Újezd (Prague)

Prague 11 is a municipal district (městská část) in Prague, Czech Republic. It is located in the south eastern part, 8 km from the City Center. The district is split into two parts, mainly from the perspective of pedestrians, by the south-eastern highway to Brno. Praha 11 comprises Chodov, Opatov and Háje on one side and Roztyly on the other side. Praha 11 is mostly residential district because of the huge panel housing estate called Jižní Město. At the beginning of 2016, it had 77,175 inhabitants. With the city centre it is connected by metro line C. The administrative district (správní obvod) of the same name consists of municipal districts Prague 11, Křeslice, Šeberov and Újezd.

Jižní Město (Czech pronunciation: [ˈjɪʒɲiː ˈmɲɛsto], colloquially Jižňák or Jižák and abbreviated JM) is a panel housing estate situated in an open area in the southeast of Prague. Its name translates from Czech to English as "South City" or "South Town". Home to most of the 90,000 inhabitants of the municipal district Prague 11, part of the Prague 4 administrative district, it is the largest housing estate in the Czech Republic. Large parts of Chodov and Háje, the two districts which belong to Prague 11, are part of Jižní Město. The natural areas Kunratický les and Hostivař Park Forest border the estate, on the west and east sides respectively. The D1 highway connecting Prague to Brno runs through the estate.

Háje (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɦaːjɛ]) is a Prague Metro station and the terminus of Line C. It is named after a local neighborhood, whose name in English literally means groves. Háje station, along with the two stations preceding it, serve Jižní Město, the largest housing estate in the Czech Republic. The station was opened on 7 November 1980 as the southern terminus of the extension from Kačerov and was formerly known as Kosmonautů (meaning [station of] the cosmonauts) until 1990.

The Central Bohemian Region (Czech: Středočeský kraj, German: Mittelböhmische Region) is an administrative unit (Czech: kraj) of the Czech Republic, located in the central part of its historical region of Bohemia. Its administrative centre is in the Czech capital Prague, which lies in the centre of the region. However, the city is not part of it but is a region of its own. The Czech village of Háje was founded in 18th century, and became part of Prague in 1968. Now it is its own cadastral area, part of the administrative district Prague 11 (Prague 4). Its area is 2.36 square kilometres (0.91 sq mi), its population is 23,528 and its population density is 9,969 inhabitants / km2.Háje was founded in 18th century and historically it was part of Hostivař. Háje became part of Prague 1968. The building of Jižní Město (South Town in English), the biggest housing estate in the Czech republic started in Háje in 1971. Most of old village of Háje was demolished and replaced by panel buildings (paneláky). There is one metro station in Háje, the name of this station is Háje (Line C).

Průhonice is a municipality and village in Prague-West District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,800 inhabitants. It is known for Průhonice Park, which has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Opatov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈopatof]) is a Prague Metro station on Line C, serving Jižní Město. The station was formerly known as Družby. It was opened on 7 November 1980 as part of the extension from Kačerov to Kosmonautů (currently Háje).

Petrovice (German Petrowitz) is a borough of Prague, Czech Republic. Petrovice is located in the south eastern part of the city. Petrovice is an independent municipality with its own city hall and city assembly. It is part of the Prague 15 administrative district. It has about 6,151 inhabitants. Petrovice used to be a village founded in the 13th century, while today it is an integrated part of Prague. There is a chateau here as well.
