FENIX Museum of Migration

Montevideo is a 43-storey, 139.5 m (458 ft) residential skyscraper on the river Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Montevideo logo on the roof is an 8 by 8 m (26 by 26 ft) letter "M" which brings the tower's total height to 152.3 m (500 ft). The logo is also designed to be a giant wind vane. Designed by Mecanoo architecture firm principal, Francine Houben, the building is one of the tallest woman-designed buildings in the world. The tower was opened 19 December 2005, featuring 192 apartment units, 6,050 m2 (65,122 sq ft) of office space, and 1,933 m2 (20,807 sq ft) of retail space. The building is named after the Uruguay capital city, Montevideo.

Hotel New York is a hotel in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, based in the former office building of the Holland America Lines (Nederlandsch Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Maatschappij). It was used as temporary accommodation for European emigres in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: "Often, package deals were available which would combine a train ticket, hotel accommodation and passage over the oceans."When sailing from Rotterdam to New York was superseded by flying, the building became derelict in the 1980s. It was squatted in 1988.The building received a new lease on life when entrepreneurs Daan van der Have and Hans Loos, together with designer Dorine de Vos saw the possibility of making a hotel. After several years of rebuilding, the hotel opened in 1993. Since 2006 Hotel New York is operated by WestCord Hotels, the same company that owns the ss Rotterdam, the 1950's flagship of the Holland Amerika Lijn. Situated in the Kop van Zuid neighbourhood, the building has been a national heritage site since 2000.The Dutch singer Anouk wrote her album Hotel New York in the hotel.

Katendrecht is a former village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is now a neighbourhood of Rotterdam, on the south bank of the Nieuwe Maas. Nowadays it is the name of the peninsula which lies between the Rijnhaven and the Maashaven. Katendrecht was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1874, when it merged with Charlois. The neighbourhood covers an area of 1,18 km² with 4,760 inhabitants. In the twentieth century it was the most well known and even famous red light district of Rotterdam with many entertainment venues for sailors. The neighborhood's nickname is De Kaap.

World Port Centre is a 33-storey, 123.1 m (404 ft) skyscraper in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Eneco, the trading name of Eneco Groep N.V., is a producer and suppliers of natural gas, electricity and heat in the Netherlands, serving more than 2 million business and residential customers. Eneco headquarters are located in Rotterdam. It also carries out energy trading and is involved in sustainable energy projects. Eneco is the largest power company in South Holland.

The Rotterdam Cruise Terminal is a building on the Wilhelmina Pier, Rotterdam. The Cruise Terminal served as the arrival and departure point of Holland America Line and is considered part of the city’s social and industrial heritage. The Cruise Terminal is still used by large passenger vessels that visit Rotterdam. The Terminal is now known for its cafe/restaurant located inside with a hall of 3,800 square metres (41,000 sq ft). The "Turquoise Carpet" event for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 took place at the Terminal on 16 May 2021. The Terminal was due to host the "Golden Carpet" and Opening Ceremony events for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 before its cancellation.

New Orleans is a 44-storey, 158.3 m (519 ft) residential skyscraper in Rotterdam, Netherlands, designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira. It is currently the tallest residential building (and second tallest building overall) in the Netherlands. The Netherlands Photo Museum (Dutch: Nederlands Fotomuseum) (NFM) is a photography museum in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, that was founded in 1989.The museum collection consists of many historical, social and cultural images from the 20th and 21st century, from the Netherlands and elsewhere. It has control over more than 150 archives (three million plus images) taken by Dutch photographers. The archives are stored in climate controlled film storage facilities. It is located at the Wilhelminakade in the previous Holland America Line workshop building, also known as the Las Palmas building. The Netherlands Photo Museum was founded under the name Nederlands Foto Archief. and was subsidised by the Dutch government. In 2003, it was reborn, through an endowment from Hein Wertheimer, a wealthy Dutch lawyer, and renamed to Nederlands Fotomuseum. Visitors to the NFM may browse the museum’s library of 120000 digital images, watch short films or participate in educational activities. The museum has large exhibition rooms and a rotating display of Dutch history. KPN Tower is a 96.5 metre tall office building in Rotterdam (a city in the Netherlands). It was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano and construction began in 1998. The building was officially opened by its owner KPN on September 28, 2000. The concept and design of the motion graphic light installation is from Studio Dumbar.

The Wereldmuseum Rotterdam (formerly known as the Museum voor Land- en Volkenkunde) is an ethnographic museum, situated at Willemskade in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The museum was founded in 1883 and shows more than 1800 ethnographic objects from various cultures in Asia, Oceania, Africa, the Americas and the Islamic heritage.

Erasmusbrug (English: "Erasmus Bridge") is a combined cable-stayed and bascule bridge, construction began in 1986 and was completed in 1996. It crosses the Nieuwe Maas in the centre of Rotterdam, connecting the north and south parts of this city, second largest in the Netherlands. The bridge was named in 1992 after Desiderius Erasmus, a prominent Christian Renaissance humanist also known as Erasmus of Rotterdam. The Erasmus Bridge is Rotterdam's most important landmark and is even part of the city's official logo.

Kop van Zuid is a neighborhood of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, located on the south bank of the Nieuwe Maas opposite the center of town. The district is relatively young and includes the Wilhelmina Pier as well as the V bounded by the Rose Street and railway line on one side and the Rotterdam-Dordrecht Hilledijk, Hill Street and Rijnhaven on the other. The Kop van Zuid is built on old, abandoned port areas around the Binnenhaven, Entrepothaven, Spoorweghaven, Rijnhaven and the Wilhelmina Pier. These port sites and the Nieuwe Maas made for a large physical distance between the center and north of the Maas and southern Rotterdam. By converting this area into an urban area, and providing better infrastructure, planners sought to unite the northern and southern parts of the city.
