One Port Street

Ancoats is an area of Manchester, England, next to the Northern Quarter, the northern part of Manchester city centre. Historically in Lancashire, Ancoats became a cradle of the Industrial Revolution and has been called "the world's first industrial suburb". For many years, from the late 18th century onwards, Ancoats was a thriving industrial district. The area suffered accelerating economic decline from the 1930s and depopulation in the years after the Second World War, particularly during the slum clearances of the 1960s. Since the 1990s, Ancoats' industrial heritage has been recognised and its proximity to the city centre has led to investment and substantial regeneration. The southern part of the area is branded as New Islington, by UK property developers Urban Splash, while the north retains the Ancoats name, with redevelopment centred on the Daily Express Building. In 2021 a plaque was put in place acknowledging Ancoats' status as a Little Italy.For the purpose of local government elections, the area is part of the Ancoats and Beswick ward on Manchester City Council.

Brownsfield Mill, located on Binns Place, Great Ancoats Street in Manchester, England, is an early 19th century room and cotton-spinning power mill constructed in 1825. Hartwell describes it as "unusually complete and well preserved". The chimney is now Manchester's oldest surviving mill chimney. The building housed the A.V. Roe and Company aviation factory in the early 20th century. In 1988, it was designated a Grade II* listed building.

Jackson's Warehouse (also known as Jacksons Warehouse) is a nineteenth-century warehouse in the Piccadilly Basin area of Manchester.

Royal Mill, which is located on the corner of Redhill Street and Henry Street, Ancoats, in Manchester, England, is an early-twentieth-century cotton mill, one of the last of "an internationally important group of cotton-spinning mills" sited in East Manchester. Royal Mill was constructed in 1912 on part of the site of the earlier McConnel & Kennedy mills, established in 1798. It was originally called New Old Mill and was renamed following a royal visit by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1942. A plaque commemorates the occasion. The Ancoats mills collectively comprise "the best and most-complete surviving examples of early large-scale factories concentrated in one area".

The Greater Manchester Police Museum is a former police station converted into a museum and archives detailing the history of policing in Greater Manchester, England. It was home to Manchester City Police and then its successors Manchester and Salford Police and Greater Manchester Police from 1879 until 1979.Upon its conversion to a museum in 1981 the interior was redesigned to reflect its past and now serves as a reminder of Victorian policing. The building was Grade II listed in 1994 as Former Newton Street Police Station.

McConnel & Kennedy Mills are a group of cotton mills on Redhill Street in Ancoats, Manchester, England. With the adjoining Murrays' Mills, they form a nationally important group. The complex consists of six mills, Old Mill built in 1797, Long Mill from 1801 and Sedgewick Mill built between 1818 and 1820. A further phase of building in the early 20th century added Sedgewick New Mill in 1912, Royal Mill, originally the New Old Mill built in 1912 but renamed in 1942, and Paragon Mill also built in 1912. Paragon Mill at eight storeys high was the world's tallest cast iron structure when it was built.

Sunshine Studios is an international dance organisation. It was founded by hip-hop teacher Jerry Tse (a.k.a. JV) in Manchester, England, in 2006 with his flat mate Tim Barlow. Sunshine Studios gives artists of various performing and visual arts studio space and the chance to run public classes. It uses a similar business model to other dance studios such as Pineapple Studios in London and Steps On Broadway in New York City. The studios offer a variety of workshops and nearly 100 classes per week. These include urban art, live music, hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz, salsa, pilates, pole-dancing, flamenco, cheerleading, contemporary dance, breakdancing and other forms of performing arts.

The Crown and Kettle is a historic public house in Ancoats, Manchester, England. It is located on the corner of Oldham Road and Great Ancoats Street. The Campaign for Real Ale considers it a "pub with outstanding conversion or restoration."

The Daily Express Building, located on Great Ancoats Street, Manchester, England, is a Grade II* listed building which was designed by engineer Sir Owen Williams. It was built in 1939 to house one of three Daily Express offices; the other two similar buildings are located in London and Glasgow. The pre-World War II building is notable for its timeless, "space-age" quality and is often mistaken for being much younger than it is due to its futuristic avant garde appearance. The building is futurist art deco, specifically streamline moderne with its horizontal lines and curved corners. It is clad in a combination of opaque and vitrolite glass. It was considered highly radical at the time, and incorporates what was at the time a growing technology, curtain walling.Unlike the London and Glasgow Express buildings, the Manchester building was designed by the engineer for all three buildings, Sir Owen Williams. It is considered the best of the three Express Buildings, and is admired by architects (such as Norman Foster) and Mancunians alike. The building was Grade II*-listed in 1974, just 35 years after its initial construction, and remains Greater Manchester's youngest II*-listed building.

50 Newton Street is a Grade II listed former warehouse in Manchester, England. Located on Newton Street in the Northern Quarter area, it was built in 1906-8 by a design from Charles Clegg & Son. It was designed with a degree of flair and panache and is described by English Heritage as an example of "Free Baroque" architecture. The hat factory it replaced was destroyed by fire in 1906.

The Castle Hotel is a historic public house in Manchester, England. The Campaign for Real Ale considers it to have an "interior of exceptional national historic importance."

The Cheshire Ring is a canal cruising circuit or canal ring, which includes sections of six canals in and around Cheshire and Greater Manchester in North West England: the Ashton Canal, Peak Forest Canal, Macclesfield Canal, Trent and Mersey Canal, Bridgewater Canal and Rochdale Canal. Because it takes boats approximately one week to complete the circuit, it is suited to narrowboat holidays that start at and return to the same location. The route has 92 locks and is 97 miles (156 km) long. It passes through contrasting landscapes between Manchester city centre and rural Cheshire with views of the Peak District and the Cheshire Plain.
