Muromachi (室町), or officially Nihonbashi-Muromachi (日本橋室町), is a district of Chūō, Tokyo, Japan. It formerly belonged to the Nihonbashi Ward (日本橋区), which corresponds to the present-day Nihonbashi area. Muromachi is a business district, home to a number of long-established companies.

The Tokiwabridge (常盤橋) is a bridge over the Nihonbashi River between Ōtemachi, Chiyoda, Tokyo and Nihonbashi Motoishi-chō, Chūō, Tokyo. There are actually two separate "Tokiwa Bridges": a pedestrian-only stone bridge which led to a gate of Edo Castle and a road bridge constructed after the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake located 70 meters away. Both of these bridges are made from stone, have a double arch structure.

The Currency Museum of the Bank of Japan (貨幣博物館, Kahei-hakubutsukan), formally known as the Currency Museum, Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies, Bank of Japan (日本銀行金融研究所貨幣博物館, Nihonginkō-kin'yū-kenkyūjo-kahei-hakubutsukan) is a museum about Japanese currency located in front of the Bank of Japan building in Chūō, Tokyo. The museum opened in November 1985. In 2010, there was an exhibition of wallets from the Edo Period (1603–1867) and Meiji Era (1868–1912).

Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo is a luxury hotel located in the Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi neighborhood, close to Tokyo Station and Tokyo Stock Exchange. The hotel, opened in December 2005, is managed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The hotel contains 178 guestrooms and suites as well as ten restaurants and bars. Among the restaurants, Sense, Signature and Tapas Molecular Bar have each been awarded Michelin Stars. Additionally, the hotel operates a spa, which, in 2011, was named by Conde Nast Traveller readers as one of the Top 25 spas in the world.

The Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower (日本橋三井タワー) is a skyscraper located in Chūō, Tokyo, Japan. The 192-metre, 34-storey building is primarily used for office space with the upper floors occupied by a hotel. Its construction was completed in 2005. It is connected by an underground concourse to the Tokyo Metro Mitsukoshimae Station.

The Kamiyashiki of Matsudaira Tadamasa (松平忠昌の上屋敷, Matsudaira Tadamasa no kamiyashiki) was a large residential complex that was located outside Edo Castle in 17th century Japan.

Mitsukoshimae Station (三越前駅, Mitsukoshimae-eki) is a subway station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, in Chūō, Tokyo, Japan, operated by Tokyo Metro.

The Nihonbashi River (日本橋川, Nihonbashi-gawa) is a river which flows through central Tokyo, Japan. It is a distributary river of the Kanda River and flows into the Sumida River near the Eitai Bridge. The river is 4.8 km (3.0 mi) in length and passes through Chiyoda and Chuo wards. The river was created by a re-channeling of the former Hira River in the 15th Century at the direction of Ōta Dōkan to form a part of the external fortifications and water management plan for Edo Castle.Connected to Tokyo Bay the river is shallow in depth and subject to a tidal range of up to two meters. The river banks are heavily built up in character and the Inner Circular Route C1 of the Shuto Expressway has covered almost the entire length of the river since the expressway's construction in 1962. Despite this the river features urban park space along its southern bank, occasional boat tours and a number of noteworthy and historic bridges along its route; foremost being the Nihonbashi Bridge designed by Tsumaki Yorinaka in 1911.

Edo (Japanese: 江戸, lit. '"bay-entrance" or "estuary"'), also romanized as Jedo, Yedo or Yeddo, is the former name of Tokyo.Edo, formerly a jōkamachi (castle town) centered on Edo Castle located in Musashi Province, became the de facto capital of Japan from 1603 as the seat of the Tokugawa shogunate. Edo grew to become one of the largest cities in the world under the Tokugawa. After the Meiji Restoration in 1868 the Meiji government renamed Edo as Tokyo (東京, "Eastern Capital") and relocated the Emperor from the historic capital of Kyoto to the city. The era of Tokugawa rule in Japan from 1603 to 1868 is known eponymously as the Edo period.

Nihonbashi (日本橋) is a business district of Chūō, Tokyo, Japan which grew up around the bridge of the same name which has linked two sides of the Nihonbashi River at this site since the 17th century. The first wooden bridge was completed in 1603. The current bridge, designed by Tsumaki Yorinaka and constructed of stone on a steel frame, dates from 1911. The district covers a large area to the north and east of the bridge, reaching Akihabara to the north and the Sumida River to the east. Ōtemachi is to the west and Yaesu and Kyobashi to the south. Nihonbashi, together with Kyobashi and Kanda, is the core of Shitamachi, the original downtown center of Edo-Tokyo, before the rise of newer secondary centers such as Shinjuku and Shibuya.
