Bullis Charter School (BCS) is a public charter school in Los Altos, California, USA, for grades kindergarten through eighth. As the Santa Clara County Office of Education charters the school, BCS operates independently of the Los Altos School District (LASD). BCS provides full-time teaching specialists in the arts and sciences, a Mandarin language program, and optional after-school activities. The school is funded in approximately equal parts from state funding and parent donations.

Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory was a pioneering semiconductor developer founded by William Shockley, and funded by Beckman Instruments, Inc., in 1955. It was the first high technology company in what came to be known as Silicon Valley to work on silicon-based semiconductor devices. In 1957, the eight leading scientists resigned and became the core of what became Fairchild Semiconductor. Shockley Semiconductor never recovered from this departure, and was purchased by Clevite in 1960, then sold to ITT in 1968, and shortly after, officially closed. The building remained, but was repurposed as a retail store. By 2015 plans were made to demolish the site to develop a new building complex. By 2017 the site was redeveloped with new signage marking it as the "Real Birthplace of Silicon Valley."

Ardis G. Egan Junior High School is a middle school for seventh graders and eighth graders in Los Altos, California. It is part of the Los Altos School District. Most of Egan's over five hundred students live in Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, and a few students live in Mountain View. Egan is named after Ardis Egan, the founder and former Superintendent of the Los Altos School District.Egan is mainly fed by local elementary schools of the same district: Almond, Santa Rita, Covington and Gardner Bullis. Egan has inherited these schools' high success rates, ranking as one of the top intermediate schools in the state.

San Antonio Shopping Center is an outdoor shopping mall located on El Camino Real at San Antonio Road in Mountain View, California. The shopping center consists of two areas, owned by two separate companies: The namesake San Antonio Shopping Center, a traditional outdoor power center anchored by Trader Joe's, Walmart, and a 24 Hour Fitness gym and was formerly owned by Federal Realty until the land was sold to the Los Altos School District in late December 2019 for the businesses to eventually be demolished for a neighbourhood school for students in the area, due to the fact that most students had to drive 3 miles to Covington Elementary School in Los Altos. There were also plans to designate the land as a new site for the Bullis Charter School, which had 2 campuses with portable unit serving as classrooms and they were housed at the districts two junior high schools, Egan Junior High School and Georgina P. Blach Intermediate School. The original plan was to have the school open by 2023 but the COVID-19 pandemic has since delayed those plans.The Village at San Antonio Center, a mixed-use property with apartments, restaurants, and a Safeway supermarket, is owned by Merlone Geier Partners.

The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) was founded in Mountain View, California, in 1968. The school is now the largest non-profit provider of art and music education programs in both Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. CSMA is Northern California’s largest non-profit provider of arts education programs and, with a $6 million budget and 160-member staff and faculty, it is one of the ten largest community schools in the United States. Located in Silicon Valley, CSMA is dedicated to making the arts and arts education accessible to all, regardless of age, experience or background. Headquartered in the Finn Center in the City of Mountain View, CSMA directly serves over 22,000 people of all ages, skill levels and economic means each year, including over 16,000 students at 40+ schools in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. CSMA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and is a member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education.

Formed in 1972 by voter initiative, the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (MROSD) is a non-enterprise special district in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has acquired and preserved a regional green belt of open space land and provides opportunities for ecologically-sensitive public enjoyment and education. Its stated mission is: To acquire and preserve a regional greenbelt of open space land in perpetuity; protect and restore the natural environment; and provide opportunities for ecologically sensitive public enjoyment and education.The District, which includes parts of Santa Clara, San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties, works to form a continuous green belt of permanently preserved open space by linking its lands with other public park lands. A member of the Bay Area Open Space Council, the District also participates in cooperative efforts such as the San Francisco Bay Trail, Bay Area Ridge Trail, and Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail, which are regional trail systems in the Bay Area that include District lands. The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District has permanently preserved almost 63,500 acres (25,700 ha) of mountainous, foothill, and bayland open space, creating 26 open space preserves. Of the District's 26 preserves, 24 are open to the public free of charge, 365 days a year from dawn until one-half hour after sunset. The District's tax and voter base consists of about 550 square miles (1,400 km2) and 741,000 people, mostly in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. District revenues for fiscal year 2012-2013 were $33 million, with $30.3 million coming directly from a portion of property taxes. The District also occasionally receives state and federal grants, as well as private donations.

San Antonio station is a Caltrain commuter rail station located in Mountain View, California. The station has two side platforms serving the two tracks of the Peninsula Subdivision, with a pedestrian tunnel at the south end. The station opened in April 1999 to replace the Castro station, which was located 0.8 miles (1.3 km) to the south at Rengstorff Ave.

Mayfield Mall was a shopping mall in Mountain View, California, United States. Operational from 1966 to 1984, it was the first air-conditioned, enclosed shopping mall in Northern California, though it has been an office complex since the 1980s. In 2013, Google rented the entire 500,000 square feet (46,000 m2) property and ultimately purchased it in 2016 for $225 million; it is now known as the company's Building RLS1.

Los Altos High School (abbreviated as LAHS) is a WASC-accredited public high school located in Los Altos, California, United States, in the heart of Silicon Valley. Los Altos was opened in 1954 and is located at 201 Almond Avenue, close to Los Altos Downtown, San Antonio Shopping Center, and Almond Elementary School. Los Altos High School is one of the three Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District public high schools; the other is Mountain View High School and Alta Vista High School. The main feeder schools are Egan Junior High School and Crittenden Middle School. The attendance area includes highly affluent sections of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Mountain View, and low-income housing sections of Mountain View.The school principal, since 2005, is Wynne Satterwhite. The previous principal, George Perez, left in 2004.

Alta Mesa Memorial Park is a non-denominational burial ground located in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County, California. It was established in 1904 as a 72-acre cemetery. It includes traditional burial plots, a mausoleum and a columbarium.
