Ulriksdal railway station

Confidencen, or Ulriksdal Palace Theatre (Swedish: Ulriksdals slottsteater), is a theatre in the park of Ulriksdal Palace in Solna, just outside the Swedish capital Stockholm. Built in the 1750s and restored from the late 20th century, it is the oldest Rococo theatre in Sweden.

Morianbron (Swedish: Blackamoor Bridge) is a small bridge in the gardens of the Ulriksdal Palace in Solna, Sweden, named after the pair of sculptures of so-called blackamoors (e.g. black Moors) standing by the bridge. Arguably the smallest bridge in the Swedish capital, it also passes over the indeed small stream Igelbäcken flowing through the gardens. The low wooden bridge is on either side flanked by two bronze sculptures painted in black of two black men dressed in loinclothes pulling a fishing net passing under the bridge. The two sculptures, moulded in the early 19th century by the sculptor Per Lundgren, were brought to the Ulriksdal Palace from the royal gardens at Hagaparken. There, they were standing by the network of canals that once flew through the park.According to an amusing story, a lady standing on the bridge fell in love with the two men and, not being able to choose between them, threw herself into the stream to end her pang of love. The anecdote not only suits the romantic and picturesque environment, it also reflects the fancy for exotic people prevalent during the 18th and early 19th century, typically represented by artists such as Eugène Delacroix.

Igelbäcken (Swedish: (the) Leech Stream) is a small stream in northern Stockholm, Sweden. The drainage area, part of the Royal National City Park and divided into several nature reserves, is shared by the municipalities of Järfälla, Sollentuna, Solna, Stockholm, and Sundbyberg.

Ulriksdal Palace (Swedish: Ulriksdals slott) is a royal palace situated on the banks of the Edsviken in the Royal National City Park in Solna Municipality, 6 km north of Stockholm. It was originally called Jakobsdal for its owner Jacob De la Gardie, who had it built by architect Hans Jacob Kristler in 1643–1645 as a country retreat. He later passed on to his son, Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie, from whom it was purchased in 1669 by Queen Hedvig Eleonora of Sweden. The present design is mainly the work of architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder and dates from the late 17th century.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is an agency of the European Union (EU) whose mission is to strengthen Europe's defences against infectious diseases. It covers a wide spectrum of activities, such as: surveillance, epidemic intelligence, response, scientific advice, microbiology, preparedness, public health training, international relations, health communication, and the scientific journal Eurosurveillance.The centre was established in 2004 and is headquartered in Solna, Sweden.

Kungshamra is a residential area in Bergshamra, Solna Municipality, Sweden, in the northern outskirts of Stockholm. It has about 1370 student flats. The older houses (about 820 of them) are in raw concrete with bold colours on window frames and doors. Newer houses (550, built during 2003-2005) are painted in gray or white, and decorated with French balconies and yellow windows.

The SAS Frösundavik Office Building is an office building in Frösundavik, Solna Municipality, Sweden, north of Stockholm. It serves as the head office of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and the SAS Group. The SAS head office was for a brief period located in a different building on the property of Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sigtuna Municipality.In 2000 Jurian van Meel, author of The European Office: Office Design and National Context, wrote that the former SAS head office "is probably Sweden's best known 'groundscraper'"; Meel stated that Sweden's groundscrapers are more well known compared to high-rise buildings, which according to Meel are not common in Sweden.The building also houses offices of E. Merck AB, the Swedish representation of Merck KGaA Germany. CSC Sverige AB, a subsidiary of Computer Sciences Corporation, also has its offices in the building.

Westfield Mall of Scandinavia is a shopping mall located in Solna in Stockholm, Sweden. It was inaugurated on November 12, 2015, and is the second largest mall in the Nordic countries with 224 stores, many of them with double-height storefronts up to 8 m (26 ft) tall. 50,000 shoppers showed up to the opening of the mall. About 20-25% of the leasable area is dedicated to experiences, including 22 restaurants and a 15 screen multiplex with the first purpose-built commercial IMAX theatre in the Nordic region (and also the second overall IMAX theatre in Sweden after the Cosmonova planetarium at the Swedish Museum of Natural History). The shopping mall has 3,700 parking spaces and a retail gross leasable area of 101,048 m2 (1,087,670 sq ft). The building also house an additional 42,000 m2 (450,000 sq ft) of office space and condominiums.The project cost is estimated at SEK 6,1 billion and the mall is owned by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield with Peab as the main contractor. Located near the Solna commuter rail station, approximately seven minutes from the Stockholm city centre, and the E4 highway, it is part of the Arenastaden project, which includes 450,000 m2 (4,800,000 sq ft) of new office space, the Friends national football arena and 1,500 residential units.In 2019, the mall was bought by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. The mall changed its name from Mall of Scandinavia to Westfield Mall of Scandinavia on September 28, 2019.

The 1986 Svenska Cupen final took place on 2 July 1986 at Råsunda in Solna. The match was contested by Allsvenskan sides Malmö FF and IFK Göteborg. IFK Göteborg played its first final since 1983 and its fourth final in total; Malmö FF played its first final since 1984 and its 15th final in total. Malmö FF won its 13th title with a 2–1 victory.

Nationalarenan, currently known as Friends Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a retractable roof multi-purpose stadium in Stockholm, Sweden. Located next to the lake Råstasjön in Solna, just north of the City Centre, it is the biggest stadium in Scandinavia. Since its opening, the venue has served as Sweden's national stadium for men's football, hence the name Nationalarenan. The main tenants of the stadium are Sweden's men's national football team and Allsvenskan football club AIK; both relocated from their previous home at the Råsunda Stadium. The venue has a total capacity of 65,000 at concerts and 50,000 seated at football matches, but the stadium can be scaled down to provide for smaller events with approximately 20,000 guests.

Solna is a station in Solna Municipality in Stockholm for commuter trains and the Tvärbanan light rail. The lines J40 (Uppsala C-Södertälje C), J41 (Märsta-Södertälje C), J42 (Märsta-Nynäshamn) and L30 (Sickla-Solna station) stop here, as well as ten bus lines. The commuter train station opened in 1895, but was moved a 100 meters in 1903 and moved again in 1911, when the tunnel through the hill Hagalundsberget to the south was completed. In 1955 the name of the station was changed from "Hagalund" to "Solna". The northern entrance is located at a bridge connecting the Arenastaden and Frösunda areas of the Järva district. Arenastaden is home to the Friends Arena and the Westfield Mall of Scandinavia. The southern entrance is located between the districts Hagalund and Råsunda. In 2014 the Tvärbanan line was extended to the south entrance, with a stop called Solna station. A metro station, named "Arenastaden", on a new extension from Odenplan, is planned to have its southern entrance next to the Tvärbanan station, on the other side from the railway station entrance, while the northern exit will be just south of the Arenastaden area. On an average day, 20 900 journeys are done by commuter train from Solna station, 5 200 by Tvärbanan and 4 600 by bus.

Solna Gymnasium is a secondary school in Solna, Sweden, in the Stockholm metropolitan area. It was opened as the Solna Läroverk in April 1948. Crown Prince Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden attended the opening.
