Ninomiya Station

Ninomiya (二宮町, Ninomiya-machi) is a town located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 October 2023, the town had an estimated population of 26,968 and a population density of 2970 persons per km². The total area of the town is 9.08 square kilometres (3.51 sq mi).

Naka District (中郡, Naka-gun) is a district located in central Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It currently consists of two towns, Ōiso, and Ninomiya. The majority of the area of the city of Hadano and the entire cities of Hiratsuka and Isehara were formerly part of Naka District. As of 2009, the district had an estimated population of 62,522 and a density of 2,380 persons per km2. The total area was 26.26 km2.

Bentenyama Tunnel (弁天山トンネル, Bentenyama tonneru) is a tunnel on Tokaido Shinkansen operated by Central Japan Railway Company located between Shin-yokohama Station and Odawara Station with total length of 1.316 km. It was built and completed in 1962. The Benten-yama tunnel, spanning approximately 1.3 kilometers, sits close to Kozu area in the southwestern region of Oiso hill land (Kanagawa Prefecture), predominantly characterized by diluvium-tertiary formations of soil. Alongside the tunnel's path, the hill is primarily composed of alternating layers of sand gravel beds and tuffaceous mudstone beds.

Shigitatsu-an (Japanese: 鴫立庵) is a haikai dojo (Japanese: 俳諧道場) in Ōiso, Kanagawa, Japan, where people learn haiku poetry from the master there or from each other. It is one of the three important such dojo, the other two being Rakushi-sha (落柿舎) in Sagano, Kyoto, and Mumei-an (無名庵) in Ōtsu, Shiga. Shigitasu-an was built in 1664 by Sōsetsu (崇雪) as a humble hut on the rivulet, Shigitatsu-sawa, Ōiso, where the 12th century waka poet, monk Saigyō, was said to write one of his most famous poems which was later included in the Shin Kokin Wakashū: In 1694, Michikaze Ōyodo (大淀三千風) became the master at Shigitatsu-an. In 1768, it was re-established by Chōsui Shirai (白井鳥酔). Currently, Motoi Ei (ja:本井英) is the 23rd master (2020-). Shigitatsu-an was built on Tokaido, the main thoroughfare between Edo and Kyoto, which is now National Route 1. There stands a stele erected by Oiso Town that the word "Shōnan" was first mentioned by Sosetsu introducing Shigitatsu-an to the passers-by.
