Thingangyun District

Thingangyun Township (Burmese: သင်္ဃန်းကျွန်း မြို့နယ်; MLCTS: sangghan:kywan: mrui.nai, pronounced [θɪ̀ɰ̃ɡáɰ̃dʑʊ́ɰ̃ mjo̰nɛ̀]) is located in the eastern part of Yangon, Myanmar. The township comprises 38 wards, and shares borders with South Okkalapa township in the north, North Dagon township in the east, Yankin township and Tamwe township in the west, and Thaketa township in the south. The township has 40 primary schools, four middle schools and five high schools.The township is home to Thingangyun Education College and University of Dental Medicine, Yangon. The city's main sporting venues, the Thuwunna Stadium and the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium are located on the western side of the township.

The Thuwunna Youth Training Center Stadium (Burmese: သုဝဏ္ဏ လူငယ် လေ့ကျင့်ရေး ကွင်း), simply known as the Thuwunna Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium located in Yangon, Myanmar. It is the venue of choice for most national and international football and track and field competitions. This 32,000-seat stadium is smaller but more up-to-date than the Bogyoke Aung San Stadium. It is part of a complex that also includes the Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium.The stadium's eight-lane running track is the first in Myanmar that conforms to IAAF standards.

Thein Pyu Stadium (Burmese: သိမ်ဖြူအားကစားကွင်း) is a Lethwei stadium located in Yangon, Myanmar. It is the most notorious Lethwei stadium in all of Myanmar and counts over 5,200-seats. It's the venue choice for most national and international level Lethwei events. The Stadium is operated by the Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation. In 2018, the stadium was host of the biggest match in Lethwei's history dubbed the Fight of the Decade opposing Dave Leduc vs. Tun Tun Min.

International Language & Business Centre (ILBC) is a private school established on May 2, 1995, in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. It has established 26 schools in eight major cities of the country: Yangon, Mandalay, Naypyidaw, Myitkyina, Taunggyi, Monywa, Lashio, Taungoo, and Myeik .

National Indoor Stadium (1), Thuwunna is a modern indoor stadium located in Yangon, Myanmar. It is the largest indoor sports stadium in Myanmar, with a capacity of 10,825 people and located near Thuwunna Stadium.

Mahāsantisukha Buddha Sasana Center (Burmese: မဟာသန္တိသုခ ဗုဒ္ဓသာသနာပြုကျောင်းတော်ကြီး) is a Theravada Buddhist monastery located in Natchaung Ward, Tamwe Township, Yangon, Myanmar. The monastery was inaugurated on 17 December 1999, and was spearheaded under the leadership of Pannavamsa, and sponsored with the support of the Burmese government.

Golden City is a mixed-use complex located in the Yankin section of Yangon. Its master plan includes nine 33-story residential towers, a hotel, a business center and a shopping mall. As of 2020, the first two phases of the master plan—seven residential towers and a business center, have been completed. Work on phase 3, which includes a hotel, shopping mall and cinemas, and a residential tower, had not begun as of March 2020. The complex's first four towers were tallest buildings in Myanmar from 2016 to 2019. The complex's second batch of towers (Towers 5–7), the same height as the first four, then also became the tallest buildings in the country from 2018 to 2019.

Yankin Township (Burmese: ရန်ကင်း မြို့နယ်, pronounced [jàɰ̃ɡɪ́ɰ̃ mjo̰nɛ̀]) is located in the north-central part of Yangon. The township comprises 15 wards, and shares borders with Mayangon township in the north, Thingangyun township and South Okkalapa township in the east, the Inya Lake, Bahan township and Mayangon township in the west, and Tamwe township in the south. The township has 13 primary schools, seven middle schools and two high schools.Yankin is a thriving commercial hub of Yangon. Yankin Centre is a leading shopping destination in Yangon, attracting shoppers from around the city. Saya San Road is the main thoroughfare that runs through most of the important places in the township. The Kokkine Swimming Pools, and the 18-hectare (44.5-acre) Myakyuntha Amusement Park are both located here. In 2008, the National Library of Myanmar moved to a new site in Yankin Township. In 2011, a new children's hospital opened in the township, occupying the site of an old Ministry of Mining building.Yankin is a mix of upscale and middle class area with a multi-ethnic character. The township has a large Tamil community, and a rich collection of Hindu temples, (most of which are dedicated to Kali and Ganesh) as well as a large Chinese temple called Fushan Temple, believed to be the largest in Yangon. The Moekaung Pagoda is the principal pagoda of the area, and the annual Moekaung Pagoda Festival attracts a number of people from around the city.

The Gitameit Music Institute (Burmese: ဂီတမိတ် ဂီတသင်တန်းကျောင်း) is a non-profit music school and community centre in Yankin Township, Yangon, Myanmar. The school offers holistic music programs that incorporate the study of western music genres and traditional and folk Burmese music. Gitameit also houses one of the country's largest musical archives, including digital copies of phonograph records. The school maintains a two-year "teaching artist" program with the University of Washington.
