Háje (Prague)

Háje (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɦaːjɛ]) is a Prague Metro station and the terminus of Line C. It is named after a local neighborhood, whose name in English literally means groves. Háje station, along with the two stations preceding it, serve Jižní Město, the largest housing estate in the Czech Republic. The station was opened on 7 November 1980 as the southern terminus of the extension from Kačerov and was formerly known as Kosmonautů (meaning [station of] the cosmonauts) until 1990.

Prague 11 is a municipal district (městská část) in Prague, Czech Republic. It is located in the south eastern part, 8 km from the City Center. The district is split into two parts, mainly from the perspective of pedestrians, by the south-eastern highway to Brno. Praha 11 comprises Chodov, Opatov and Háje on one side and Roztyly on the other side. Praha 11 is mostly residential district because of the huge panel housing estate called Jižní Město. At the beginning of 2016, it had 77,175 inhabitants. With the city centre it is connected by metro line C. The administrative district (správní obvod) of the same name consists of municipal districts Prague 11, Křeslice, Šeberov and Újezd.

Jižní Město (Czech pronunciation: [ˈjɪʒɲiː ˈmɲɛsto], colloquially Jižňák or Jižák and abbreviated JM) is a panel housing estate situated in an open area in the southeast of Prague. Its name translates from Czech to English as "South City" or "South Town". Home to most of the 90,000 inhabitants of the municipal district Prague 11, part of the Prague 4 administrative district, it is the largest housing estate in the Czech Republic. Large parts of Chodov and Háje, the two districts which belong to Prague 11, are part of Jižní Město. The natural areas Kunratický les and Hostivař Park Forest border the estate, on the west and east sides respectively. The D1 highway connecting Prague to Brno runs through the estate.

Opatov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈopatof]) is a Prague Metro station on Line C, serving Jižní Město. The station was formerly known as Družby. It was opened on 7 November 1980 as part of the extension from Kačerov to Kosmonautů (currently Háje).

Šeberov is a municipal district (městská část) in Prague, Czech Republic.

London Booster is an art installation by Czech artist David Černý. It's a bus fitted with hydraulic arms, allowing it to do push ups, accompanied by audio-visual effects. It was created to celebrate the 2012 Summer Olympics and inspire the Czech Republic Olympic team. It was installed outside the Business Design Centre in Islington, which for the duration of the games was transformed into 'Czech House'. Past the Olympics, the bus is publicly located in Prague neighborhood Chodov. It is located in front of the building of Agrofert company of Andrej Babiš which was a sponsor of the work (next to the bus stop Benkova). It exercises everyday from 3 to 3:30 PM, except for cold days (below 5°C), rainfall, snow cover or strong wind.

The Prague City Archives (Czech: Archiv hlavního města Prahy) is one of the departments of the Prague City Hall. It collects, preserves, processes and makes available archival materials documenting the historical development of Prague since the Middle Ages up to the present. Together with the National Archives of the Czech Republic the Prague City Archives is one of the largest and most important archives in Bohemia.

Galerie Cesty ke světlu is a modern art gallery in Prague. It was founded by the Czech painter and psychologist Zdeněk Hajný in 1994. It covers the work of the artist and includes Cristal caffetery used for spiritual lectures.

The National Archives (Czech: Národní archiv) is the central archive institution of the Czech Republic. It depends of the Ministry of the Interior. The institution have documents dating to the Early Middle Ages. It is located in Prague.

Újezd u Průhonic is a municipal district (městská část) in Prague, Czech Republic.

Chodov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈxodof]) is a suburb of Prague in the Czech Republic. It lies in the south-east of the city, and became part of the Prague municipality in 1968. In terms of the Prague districts defined in 1960, it lay in administrative district 4, and its postal address is still Prague 4. However, since 2001 it has been placed in the administrative district Prague 11; within that, it lies in the Prague 11 municipal district. It has a Metro station, on the C line. It is principally an area of large high-rise post-Second World War housing developments, but since the Velvet Revolution of 1989 there has been rapid development of commercial sites such as car dealerships; there are also some areas of detached housing. There are a number of hotels in the district, some of them large establishments catering to the congress and package holiday trade. Notable buildings include: the Chodovská vodní tvrz or Chodov fort, a round building with its origins in the 13th century (though heavily restored) which now serves as a cultural centre and includes a gallery and a small recital room. the new location (opened on 1 January 1999) of the National Archives, in a striking modern building Centrum Chodov, the Chodov Shopping Center – one of the biggest shopping malls in Prague and in the whole Czech Republic with more than 210 stores; located above the Chodov metro station.

Záběhlice is a cadastral area of Prague, Czech Republic, lying in both the Prague 10 and Prague 4 administrative districts.
