Malá Chuchle

Chuchle battle was a student brawl fought in a Chuchle restaurant on June 29, 1881, resulting in several wounds and a general hangover, a swatch of Czech and German chauvinism in the late 19th century, just before the Charles-Ferdinand University was divided into Czech Charles-Ferdinand University and German Charles-Ferdinand University part in 1882.

Barrandov Studios is a set of film studios in Prague, Czech Republic. It is the largest film studio in the country and one of the largest in Europe. Several major Hollywood productions have been made here, including Mission Impossible, The Bourne Identity, Casino Royale, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Zookeeper's Wife, and others.

Braník Bridge (Czech: Branický most), also known as the Bridge of the Intelligentsia (Czech: most Inteligence) is a reinforced-concrete rail bridge with a pedestrian path in Prague, Czech Republic, crossing the Vltava river from Malá Chuchle to the border of Braník and Hodkovičky. The bridge is 910 metres long and 14 metres wide.As a part of Branická spojka (the Braník Branch Line) the structure links the Prague–Pilsen line to the Nusle–Modřany branch line. The walkway links the Braník district to the Malá Chuchle district.

Velká Chuchle is part of Prague situated in the southwest of the city. It is part of Praha 16 administrative district. The district includes Prague-Velká Chuchle Racecourse, Prague's only horse-racing track, offering flat racing on most Sundays from April to October. The track was founded in 1906. This horse - racing track ("Hippodroma") was very often visited by the first Czechoslovak president Thomas Garrigue Masaryk, and in 1930, the primary school in Velká Chuchle was named after his wife Charlotte. On a sunny Sunday, September 6, 2020, the 100th "Czechoslovak" (Czech) derby was held at the racecourse. There was also a great defilé of President Masaryk, represented by a race rider and accompanied by four legionnaires, as well as a parade of racewear of the First Republic. Slovak stallion Opasan won the main race of three-year-old horses with jockey Radek Koplík, so the Slovak anthem was played above the racecourse on this festive day.Malá Chuchle, a part of Velká Chuchle, is the site of so-called Chuchle battle in 1881. Prague-Velká Chuchle is a district in Prague, Czech Republic. It is situated in the southern part of the city, in the administrative district Prague 16. The cadastral area Velká Chuchle is part of this district.

Barrandov is a neighbourhood in southwest Prague, Czech Republic, located in the cadastral district of Hlubočepy, in Prague 5. It is situated on and around some rock formations above the Vltava River. Barrandov is known for its film industry and the film studios located in the old part of the district. The Czech national television services Nova and Barrandov TV broadcast from here. Old Barrandov consists of the villa quarter, Barrandov Terraces, and Barrandov Studios, and New Barrandov is located to the west of the old part. Barrandov has a population of about 20,000. A new tram line into New Barrandov was built in 2003. The name Barrandov is derived from the fossil-rich rocks that were studied by French geologist Joachim Barrande. The district was named in honour of Barrande on 24 February 1928.

Hlubočepy is a cadastral district of Prague, Czech Republic. In 2015 it had 22,466 inhabitants. In this cadastral district lies a neighbourhood called Barrandov which is famous for its film studios (Barrandov Studios). The studios are now often called the "European Hollywood" or "Hollywood of the East" because of the increasing interest of western productions (such as the movies Mission Impossible, The Bourne Identity, Casino Royale, Prince Caspian, and many others). The name Barrandov is derived from the fossil-rich rocks which were studied by the French geologist Joachim Barrande.The German name of Hlubočepy is Kohlfelden.

The Prague-Velká Chuchle Racecourse is a racetrack where canter and harness horse racing is held. It is located on the southern outskirts of Prague, in the administrational district of Velká Chuchle. Races are held there from April to mid-November. The track measures 2180m in length.

The Smíchov – Hostivice railway line or Prague Semmering is a railway line in the Czech Republic. The line was built in 1868–1872 by the Buštěhrad Railway company (Czech: Buštěhradská dráha, German: Buschtiehrader Eisenbahn) as part of its connection between Prague and Chomutov. The line was opened for cargo transport on 3 July 1872. It was used to transport coal and wood to Prague. Transport of passengers followed on 16 September 1872. Today, it is part of line 122 from Praha hlavní nádraží to Rudná, though only in operation between Prague and Hostivice, as line S65 of the integrated Esko Prague system. On the 9 km (5.6 mi) long section between Praha-Smíchov and Prague-Jinonice the line climbs an elevation difference of 90 metres (300 ft). There are two large viaducts, 20 metres (66 ft) and 22 metres (72 ft) high.

Barrandov Terraces (Czech: Barrandovské terasy) is a complex of buildings in the southern part of Prague, Czech Republic. It is dominated by the functional view restaurant Terraces (Czech: Terasy) designed by architect Max Urban (1927-31). Barrandov Terraces are a part of the project of Václav M. Havel for the construction of a neighbourhood on the slope of the Habrová hill. The project was inspired by Cliff House near San Francisco. The building is owned by the company Barrandovské terasy, a.s., its major shareholder being Michalis Dzikos.
