Seatoller Wood, Sourmilk Gill & Seathwaite Graphite Mine

Seathwaite is a small hamlet in the Borrowdale civil parish of Cumberland, Cumbria, North West England. It is in the Lake District near Scafell Pike and 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Keswick at the end of a minor road that heads southwest from the hamlet of Seatoller, which is where the B5289 road begins its steep climb up the pass to Honister Hause on the boundary between Borrowdale civil parish and Buttermere civil parish.The nearby Seathwaite Fell takes its name from the hamlet and lies about 1.1 miles (2 km) to the south-southwest of it. The name derives from a combination of the Old Norse words sef (sedges) and thveit (clearing) and may be taken to mean "clearing in the sedges". The name, then spelled Seuthwayt, first appeared in written records in 1340.

Seatoller is a settlement in Borrowdale in the English Lake District. Historically part of Cumberland, it lies on the B5289 road at the east foot of the Honister Pass, and to the south of Derwent Water. The nearest town to Seatoller is Keswick, which is situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) to the north. Seatoller was the destination of a regular walkers bus in the 1960s and 1970s which left Carlisle each Sunday at 07:30 giving access by public transport into the heart of the lakes. The hamlet consists of a farmhouse, two bed and breakfasts, a tea shop and two rows of cottages.

The Lake District, also known as the Lakes or Lakeland, is a mountainous region and national park in North West England. It is primarily famous for its mountain, lake, and coastal scenery, and for its literary associations with William Wordsworth and other Lake Poets, Beatrix Potter, and John Ruskin. The Lake District is completely within Cumbria, and its mountains (or 'fells') are sometimes called the Cumbrian Mountains. It was historically divided between Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire. The Lake District National Park was established in 1951 and covers an area of 2,362 square kilometres (912 sq mi), the bulk of the region. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.All the land in England higher than 3,000 ft (914 m) above sea level lies within the Lake District, including Scafell Pike, which at 978 m (3,209 ft) is the highest mountain in England. It also contains Windermere, which is the longest (18 km or 11 mi) and largest lake in England, area (14.73 km2 or 5.69 sq mi), and Wast Water, which at 79 metres (259 ft) is the deepest lake.

The Honister Slate Mine in Cumbria is the last working slate mine in England. Quarrying for Westmorland green slate has been taking place in the area since 1728. Apart from the mining it is also a popular tourist attraction in the Lake District National Park.

Taylor Gill Force is one of the highest waterfalls in the Lake District of England. It is situated in Seathwaite, Allerdale, near Seatoller in Cumbria.

Base Brown is a fell in England's Lake District, near the head of the Borrowdale Valley. It forms one side of the Seathwaite Valley, and on the western side it is flanked by the hanging valley of Gillercomb.

Johnny Wood (or Johnny's Wood) is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) within the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. It is located 300m west of the village of Borrowdale, in the valley of the River Derwent (Borrowdale). This woodland has an exceptional diversity of liverwort species. Johnny Wood is referred to in the designation of the Lake District as an Important Plant Area. Johnny Wood is also within Borrowdale Rainforest National Nature Reserve.

High Spy is a fell in the English Lake District it is situated on the ridge that separates the Newlands Valley from Borrowdale, eight kilometres (five miles) south of Keswick.

Grey Knotts is a fell in the English Lake District. It is situated one kilometre (2⁄3 mile) south of the B5289 road as it crosses the Honister Pass. It is well seen from mid-Borrowdale as it rises above Seatoller. Grey Knotts reaches a height of 697 metres (2,287 feet) and is part of a ridge which ascends from the woodland behind Seatoller and continues south-west and then south for four kilometres to Great Gable. The fell's name really only applies to the summit rocks, but has been adopted for the entire fell with the high ground in this area, locally known as Seatoller Fell on Ordnance Survey maps.

Glaramara is a fell in the English Lake District in Cumbria. It is a substantial fell that is part of a long ridge that stretches for over six kilometres (3+3⁄4 miles) from Stonethwaite in Borrowdale up to the important mountain pass of Esk Hause. The summit of Glaramara at 783 metres (2,569 ft) is the central point of this ridge, which separates the valleys of Langstrath and Grains Gill. However, the ridge has two additional fells, numerous subsidiary tops and several small tarns making its traverse an appealing and challenging walk.

Dale Head is a fell in the north-western sector of the Lake District, in northern England. It is 753 metres or 2,470 foot above sea level and stands immediately north of Honister Pass, the road between Borrowdale and Buttermere.

Castle Crag is a hill in the North Western Fells of the English Lake District. It is the smallest hill included in Alfred Wainwright's influential Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells, the only Wainwright below 1,000 feet (300 m). Wainwright accorded Castle Crag the status of a separate fell because it "is so magnificently independent, so ruggedly individual, so aggressively unashamed of its lack of inches, that less than justice would be done by relegating it to a paragraph in the High Spy chapter." Subsequent guidebooks have not always agreed: Castle Crag is one of only two Wainwrights not included in Bill Birkett's Complete Lakeland Fells.
