Matosinhos Sul is a light rail station on the Porto Metro system in the municipality of Matosinhos, Portugal. The station is on line A of the Metro, which provides a direct connection to the centre of the city of Porto. It is situated near Matosinhos beach and was opened in 2002. While much of the first stage of the Porto Metro was built using the trackbed of the network of 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge railways that served the area to the north of Porto, including a line to Matosinhos, the Matosinhos Sul station is on a new alignment created for the Metro. The new station was on the first section of the Porto Metro to open and was inaugurated on 7 December 2002, with commercial services starting on 1 January 2003. Matosinhos Sul is a through station on line A, and the point at which the line moves from an east-west alignment to a north-south one. The next station to the north is Brito Capelo. To the east, the next station is Câmara de Matosinhos. The platforms are at street level, with two through tracks served by two side platforms accessible directly from the street. There are four or five trains per hour in each direction.

The new station was on the first section of the Porto Metro to open and was inaugurated on 7 December 2002, with commercial services starting on 1 January 2003. Senhor de Matosinhos is the terminus of line A, and the next station after departure is Mercado. The platforms are at street level, with two through tracks served by two side platforms accessible directly from the street. Trains arrive on one platform, and run past the station to reverse before departing from the other platform. There are four or five trains per hour in each direction.

She Changes, known locally as anémona (the anemone), is a sculpture designed by artist Janet Echelman for the cities of Porto and Matosinhos, Northern Portugal. The installation consists of three steel poles, cables, a 20-ton steel ring and a net structure of varying densities and colors. The sculpture is Echelman's first permanent public art installation.

Circuito da Boavista is a street circuit in Porto, Portugal, which was used twice for the Formula One Portuguese Grand Prix. The original course began at the harbor-front "Esplanada do Rio de Janeiro", continued on "Avenida da Boavista", (hence the circuit's name), and then twisted its way through small neighborhoods back to the start-finish line. The first Grand Prix was held in 1958, and saw an act of sportsmanship by Stirling Moss. Moss came to the defense of his countryman and title rival Mike Hawthorn, who faced a penalty for having driven towards oncoming traffic after a spin. Moss persuaded the stewards not to disqualify Hawthorn, who retained his second place and 6 points. Hawthorn eventually won the drivers championship by 1 point over Moss. The 1960 running was a race of attrition, with only four cars finishing within five laps of winner Jack Brabham. Accidents and mechanical problems ended the day early for future champions John Surtees, Phil Hill, Graham Hill and others.

Estádio do Mar is a multi-use stadium in Matosinhos, Portugal. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Leixões. The stadium seats 6,798 and was built in 1963 and inaugurated on 1 January 1964 with a match against Benfica, who won 4–0.
