Reinsdorf is a municipality in the district Kyffhäuserkreis, in Thuringia, Germany.

Heldrungen is a town and a former municipality in the Kyffhäuserkreis district, Thuringia, Germany. Since 1 January 2019, it is part of the town An der Schmücke. Nearby rivers are the Unstrut and the Wipper. It is known for its fortification with two water ditches, four vauban bastions and five rondells. In the center of the fortification is a Renaissance castle, which was built from 1512 to 1518. Today, the castle is used as a youth hostel.

It was created with effect from 1 January 2019 by the merger of the former municipalities of Bretleben, Gorsleben, Hauteroda, Heldrungen, Hemleben and Oldisleben. Between 1993 and 2019, these municipalities were part of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") An der Schmücke, which additionally contained the municipalities Etzleben and Oberheldrungen. The seat of the town and the former Verwaltungsgemeinschaft is in Heldrungen.

Since 1 January 2019, it is part of the town Bad Frankenhausen. The village was mentioned in a charter of Louis the German in 874 for the first time. The village was once a moated castle, which was located on the site of the later manor. By 1918, the town belonged to the principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.

The Thuringian Gate (German: Thüringer Pforte) near Sachsenburg, a district of Oldisleben, west of Heldrungen in central Germany, is where the gorge of the river Unstrut breaks out of the Thuringian Basin through the Hainleite and Schmücke hills to the north. It is also known as the Sachsenburg Gate. This topographical feature carved out by the Unstrut has always been used as a communication route. Today the B 85 and B 86 federal roads and the Sangerhausen–Erfurt railway pass through the gorge. The Thuringian Gate was guarded in medieval times by the fortresses of Upper and Lower Sachsenburg.

Artern (German pronunciation: [ˈaʁtɐn] ) is a town in the Kyffhäuserkreis district, Thuringia, Germany. The former municipalities Heygendorf and Voigtstedt were merged into Artern in January 2019.
