Beeston bananas

Beeston was an urban district in Nottinghamshire, England, from 1894 to 1935. The urban district was created by the Local Government Act 1894 on the borders of the Beeston Civil Parish and the Beeston Urban Sanitary District. It bordered the county borough of Nottingham in the north east, Stapleford Rural District in the north west, two different disconnected parts of the Basford Rural District to the north and south, and to the west the South East Derbyshire Rural District and Long Eaton in Derbyshire. In 1935 it was merged by a County Review Order with Stapleford Rural District into the Beeston and Stapleford Urban District, and is now part of Broxtowe Borough Council.

Beeston is a town in the Borough of Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire, England, 3.4 miles (5.5 km) south-west of Nottingham city centre. To its north-east is the University of Nottingham's main campus, University Park. The pharmaceutical and retail chemist group Boots has its headquarters 0.6 miles (1 km) east of the centre of Beeston, on the border with Broxtowe and the City of Nottingham. To the south lie the River Trent and the village of Attenborough, with extensive wetlands.

This is a list of halls of residence on the various campuses of the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, England. The University of Nottingham has a particularly well developed system of halls located on its campus. The halls acts a microcosms of the university at large and provide a community-level forum for the interaction of undergraduates, postgraduates and senior academics. As of 2020, incoming undergraduate students do not apply for a specific hall but a room type and a 'zone'; they can be allocated into any of the halls in that zone. The zones are as follows: Central Zone: Derby and Hugh Stewart North Zone: Cripps and Lenton & Wortley Sports Zone: Ancaster, Beeston, Nightingale, Rutland and Sherwood West Zone: Cavendish, Florence Boot and Willoughby Quiet Zone: Lincoln (part of a trial for 2020, aimed at students in search of a quieter lifestyle with no alcohol and earlier quiet hours.) The halls are generally named either after counties, districts or places in the English East Midlands (Nottingham having been originally conceived as a regional university for this area) or significant people associated with the university. Beeston, Lenton, Lincoln, Derby, Rutland, Sherwood, Newark, Southwell, Ancaster and Melton halls fall into the former category; Hugh Stewart, Cripps, Cavendish, Nightingale, Florence Boot, Wortley and Willoughby into the latter.

Beeston Town Hall is a municipal building in Foster Avenue in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, England. The building was formerly the offices of Beeston and Stapleford Urban District Council and is now used by the Redeemer Church.

Beeston bus station was a former bus station that served the town of Beeston, in the English county of Nottinghamshire. It was closed on 12 July 2015, when it was superseded by the nearby Beeston transport interchange, which includes services on the newly opened Nottingham Express Transit line 1 between Nottingham and Chilwell, as well as the bus routes that previously used the bus station.The bus station was in the town centre just off Station Road and consisted of six stands in total. The main operator's using the bus station were Nottingham City Transport, Trent Barton, Premiere Travel and YourBus. The bus station was at the heart of the town and over recent years Nottinghamshire County Council funds were spent upgrading the site.
