The 41st Curtis Cup Match was played from 26–28 August 2021 at Conwy Golf Club near Conwy, Wales. It was originally scheduled for 12–14 June 2020 but was postponed to 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.Great Britain & Ireland had the better of the first day and led to by 41⁄2 points to 11⁄2 points at the end of the day. The USA team levelled the match at 6 points a piece by the end of the second day. The third day singles matches were initially very tight but ultimately, most of the matches swung toward the USA team and they secured 61⁄2 points of the 8 available. The USA team retained the Curtis Cup with a total score of 121⁄2 to 71⁄2 for the GB&I team. It was the USA's first away win in the contest since 2008.

Conwy Golf Club in Conwy, Wales was officially opened as Caernarfonshire Golf Club in 1890. The links course on the Morfa Conwy peninsula was designed by Jack Morris (nephew of Old Tom Morris). The championship course is 6,910 yards (6,320 m) long with a par of 72.

Morfa Conwy is a spit formed originally of marshy sand, north of the western end of the modern A55 entrance to Conwy in Conwy county borough, north-west Wales. A widely used corruption of the place name is Conwy Morfa, likely to have come about from the nearby Conway Marsh changing to Conway Morfa. The North Wales Coast Line railway once had a stop at 'Conway Morfa'. Known locally as "The Morfa" (Welsh, Y Morfa - meaning the sea marsh), it shapes the south side of the estuary of the River Conwy. Conway Marsh railway station (later known as Conway Morfa) was located about a mile north west of Conwy, Wales (Conway being the English name for the town).

Ysgol Aberconwy is a medium-sized, mixed comprehensive school for ages 11 to 18, on the Conwy estuary on the North Wales coast. The school is two minutes from the A55 Expressway linking Chester to North Wales. Ian Gerrard BSc was appointed headteacher at the beginning of the 2014–15 academic year. Conwy's town walls are a medieval defensive structure around the town of Conwy in Wales. The walls were constructed between 1283 and 1287 after the foundation of Conwy by Edward I, and were designed to form an integrated system of defence alongside Conwy Castle. The walls are 1.3 km (0.81 mi) long and include 21 towers and three gatehouses. The project was completed using large quantities of labourers brought in from England; the cost of building the castle and walls together came to around £15,000, a huge sum for the period. The walls were slightly damaged during the rebellion of Owain Glyndŵr in 1401, but political changes in the 16th century reduced the need to maintain such defences around the town. The fortifications were treated sympathetically during the development of the road and railway systems in Conwy during the 19th century and survived largely intact into the modern period. Today the walls form part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site administered by Cadw. Historians Oliver Creighton and Robert Higham describe the defences as "one of the most impressive walled circuits" in Europe.

Boldondeb Woods is a woodland local nature reserve in Conwy, Wales. Located on the western shore of the Conwy estuary, the woodland is a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees. The woodland covers an area of 7.6 hectares (19 acres) and there are a number of footpaths through the woods.

The Borough of Aberconwy was a local government district with borough status from 1974 to 1996, being one of five districts in the county of Gwynedd, north-west Wales.

Conwy railway station serves the town of Conwy, north Wales, and is located on the North Wales Main Line, between Crewe and Holyhead. It is served by Transport for Wales, on services from Holyhead to South Wales and Birmingham International.

Deganwy railway station serves the town of Deganwy, Wales, and is the only intermediate station located on the Llandudno branch line from Llandudno Junction (on the North Wales Coast Line from Crewe to Holyhead) to Llandudno.

The Albion Ale House or The Albion is a Grade II listed public house in Conwy, North Wales. Built in 1921, it is a three-room pub with Art Nouveau decor that underwent major renovation in 2012. The Albion is jointly operated by four North Wales breweries and real ales from these breweries and other beers are served through eight hand pumps. The Albion Ale House was named the 2013 Wales Pub of the Year by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), and named one of the world's best bars by The Guardian.The four breweries that co-run The Albion are Conwy Brewery of Llysfaen, Bragdy Nant of Llanrwst, Great Orme Brewery of Llandudno, and Purple Moose Brewery of Porthmadog.

The Battle of the Conwy took place in 881 between King Anarawd and his brothers of the northern Welsh Kingdom of Gwynedd and a Mercian army almost certainly led by Æthelred, Lord of the Mercians. The Welsh were victorious, and the battle ended the traditional hegemony of Mercia over north Wales and contributed to Æthelred's decision to accept the lordship of King Alfred the Great of Wessex. This united the Anglo-Saxons who were not living under Viking rule under Alfred, and was a step towards the creation of the Kingdom of England. Anarawd allied himself with the Vikings shortly after the battle, but he then abandoned this alliance to follow Æthelred in accepting Alfred's lordship.
