Kwai Chung Park

CNEC Lee I Yao Memorial Secondary School (LIY) (Chinese: 中華傳道會李賢堯紀念中學) is an aided Chinese medium of instruction school founded in 1981 upon the principles of Christian evangelicalism. Its sponsoring body is the Christian Nationals' Evangelism Commission (中華傳道會). LIY is located in Kwai Shing, within the larger industrial district of Kwai Chung, which is well known for its busy container terminal.

Tsuen Wan Chinese Permanent Cemetery (Chinese: 荃灣華人永遠墳場) is a cemetery in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong located adjacent to the Kwai Chung Public Mortuary. It is managed by The Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries (Chinese: 華人永遠墳場管理委員會). It is the second Chinese permanent cemetery in Hong Kong after Aberdeen Chinese Permanent Cemetery and it lies on the slopes between Riviera Gardens and Tsuen Wan Abattoir, facing Gin Drinkers Bay and Rambler Channel. In terms of administrative divisions, Tsuen Wan District and Kwai Tsing District are bounded by Texaco Road and Tsing Tsuen Bridge. The cemetery is located to the south of the boundary line, so it belongs to Kwai Tsing District.

Gin Drinkers Bay or Gin Drinker's Bay, also known as Lap Sap Wan, was a bay in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong. The bay was reclaimed in the 1960s and became Kwai Fong and part of Kwai Hing. At the mouth of the bay stood the island of Pillar Island. The bay was a harbour for Tanka fishing junks. They relocated to Tsing Yi Tong and Mun Tsai Tong of Tsing Yi Island before the commencement of reclamation. Lap Sap (垃圾) means "rubbish" in Cantonese. It is unclear why the bay was named "rubbish" in the past. However, it was coincidentally once a dumping area for rubbish after extensive reclamation. It is assumed that in Gin Drinkers Bay Park or Kwai Chung Park near Pillar Island that the area is subject to landfill gas produced deep in the ground even though it is covered with earthen hills. It remains closed due to unsafe levels of landfill gas. Gin Drinkers Bay is known for the Gin Drinkers Line, which formed a defensive line against the Japanese invasion in 1941.

Kwai Chung Sports Ground (Chinese: 葵涌運動場) is one of the major sports grounds in the Kwai Tsing District, located in Kwai Fong, Hong Kong. It opened in 1978. It provides facilities for track and field and football. It is the first such ground constructed with tartan track in the district. It has a covered grandstand. It is located alongside Hing Fong Road (興芳路), opposite to the Metroplaza. The sports ground is mainly used for school sports days and Hong Kong Second Division League games.

Pillar Island or Tsing Chau was an island in the Kwai Chung area of Hong Kong, sitting at the mouth of Gin Drinkers Bay, by the side of the Rambler Channel, opposite Tsing Yi Island. In the 1960s, the bay was reclaimed and Tsing Chau became a land extension of Kwai Chung, the south of which is Kwai Tsing Container Terminals. In the early 1970s, a cross-channel bridge, Tsing Yi Bridge, was built landing on Kwai Chung where the island once was. The Kwai Chung Incineration Plant once stood on what was originally the north side of the island. It was closed and partly demolished in the early 1990s.

Kwai Shing West Estate (Chinese: 葵盛西邨) is a public housing estate in Kwai Shing, Kwai Chung, New Territories, Hong Kong located at the east of Kwai Shing East Estate. It consists of ten residential blocks completed between 1975 and 1977.

Kwai Shing (葵盛) is an area on the hill between Kwai Fong and Tai Wo Hau in the Kwai Chung area of Hong Kong. The area is named after the two major public housing estates on the hill, Kwai Shing East Estate and Kwai Shing West Estate, accommodating the influx of immigrants after World War II. The area hosts some major facilities in Kwai Chung, like Kwai Shing Swimming Pool, South Kwai Chung Jockey Club Polyclinic and Kwai Shing Wet market. It is surrounded by many primary and secondary schools. For example, Lam Wo Memorial School, Buddhist Sin Tak College, Daughter of Mary Help of Christians Siu Ming Catholic Secondary School and so on. There are some public transport stations in Kwai Shing community which makes the place quite convenient. The nearest MTR station is Kwai Hing station and it requires 15 minutes to walk down there.

Kwai Tsing Theatre (Chinese: 葵青劇院) is a major performance venue in Kwai Chung, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is located in Kwai Fong, near Kwai Fong MTR station. It was built by the Regional Council and opened on 18 November 1999 to provide a medium-size venue for performances. It has an 899-seat auditorium, a black box theatre, and various smaller function rooms.

Kwai Chung Incineration Plant (Chinese: 葵涌焚化爐) was one of four incineration plants in Hong Kong. The plant was built on a 1.4 hectares (3.5 acres) of reclaimed land along Gin Drinkers Bay, Kwai Chung, near Pillar Island and the Rambler Channel. The plant was opened in 1978 to process solid waste from Hong Kong to reduce the need to put waste into landfills.

Metroplaza (Chinese: 新都會廣場) is a shopping centre and office building developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties, officially opened in January 1993. It is located in Kwai Fong, Hong Kong and is opposite to Kwai Fong station of MTR. The mall is a shopping hub of adjacent areas of Kwai Fong, Lai King, Tsing Yi and Kwai Chung. While Metroplaza provides spacious shopping environment, another shopping centre Kwai Chung Plaza adjoining offers varieties of small shops. The mall had undergone major renovation from 2014 to November 2017. The mall is adjacent to Kwai Tsing Theatre.

The Lutheran School For The Deaf (Chinese: 路德會啟聾學校) is a special school for the deaf in Hong Kong founded by the Lutheran Church Hong Kong Synod. It provides primary and secondary education for the deaf. Students must be designated as having "severe hearing impairment" (hearing of both ears is impaired) to enroll with arrangement from the Education Bureau.
