The Old Green Tree

1 Broad Street is a historic building in Bath, Somerset, England. Standing at 1 Broad Street, at Broad Street's junction with Green Street, the building was completed in the late 18th century. It is now Grade II listed. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a roof covered in Welsh slate. The building was formerly two houses (with 9 Green Street), but was converted to a public house with accommodation on the first and second floors. Between 1962 and 2003, the building was The Oliver Inn, named for 18th-century Bath physician Dr William Oliver. A plaque above the door commemorates Oliver. After a major renovation, it reopened as St Christopher's Inn. It became today's restaurant, Belushi's, a few years later.

Upper Borough Walls is a historic street in Bath, Somerset, England. Many of the structures are listed buildings. It takes its name from the section of the medieval wall of the city which still remains.The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases was founded in 1738 as The Mineral Water Hospital, and is still known locally as The Min. Then, it provided care for the impoverished sick who were attracted to Bath because of the supposed healing properties of the mineral water from the spa. The original building was designed by John Wood the Elder and built with Bath stone donated by Ralph Allen. It was later enlarged, firstly in 1793 by the addition of an attic storey and later in 1860 by a second building erected on the west side of the earlier edifice. It is a Grade II listed building. There is a fine pediment, in Bath stone, on the 1860 building depicting the parable of the good Samaritan. Number 10 was built between 1800 and 1820, when numbers 11 and 12 were built. Number 11 had a new shop front around 1900. The Full Moon Hotel is slightly earlier having been built between 1780 and 1800.Numbers 18 and 18A, on the corner of Trim Street were built between 1730 and 1750. Broadleys Vaults Public House and Gascoyne House also make up a listed building.

Old King Edward's School is a former school building in Bath, Somerset, England. Standing on Broad Street, near its junction with Saracen Street, the building was built in 1752, the work of Thomas Jelly. It is now a Grade II* listed building, having been added in 1950. It was King Edward's School from 1752 to 1990, after the school moved from the nave of the disused Church of St Mary's Northgate, where it had been for almost 200 years. In 1990, after just under 250 years, the junior school followed the secondary school's relocation to a new site on North Road at the southeastern edge of the city around 25 years earlier. In 1997, an application to turn the building into a public house by Samuel Smith Old Brewery was refused, although it still owns the property. A scheme for use as a hotel has also been withdrawn. The building remains on the Heritage at Risk Register, but work to repair the roof has reduced the risk to the property. Proposals to use it as a temporary shelter for the homeless were rejected in 2018, by the brewery, claiming that work would be "commencing very soon". As of 2024, it remains vacant.

Cheap Street in Bath, Somerset, England is adjacent to Bath Abbey and contains several listed buildings. The road was known as Souter Street (meaning Shoemakers Street) until 1398.Number 13 which adjoins the abbey and is Grade II* listed.Number 14 was built around 1720. Trim Street in Bath, Somerset, England is an historic street, built in 1707, of shops and houses, many of which are listed buildings. It was named after George Trim who owned the land.Number 5, which is also known as General Wolfe's house, is a two-storey building with a parapet and rusticated quoins, built by Thomas Greenway. The doorway has Ionic pilasters and a tympanum decorated with the implements of war. General James Wolfe was staying in the house when William Pitt, the elder commanded him to lead an expedition to Quebec.Numbers 6 and 7 are three-storey houses with a mansard roof, as are number 8 and 9.Number 10 dates from the late 18th century. It has 3 storeys plus an attic and mansard roof. The doorway has Doric columns and a pediment.Numbers 11 to 13 form a block of three- and four-storey buildings now used as shops, while the 4 storey block at number 15 to 17 is still residential. Number 14 and number 9 are 3 storey residential buildings. Jane Austen also lived in Trim Street, although her house is no longer there. This was the Austen family's fourth address in Bath, each progressively cheaper and less desirable than the last. The Unitarian Church was built in 1795 by John Palmer. The apse was the added and interior altered in 1860. In 1809 the antiquarian Joseph Hunter, took up the post of Minister at the Chapel, there he met and married Mary Hayward, with whom he would have six children.

Milsom Street in Bath, Somerset, England was built in 1762 by Thomas Lightholder. The buildings were originally grand town houses, but most are now used as shops, offices and banks. Most have three storeys with mansard roofs and Corinthian columns. Numbers 2 to 22 are grade II listed. The bank at number 24 was built by Wilson and Willcox and includes baroque detail not seen on the other buildings. Numbers 25 to 36 continue the architectural theme from numbers 2 to 22.Numbers 37 to 42 which are known as Somersetshire Buildings have been designated as Grade II* listed buildings.The Octagon Chapel was a place of worship, then a furniture shop by Mallett Antiques Opened briefly as a restaurant, which has subsequently closed. It is accessed beside number 46.As a fashionable Georgian thoroughfare, Milsom Street is quoted in several of the works of Jane Austen, including Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. In the 2010 Google Street View Best Streets Awards, Milsom Street was voted "Britain's Best Fashion Street" by the 11,000 participants.

Bath's city walls (also referred to as borough walls) were a sequence of defensive structures built around the city of Bath in England. Roman in origin, then restored by the Anglo-Saxons, and later strengthened in the High medieval period, the walls formed a complete circuit, covering the historic core of the modern city, an area of approximately 23 acres (9.3 ha) including the Roman Baths and medieval Bath Abbey. In the present-day however, the walls have largely disappeared, though the route they took is evident from the street layout; one of the gates partially remains.

The Corridor is one of the world's earliest retail arcades, designed by architect Henry Goodridge and built in 1825, in Bath, Somerset, England. The fashion for arranging shops in arcades arose in Paris in the late 18th Century. The Corridor followed the trend set by London's Burlington Arcade. The Grade II listed arcade has a glass roof. The High Street end has a Doric colonnade. Each end has marble columns.A musicians gallery, with a wrought iron balustrade and gilt lions heads and garlands, is in the centre of the arcade.Number 7 was the photographic studio of William Friese-Greene.

The Victoria Art Gallery is a public art museum in Bath, Somerset, England. It was opened in 1900 to commemorate Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee. It is a Grade II* listed building and houses over 1,500 objects of art including a collection of oil paintings from British artists dating from 1700 onwards. The ground floor was at one time a public library.

Guildhall is an 18th-century municipal building in central Bath, Somerset, England. It is a Grade I listed building.
