cornwall, England.The hamlet lies below Gooseham hamlet, in the Marsland valley. The county border with Devon follows Marsland Water through the valley, thus a few of the hamlet's buildings on the north side of the stream are in Devon.

Marsland Valley is a nature reserve situated in two large valleys which straddle the northern end of the Devon-Cornwall border. It is a designated nature reserve jointly managed by the Devon Wildlife Trust and the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. The reserve is a Special Area of Conservation, as well as forming part of two Sites of Special Scientific Interest; Steeple Point to Marsland Mouth on the Cornish side and Marsland to Clovelly Coast in Devon.The valley is situated near the villages of Gooseham and Morwenstow, approximately ten miles north of the Cornish Atlantic Coast resort of Bude. The watercourse along the valley, which discharges directly into the sea, at Marsland Mouth, is called Marsland Water. The land was donated by the late Christopher Cadbury (former President of the Royal Society for Nature Conservation 1962-1986) to the county Trusts. Roe deer and purple hairstreak butterflies can both be seen here, as well as the extremely rare pearl-bordered fritillary and the small pearl-bordered fritillary.On the south-facing wooded slope towards Gooseham Mill the trees are coppiced to create clearings, and vegetation thinned to keep it low so that flowers and insects can flourish. Westward on the coast, Marsland Mouth denotes the western end of the North Devon Coast AONB. It also includes part of the Hartland section of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
