Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple (Burmese: ခြောက်ထပ်ကြီးဘုရားကြီး) is the most well-known Buddhist temple in Bahan Township, Yangon, Yangon Region, Myanmar. It houses one of the most revered reclining Buddha images in the country. The Buddha image is 66 metres (217 ft) long, and one of the largest in Burma.The construction was sponsored by a wealthy Burmese Buddhist, Sir Po Tha, in 1899. The image was completed in 1907 by another construction company, but was not proportioned correctly, and the Buddha's face had an aggressive expression.In the 1950s, the old Buddha image was demolished and temple trustees began work to replace the image, under the supervision of U Thaung, a master craftsman from Tavoy (now Dawei). Large glass eyes with dimensions of 1.77 by .58 metres (5 ft 10 in × 1 ft 11 in) were custom-created at Naga Glass Factory. The Buddha image was consecrated in 1973.

Yankin Township (Burmese: ရန်ကင်း မြို့နယ်, pronounced [jàɰ̃ɡɪ́ɰ̃ mjo̰nɛ̀]) is located in the north-central part of Yangon. The township comprises 15 wards, and shares borders with Mayangon township in the north, Thingangyun township and South Okkalapa township in the east, the Inya Lake, Bahan township and Mayangon township in the west, and Tamwe township in the south. The township has 13 primary schools, seven middle schools and two high schools.Yankin is a thriving commercial hub of Yangon. Yankin Centre is a leading shopping destination in Yangon, attracting shoppers from around the city. Saya San Road is the main thoroughfare that runs through most of the important places in the township. The Kokkine Swimming Pools, and the 18-hectare (44.5-acre) Myakyuntha Amusement Park are both located here. In 2008, the National Library of Myanmar moved to a new site in Yankin Township. In 2011, a new children's hospital opened in the township, occupying the site of an old Ministry of Mining building.Yankin is a mix of upscale and middle class area with a multi-ethnic character. The township has a large Tamil community, and a rich collection of Hindu temples, (most of which are dedicated to Kali and Ganesh) as well as a large Chinese temple called Fushan Temple, believed to be the largest in Yangon. The Moekaung Pagoda is the principal pagoda of the area, and the annual Moekaung Pagoda Festival attracts a number of people from around the city.

Ngahtatgyi Buddha Temple (Burmese: ငါးထပ်ကြီးဘုရားကြီး) is a Buddhist temple in Bahan Township, Yangon, Burma, located off Shwegondine Road. A distinct five-tiered pagoda houses the original 20.5 feet (6.2 m) high Buddha image was donated by Prince Minyedeippa in 1558. A Buddha statue, 45.5 feet (13.9 m) on a pedestal, 30 feet (9.1 m) high and 46 feet (14 m) wide was erected at the temple in 1900.

Golden City is a mixed-use complex located in the Yankin section of Yangon. Its master plan includes nine 33-story residential towers, a hotel, a business center and a shopping mall. As of 2020, the first two phases of the master plan—seven residential towers and a business center, have been completed. Work on phase 3, which includes a hotel, shopping mall and cinemas, and a residential tower, had not begun as of March 2020. The complex's first four towers were tallest buildings in Myanmar from 2016 to 2019. The complex's second batch of towers (Towers 5–7), the same height as the first four, then also became the tallest buildings in the country from 2018 to 2019.

The Bogyoke Aung San Museum (Burmese: ဗိုလ်ချုပ် အောင်ဆန်း ပြတိုက်), located in Bahan, Yangon, is a museum dedicated to General Aung San, the founder of modern Myanmar (Burma). Established in 1962, the two-story museum was Aung San's last residence before his assassination in July 1947. It is a colonial-era villa, built in 1921, where his daughter Aung San Suu Kyi grew up as a child. The museum, with its focus on Gen. Aung San's short adult life, is complementary to the Bogyoke Aung San Residence Museum in Natmauk, Magwe Division, which is dedicated to his childhood and family memorabilia. It houses exhibits on his life story and general memorabilia which includes clothing, books, furniture, family photos and the late general's car. For many years, the museum was opened only for three hours each year– on the Martyrs' Day of 19 July, from 9 am to 4 pm. The restriction is in line with the current military government's policy of restricting any mention of Gen. Aung San in the media in order to marginalize Aung San Suu Kyi. The museum formally reopened on 24 March 2012.The museum is listed on the Yangon City Heritage List.

Mahāsantisukha Buddha Sasana Center (Burmese: မဟာသန္တိသုခ ဗုဒ္ဓသာသနာပြုကျောင်းတော်ကြီး) is a Theravada Buddhist monastery located in Natchaung Ward, Tamwe Township, Yangon, Myanmar. The monastery was inaugurated on 17 December 1999, and was spearheaded under the leadership of Pannavamsa, and sponsored with the support of the Burmese government.
