Athena is a Grade II-listed events venue in the cultural quarter of Leicester City Centre, England. Built originally as an Odeon Cinema in 1936, it closed for most of the 1990s and remained vacant up until 2005, where the building was restored as a multi-discipline events venue.

The Central Baptist Church, also known as the Charles Street Baptist Chapel, is a Baptist church on Charles Street in Leicester, Leicestershire, England, UK. It is affiliated with the Baptist Union of Great Britain. Leicester in the 19th century was known as the ‘Metropolis of Dissent’ with a large number of non-conformist chapels and churches. There have been numerous places of worship of various denominations, including the Baptists. Numerous chapels were built since the 17th century, many in the 19th century.The Charles Street Baptist Chapel was designed by William Flynt, a leading local architect, and constructed in 1830. The congregation of the Belvoir Street Chapel united with that of Charles Street in the 1940s and became known as the United Baptist Church. It was designated a Grade II listed building (1074071) in 1973. It was named the Central Baptist Church in 1983 and is the last surviving of several Baptist churches in Leicester City Centre.The building also houses the William Carey Museum, dedicated to William Carey, who was instrumental in the formation of the Baptist Missionary Society.

City Gallery was a contemporary art gallery in Leicester, England. It closed 9 January 2010.The gallery exhibited arts and crafts including international work but also local work reflecting the city's cultural diversity. The gallery had links with local schools and colleges holding events and workshops for young people.

The Curve Theatre is a theatre in Leicester, England, based in the cultural quarter in Leicester City Centre. Before being named Curve, it was referred to as Leicester Performing Arts Centre. It is adjacent to the Leicester Athena conference and banqueting centre.

Leicester railway station (formerly Leicester Campbell Street and Leicester London Road) is a mainline railway station in the city of Leicester in Leicestershire, England. The station is managed by East Midlands Railway and owned by Network Rail. The station is served by CrossCountry and East Midlands Railway services. Leicester station was opened in 1840 by the Midland Counties Railway, and rebuilt in 1894 and 1978. It is on the Midland Main Line, which runs from London St Pancras to Sheffield and Nottingham. It is 99 miles 7 chains (159.5 km) north of London St Pancras.

Phoenix Cinema and Arts Centre is a cinema, art gallery and café bar in the city centre of Leicester, England. The two modern cinema screens show everything from micro-budget independent films to the latest Hollywood blockbusters, and there are often festivals and events. The regularly changing art programme presents work by local and international artists, and the education programme provides courses for people of all ages to learn about, and create their own, film and art. During 2014-2015 the venue hosted over 200,000 visitors.Phoenix is a charity with an overarching aim to 'bring inspiring film and art to all' and was established in 1989. This mission is enacted through its education programme, grants and events to develop upcoming artistic talent and efforts to widen access to cinema, especially through its travelling community cinema. Much of this work is financed through its mainstream cinema ticket sales and its cafe-bar, with sales in these areas increasing by around 10% during 2014-2015.The venue is currently situated in the Phoenix Square building. Work began on constructing the £21.5 million scheme in November 2007 and was completed in Autumn 2009: Phoenix Square officially opened on 19 November 2009. The cinema replaces the Phoenix Arts Centre, and maintains strong links with De Montfort University. The building houses a digital exhibition space and digital production facilities, two cinema screens, a screen room and screen lounge. Space is provided for 37 new creative businesses, as well as a cafe/bar open to the public. The venue was formerly known as Phoenix Square, and has been previously referred to as Leicester Digital Media Centre.

The A594 Central Ring is the name of Leicester's central distributor road network.With the continuing regeneration of the inner city, the Central Ring has become a route within the city centre rather than one that encloses it; especially near the New Walk/Freemen's/University of Leicester and the Bede Island/Waterside/De Montfort University districts, to the south and west of the urban core respectively.

The Little Theatre is a theatre venue based in Leicester, England which is operated by the Leicester Drama Society (LDS). The Theatre has a main auditorium which seats 349, along with an additional studio space. The theatre facilities include a bar, two rehearsal spaces, library and costume hire. The Little Theatre hosts around 200 productions a year, has an annual turnover of £580,000 and receives 50,000 visitors a year. The theatre is equipped for audio description. Productions at The Little Theatre are primarily plays from the resident amateur theatre company LDS and its members. LDS produce around 200 productions a year, with each season consisting of 12 plays and 1 pantomime. LDS productions usually consist of 6 evening performances and 1 matinee performance. LDS also hire the venue to professional acts, other community groups and events. Acts have included Prunella Scales, William Roache, Topping and Butch and Charles Dance. A youth theatre group also operates for ages 8–12, and 13–18. Leicester born playwright Joe Orton and actor Richard Attenborough are both former alumni from the society.

The Grand Hotel is a Grade II listed large hotel on Granby Street in the City centre of Leicester, England. It is now known as the Mercure Leicester The Grand Hotel. It was designed by Cecil Ogden and Amos Hall and built between 1897-98 by Orson Wright. The wedding-cake style top on the corner of Grandby Street and Belvoir Street was added by Amos Hall who also designed the Silver Arcade in the Edwardian period. The Kings Hall with its ornate gilt capped columns, and extravagant use of decorative marble was envisaged by Orson Wright and designed by Amos Hall. Located on the first floor it could cater for 350 people, part was at one time a cinema. The hotel has always been considered one of Leicester's most prestigious, but arguably its heyday was during Victorian times. The Hotel is in an area designated Heritage Action Zone, allowing the securing of a grant from Historic England in 2022 to return the hotel entrance and frontage shops to their original Victorian appearance.Today the hotel is rated as 4 star and is operated by Mercure Hotels, a division of the multinational hotel company Accor.
