Calistoga Spa Hot Springs, formerly known as Calistoga Hot Sulfur Springs is a geothermal spring system and resort located in the upper Napa Valley town of Calistoga, California. The resort has been continuously operated as a hot spring resort since the early 1900s.

The Sam Brannan Cottage, at 109 Wappo Ave. in Calistoga, California, was built in 1862. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The listing included four contributing buildings. It was originally a 22 by 41 feet (6.7 m × 12.5 m) wood-frame building, but has been somewhat modified. Its National Register nomination states that it is:significant for being the last of the 25 guest cottages of Sam Brannan's Calistoga Hot Springs Resort remaining on its original site, complete with the "weedy palm" as described by Robert Louis Stevenson in the Silverado Squatters. The development of the area's geothermal resource by Brannan was extremely significant to the commercial growth of the 19th Century Napa County and quickly inspired many other such resorts for which the valley became famous and remains so today. The cottage's architecture utilizes classical elements to convey a feeling of civilization and leisure in the rugged early days of Calistoga in the 1860s. Brannan's selection of this design with gabled roofs and large arch-enclosed porches was enhanced by great attention to the landscaping around the hot springs, including the palm tree planted in front of each cottage. Today, the majority of the now-mature palms tower over the small town, still marking the original location of the cottages. In 1852, when Sam Brannan first saw "Indian Hot Springs", Calistoga's original name, the area was populated with a few early settlers. In 1859, he purchased the 2,000 acres surrounding the Hot Springs and named it Calistoga from joining the words California and Saratoga (New York's world-famous mineral water spa). By 1862, he opened the resort and Calistoga grew quickly as a result of this service industry and the quicksilver mining nearby. In 1862, the resort, in its prime, boasted such amenities as a large hot springs bath house, an assortment of small bathing pavilions, landscaped parks, a druidical temple built of petrified wood from the nearby Petrified Forest, a roller skating rink, a dance pavilion, a hotel with dining room, an observatory for viewing Napa Valley, and a tree-lined race track with stables where at one time Messrs. Stanford, Lick, Hopkins, and Hearst kept horses. Twenty-five guest cottages surrounded the Hot Springs Resort. Brannan chose two different designs; the cottage at 109 Wappo is the only remaining example of its type. Two cottages of the other type survive; both have been moved from their original sites. The cottage is privately owned and operates as part of a hotel called the Brannan Cottage Inn.

Calistoga (Wappo: Nilektsonoma) is a city in Napa County, California, United States. Located in the North Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, the city had a population of 5,228 as of the 2020 census. Calistoga was founded in 1868 when the California Pacific Railroad was built, establishing the town as a tourist destination for its Calistoga Hot Springs. Today, Calistoga continues as a popular tourist destination in Wine Country, owing to its vineyards and historic landmarks.

Chateau Pacheteau, in Calistoga, California in Napa Valley, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.The "chateau" is a four-story residence built in 1906. The National Register nominator termed it an example of "stone church architecture", and asserted it resembles Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. It is north-facing, and is 35 by 80 feet (11 m × 24 m) in plan. Its "most unusual feature is the defensive stepped false front façade including a crenellated parapet composed of crenels and merlons, which appear again above the stone portico below. The parapet obscures the wood shake covered gable roof behind it."It was commissioned by Jacques Pacheteau. In its construction W.A. Harrison of St. Helena was in charge of carpentry, and the masonry work was done by Bennasini & Maggetta.The listing included a second contributing building--a detached carriage house--and five non-contributing buildings. The carriage house, also built in 1906, is also built of stone, and is two-storied with a central cupola above. It was designed by architect William Corlett.

Calistoga ( ka-list-ohguh) is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located in the northwestern portion of Napa County, California, within the Napa Valley appellation surrounding the locale of Calistoga. It was established as the nation's 196th, the state's 55th and the county's seventeenth appellation on December 8, 2009 by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted in 2003, by James P. "Bo" Barrett of Chateau Montelena Winery and Vineyard, on behalf of the Calistoga viticulture community, proposing a viticultural area in Napa Valley to be known as "Calistoga". The name Calistoga dates back to 1857, with the first vine plantings in 1862. Viticultural and winery census data from 1880 lists Calistoga as a distinct region separate from Napa. Despite sharing the name, Calistoga appellation does not encompass the entirety of the town. The area is noted for its topographical diversity and uniform geology, with bedrock almost exclusively made through volcanic action. The hot days provide color and flavor in the wines, while the cool nights help to maintain acidity and structure The appellation abuts the Diamond Mountain District to the south and west, the St. Helena to the southeast, and the Howell Mountain is a short way to the east. The appellation is distinguished by its volcanic soil, high temperatures up to 100 °F (38 °C) during the day, and cool nights during the growing season due to breezes from the Russian River, causing the highest diurnal temperature variation in the Napa Valley up to 50 °F (28 °C). In 2024, the Crystal Springs of Napa Valley appellation was established adjacent to Calistoga AVA's southeastern boundary. During the comment period, a vineyard was noted as split between the proposed AVA and the established Calistoga. The vineyard, known as the Crystal Springs Vineyard, sat along North Fork of Crystal Springs Road between the northwestern portion of the proposed AVA and the eastern portion of the Calistoga AVA. Approximately 11 acres (4 ha) of the vineyard lay within the Calistoga boundary, and the remaining 6 acres (2 ha) within the proposed Crystal Springs. As requested, TTB ruled on modifying the boundary of the established Calistoga AVA placing the vineyard entirely within the Crystal Springs AVA.

Twomey Cellars (pronounced too-me) is a California winery. It was established in 1999 by the Duncan Family, who have operated the successful Silver Oak Cellars in California since 1972. The Duncan Family started Twomey Cellars to pursue varietals other than Cabernet Sauvignon. Twomey has three wineries: one in Calistoga in the Napa Valley; one in Healdsburg in the Russian River Valley; one in Philo in Anderson Valley, and produces mainly Pinot noir and Sauvignon blanc. Twomey’s Sauvignon blanc is a blend of Sauvignon blanc grapes from their estate vineyards at their wineries in Napa Valley, Anderson Valley, and Russian River Valley.Twomey is named after Ray Duncan's mother, Velma Marie Twomey Duncan. Nate Weis is Director of Winemaking for both Twomey and Silver Oak. In 2007, Twomey hired Ben Cane, a Pinot noir specialist who became Twomey’s Pinot noir and Sauvignon blanc Winemaker in 2008. Twomey's 2009 Russian River Valley Pinot noir was awarded first place in the American Wine Society's National Tasting Project in 2012. As of 2017 Twomey produces about 20,000 cases a year.

The Rock of Ages Festival is a Christian music festival held every October in Calistoga, California, United States. It was established in 1999 and has grown to become one of Northern California's biggest rock festivals. The Rock of Ages Festival presents speakers and music on four stages ranging in style from rock, rap, and Reggae to punk, big band, Latino, and more. The festival also presents workshops on subjects from marriage and relationships, to creation science and local ministry. The Rock of Ages Festival has alternative stages featuring sports shows including a skate park and pro skateboarders, BMX teams, motocross performers, sword swallowers, break dance teams, and more. In addition there is a Latino stage with Hispanic music and speakers, and a children's stage with entertainment, performances and interactive speakers featuring messages for families and kids. The Rock of Ages Festival has many vendors featuring a multitude of wares, services and food, mission projects, opportunities to take foreign mission trips, and organizations that support sponsoring needy children of the world.

Sterling Vineyards is a winery near Calistoga, California, owned by Treasury Wine Estates. The winery achieved international recognition when its wine won first place in the Ottawa Wine Tasting of 1981.

Diamond Mountain District is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located in Napa County California in the northwest portion of the Napa Valley landform and appellation. It was established as the nation's 145th, the state's 87th and the county's fifteenth AVA on June 1, 2001 by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted by Rudy von Strasser of Von Strasser Winery, on behalf of the Diamond Mountain Appellation Committee, representing 15 growers and vintners proposing a viticultural area in Napa Valley named "Diamond Mountain." The AVA boundaries are defined by the Napa-Sonoma county line to the west, Petrified Forest to the north, the 400-foot (122 m) line of altitude running parallel to Route 29 on the east, and the Spring Mountain District to the south. This places the southern part of the city of Calistoga in the appellation, with the northern part located in the Calistoga AVA since 2010. The appellation sits at a higher elevation than most of Napa Valley's wine region, resulting in less cool fog coming in from San Pablo Bay, and more direct exposure to sunlight. The soil is also very porous which allows it to cool down quickly despite the increased sunlight.

Castello di Amorosa is a winery located near Calistoga, California. The winery opened to the public in April 2007, as the project of a fourth-generation vintner, Dario Sattui, who also owns and operates the V. Sattui Winery named after his great-grandfather, Vittorio Sattui, who originally established a winery in San Francisco in 1885 after emigrating from Italy to California.The winery property was once part of an estate owned by Edward Turner Bale. In 1993, Sattui purchased 171 acres (69 ha) for $3.2 million, then spent another $40 million to construct the castle, outbuildings, and the winery inside the castle; construction work began in 1995.During the Glass Fire that began on September 27, 2020, the farmhouse suffered major damage, the entire 2020 vintage of the wine Fantasia was lost, but the castle was left unharmed.

The Monte Vista and Diamond Mountain Vineyard, at 2121 Diamond Mountain Rd. in Calistoga, California, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. The listing included five contributing buildings and a contributing site.It is a six building farm complex and a vineyard.The property, then a 120 acres (49 ha) area on the eastern slope of Diamond Mountain, was purchased by Andrew Rasmussen, an immigrant from Denmark, from George W. Briggs in 1895. Ramussen commissioned the building of a farmhouse, carriage house and barn by a John Bradbury.It was a single family farm until Prohibition began in 1920.
