The Art Institute of Pittsburgh was a private college in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Shortly before closing in 2019, it was purchased by Dream Center Education Holdings (in turn a division of The Dream Center, a Christian non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in Los Angeles, California, established in 1994) It was located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and emphasized design education and career preparation for the creative job market. It was founded in 1921 and closed in 2019.Ai-Pittsburgh was part of the system of Art Institutes which includes Ai-Online. The school shut its doors in March 2019 after being placed into federal receivership. At the time of its closure, Ai-Pittsburgh was facing removal of its accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) due to concerns over the executive leadership.According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the Art Institute of Pittsburgh had a 29 percent graduation rate and a 20.9 percent student loan default rate.

The Hartley-Rose Belting Company Building in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a building from 1906. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Salvation Army Building is a historic building located at 425-435 Boulevard of the Allies in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The building was constructed in 1924 with a large eastern addition in 1930 in the Late Gothic Revival style. The multi-purpose building originally housed the headquarters, residential and recreational functions for the Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania from 1924 until 2008. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 2, 2016.It was also known as The People's Institute and The Evangeline Residence for Young Women at different times. The building was redeveloped into the boutique Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh in 2017.

The Engine Company No. 1 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was located at 344 Boulevard of the Allies in downtown Pittsburgh, and Engine Company No. 30 is located directly behind it, on the other side of the building, at 341 First Avenue. Built around 1900, architect William Y. Brady, the Boulevard of the Allies facade is Beaux Arts and Classical in design, and the First Avenue facade mixes Romanesque and Classical styles. Both were added to the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations (together, as a single listing) on March 17, 1993.In 2011 the city sold the closed station to Point Park University.

One Oxford Centre is one of the major distinctive and recognizable features of Downtown Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, United States. The complex is named for Oxford Development, the developer and previous owner. Among the commercial tenants of One Oxford Centre are Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, HFF Inc., the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Pittsburgh Branch, and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

B&O Railroad Depot was one of several railroad stations in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the late 19th and early 20th century. The station was built in 1887, 16 years after the B&O Railroad opened its first railroad line into Pittsburgh. The station was built next to the Monongahela River. B&O railroad trains also used the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad Station for services that continued westward towards Chicago via the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad. In 1955 the station was demolished to make room for an interstate highway and remaining services were transferred to Grant Street Station. The building was designed by Frank Furness who also constructed the B&O Railroad's Philadelphia station.At the time of its 1955 closing, major named long distance passenger trains making stops at the station included: Ambassador Capitol Limited Columbian Cleveland Night Express Shenandoah Washington–Chicago Express WashingtonianAdditionally, the B&O operated a train from Pittsburgh to Buffalo via DuBois and East Salamanca.

Grant Street Station, also known as the B&O Pittsburgh Terminal, was a passenger rail station on Grant Street downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O) announced plans for it on May 3, 1955, after selling the original B&O Station bordering the Monongahela River to the state for construction of Interstate 376. It opened in 1957 to serve commuter rail traffic; all intercity traffic continued to use the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad's (P&LE) station (now called Station Square). Grant Street was the last such privately owned train station built in Pennsylvania.After the Port Authority of Allegheny County (PAT) assumed control of the B&O's Pittsburgh—McKeesport—Versailles commuter route in 1975 (which it re-branded PATrain), Grant Street continued to serve as the Pittsburgh depot for this service. PAT discontinued the service in 1989; Grant Street itself was demolished in 1998. The site is now home to PNC Firstside Complex and the First Avenue light rail station.

The Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education is a consortium of colleges and universities in the Pittsburgh metro area. The organization exists to allow the schools and their students to take advantage of each other's resources and to facilitate sharing them. Any full-time student at a member school may cross-register at another member school, barring certain restrictions.

The Grant Building is 40-story, 147.8 m (485 ft) skyscraper at 310 Grant Street in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The building was completed and opened on February 1, 1929 at a cost of $5.5 million ($86.8 million today). The Art Deco building's facade is built with Belgian granite, limestone, and brick. It was famous for a radio antenna that rose roughly 100–150 feet (30–46 m) from the roof of the tower and had an aviation beacon that spelled out .--. .. - - ... -... ..- .-. --. .... or P-I-T-T-S-B-U-R-G-H in Morse Code. The beacon could be seen as far away as 150 miles (240 km) on clear nights. A smaller version of the beacon, still flashing out the name of the city remains to this day, although malfunctions with the relay switch caused it to spell "P-I-T-E-T-S-B-K-R-R-H", and eventually "T-P-E-B-T-S-A-U-R-G-H" before being repaired on July 27, 2009.The tower on the roof also served as the broadcast antenna for radio station KDKA Pittsburgh which made the first commercially licensed radio broadcast on election night of 1920. At 7:00 AM on its 14th birthday (February 2, 1934), the radio station inaugurated new studios on the Grant Building's third floor. Huntington National Bank, which operates a branch inside the tower, owns the signage rights, giving them two signs in the Pittsburgh skyline alongside Centre City Tower where Huntington has their Western Pennsylvania headquarters.

The Commonwealth Building, originally known as the Commonwealth Trust Bank, is a 300 feet (91 m) tall skyscraper in Pittsburgh. It was completed in 1906 and has 21 floors. It is tied with The Carlyle and Washington Plaza for 26th tallest building in the city.

The U.S. city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was home to a "small, but busy" Chinatown, located at the intersection of Grant Street and Boulevard of the Allies in Downtown Pittsburgh where only two Chinese restaurants remain. The On Leong Society was located there. According to the article, "... the first Chinese community in Pittsburgh developed around Wylie Avenue above Court Place," according to a 1942 newsletter of the American Service Institute of Allegheny County. The Chinatown spread to Grant Street, and then "... to Water Street and then spread out to Second and Third avenues."
