Hosford-Abernethy is a neighborhood in the inner Southeast section of Portland, Oregon. It borders Buckman and Sunnyside on the north, Richmond on the east, Brooklyn and Creston-Kenilworth on the south, and (across the Willamette River) Downtown Portland and South Portland on the west. Hosford-Abernethy was named in the 1970s for two schools in the neighborhood, Hosford Middle School (commemorating early Portland resident and Methodist minister Chauncey Hosford) and Abernethy Elementary School (commemorating fellow Methodist minister and Provisional Governor of the Oregon Territory, George Abernethy). The north central area of the neighborhood, with its distinctive X-shaped street pattern, is known as Ladd's Addition. The former Mizpah Presbyterian Church is a building in southeast Portland, Oregon. This Carpenter Gothic style church is on the National Register of Historic Places and is the oldest structure in Ladd’s Addition. It was built in 1891 and moved to its current location in Ladd’s Addition in 1911. An addition at the east end was added to the main structure in 1924, and was used for classrooms and meeting rooms. The wood-frame structure features a design from the mid-1800's. Above the prominent entryway staircase rises a Basilican bell tower adjacent to the main structure. In the bell tower is the original bell cast in 1888 by Vanduzen and Tift at the Buckeye Bell Foundry in Cincinnati, Ohio. It served the Presbyterian community as a church and community center until 1961. From 1961 to 1978, the structure was rented to several other congregations and organizations, each of which had a short life. After 17 years of neglect, it was purchased by Artur Lind in 1978 who converted it over the next two years for use as four residential units. Lind completed the design work himself, used the 20 foot pews to make railings, staircases, furniture, and accent pieces, and obtained the National Register of Historic Places designation in 1983.

Founded in 1970 by the members of a food-buying club, the co-op is owned by over 3000 member owners and is a member of the National Cooperative Grocers Association and the United States Federation of Worker Cooperatives.

The Buckler–Henry House, also known as the Grace Peck House, is a historic house in Portland, Oregon, United States. It is one of Portland's few remaining examples of 19th-century brick residential construction. John Buckler built the house in 1891 for Charles K. Henry, a real estate developer who platted the neighborhood in 1890, and subsequently purchased it. Prominent later residents included steamboat captain Jules Olivier and his daughter Grace Olivier Peck, who served in the Oregon House of Representatives for 22 years between 1948 and 1977. In her public life, she focused on social welfare issues and received many accolades from colleagues, governors, and the public.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
