Moss Valley Meadows

Geerlane is a hamlet in North East Derbyshire, England.The hamlet is located in Moss Valley, by the side of The Moss. It has a farm, called Geerlane Farm, where a farmer was killed in 2010 after being trampled on by his cattle.The hamlet is located two-thirds mile (1.1 km) north of Troway, one-half mile (0.80 km) west of Ford, and 1+2⁄3 miles (2.7 km) south-east of Charnock in south-eastern Sheffield. There was formerly a small quarry in Geerlane which provided the hamlet's main source of employment. Since its closure, the local economy has been based around farming.

The Robin Brook is a small stream originating in the south eastern part of the City of Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England. The source of the stream is in the Charnock area of the city, where it flows south, crossing the border into Derbyshire. It meets The Moss at Ford.

Gleadless Townend is an outer city district of Sheffield centred on the junction of the ring road, White Lane (B6054) and Gleadless Road (B6388).

Litfield Farm is a farm in Ridgeway, Derbyshire. The farm was once regarded as being located in a hamlet east of Ridgeway known as Litfield, but is now part of the larger settlement. The farmhouse is a 17th-century Grade II listed building.Litfield, or variations of the name, are mentioned as early as the 15th century, when the name appears on the Eckington Manorial Court Rolls. Due to various families, most notable of which was the Staniforth family, being mentioned in relation to the place, it is likely that Litfield was a loose term applied to the area surrounding the farmhouse. The farmhouse appears to have been in the possession of the Staniforth family for centuries. On 24 April 1587, Robert Sitwell transferred the land to Ralph Staniforth. During the 17th century, a William Staniforth was resident at the farmhouse. The farmhouse eventually passed down to George Staniforth of Barlborough. In 1828, the property is divided following the death of George Staniforth and was sold. In 1842 the Parker family was recorded as residing at the property. Upon its proposed sale in 1859, the Litfield freehold estate of 30 acres consisted of the farmhouse and associated buildings, and also five cottages.Although the house retains most of its original features, it was renovated in 2006.

Herdings Leighton Road is a tram stop on the South Yorkshire Supertram network, opened on 3 April 1995. It is located adjacent to Norton Avenue, and is the only intermediate stop on the Herdings Park branch.

Gleadless is a suburb and parish within the City of Sheffield, it lies five km (three miles) south east of the city centre. It is bordered by the adjoining suburbs of Gleadless Valley (in whose ward the population falls) to the west, Frecheville to the east and Intake to the north. The land to the south is the rural area of North East Derbyshire district which is outside the city boundary. Gleadless was formerly a country hamlet, then village before becoming part of the expanding city of Sheffield in 1921. The word Gleadless comes from the Old English language and means either "forest clearings haunted by a kite" (gleoda) or "bright clearing" (glaed).

Gleadless Townend is a tram stop on the South Yorkshire Supertram network, opened on 5 December 1994. It is located on Ridgeway Road, in Gleadless, north of the White Lane road junction. This stop used to be the terminus of the line before it was extended further to Halfway and Herdings Park in 1995.

Royal Air Force Norton (or RAF Norton), was a non-flying RAF station on the southern edge of Sheffield in Yorkshire, England. The base had two distinct stages in its RAF career, being known as RAF Lightwood between 1939 and 1943, and later RAF Norton between 1943 and 1965. On opening it was part of Balloon Command designated to protect the city of Sheffield, and in its second iteration, the base was part of Signals Command and an aircrew refresher school was also based there.

Birley Hay is a hamlet in North East Derbyshire in the county of Derbyshire in England.

The Herdings is a grade-II listed building located in Herdings, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield, England. Although the current structure dates back to 1675, the original Herdings farm building was recorded as being present as early as the 13th-century.

Troway ( ) is a village in North East Derbyshire, England. Population details are included in the civil parish of Eckington.The village is located in the Moss Valley, on both banks of the Troway Brook and its tributary the Vale Brook. The Troway Brook flows into The Moss near the hamlets of Birley Hay and Ford. In 2007, some major damage to houses in Troway was caused after the Troway Brook burst its banks.The village is located 2.2 miles (3.5 km) West of Eckington, 2 miles (3.2 km) East of Coal Aston, and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) South of Gleadless. Troway used to be home to small quarries, but they closed several years ago. Most people who live in Troway now work in Sheffield.

Herdings Park is a tram stop on the South Yorkshire Supertram network, opened on 3 April 1995. It is located north of Herdings Park. It is adjacent to Raeburn Road, and is the current terminus of the Herdings Park branch and the Purple Route.
