Small Dean Viaduct

Wendover railway station serves the village of Wendover in Buckinghamshire, England, and villages including Ellesborough and Wendover Dean. The station is on the London Marylebone – Aylesbury line and is served by Chiltern Railways trains. It is between Great Missenden and Stoke Mandeville stations.

The John Colet School is a co-educational secondary school in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, England. In August 2011 the school became an Academy.The school was founded in the 1950s, and is named after churchman and scholar John Colet. In September 2006 the school celebrated its 50th anniversary.It takes children from the age of 11 through to the age of 18. The school has approximately 1,014 pupils, with approximately 140 students in the sixth form. There are around 60 staff at the school. A year group is made up of six forms, Burke, Canning, Disraeli, Gladstone, Hampden and Steele; named after Edmund Burke, George Canning, Benjamin Disraeli, William Ewart Gladstone, John Hampden and Richard Steele respectively. Once in sixth form these forms are incorporated into three form groups Burke, Canning and Disraeli.

The Wendover Dean Viaduct is a planned railway viaduct that will carry the High Speed 2 (HS2) railway line across farmland between Wendover and Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, England. Approval for the viaduct's construction was issued in 2017 via the High Speed Rail (London - West Midlands) Act 2017; its design was publicly revealed two years later. In June 2021, Buckinghamshire Council also approved plans for the viaduct. Design revisions centred around improving its aesthetics and minimising its impact on the countryside. Construction is set to take place between late 2021 and 2024, although high speed trains will not traverse the structure until several years after this point.

Boddington Camp is an Iron Age hillfort, about 1 mile east of Wendover in Buckinghamshire, England. It is a scheduled monument.

Wendover is a town and civil parish at the foot of the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire, England. It is situated at the point where the main road across the Chilterns between London and Aylesbury intersects with the once important road along the foot of the Chilterns. The town is some 35 miles (56 km) north west of London and 5 miles (8 km) south east of Aylesbury. The parish has an area of 5,832 acres (2,360 ha) and had, at the time of the 2011 census, a population of 7,399. Outside Wendover, the parish is mainly arable and also contains several hamlets in the surrounding hills. Wendover has a weekly market, and has had a market charter since 1464.

Dunsmore is a hamlet in the parish of Ellesborough, in Buckinghamshire, England. It occupies a hilltop position in the Chiltern Hills about 2 miles south of Wendover. Access is by two steep, single-track hillside lanes. The place name is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means literally Dunna's moor.Much of the surrounding land is owned by the National Trust and is heavily wooded with beech trees, and bracken. Due to its elevation the village is occasionally cut off by treacherous road conditions during harsh winters. Central features of the hamlet are the village pond, the village hall and the Church of the Resurrection, Dunsmore. In the past the village supported a shop and two public houses, The Fox and The Black Horse, but these have now closed and been converted into residential dwellings. Dunsmore is close by to Chequers, the country retreat for the serving Prime Minister, and the local Second Boer War memorial on Coombe Hill, Buckinghamshire. The memorial stands above Wendover in the Aylesbury Vale. There are many good, rural walks nearby.

The Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Hospital Halton, was the first Royal Air Force hospital to be built that was dedicated to air force personnel. Located on what was then the largest of the RAF camps at RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire, England, the hospital treated over 20,000 patients during the Second World War and was the first place in the world to use penicillin on a large-scale. The hospital continued in use throughout the Cold War, only closing in 1996 due to defence cuts.

Upper Bacombe and Lower Bacombe are two hamlets in the parish of Wendover, in Buckinghamshire, England. They are located to the south east of the main town, on and at the foot of Bacombe Hill, which is a Local Nature Reserve, and part of the Bacombe and Coombe Hills Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Jones' Hill Wood is a 1.8-hectare (4.4-acre) piece of ancient woodland near Wendover in Buckinghamshire, south England. Formed mainly of beech trees, the wood is part of the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Almost half of the wood is planned to be chopped down to make way for the route of High Speed 2 (HS2) and the topsoil will be translocated. In October 2020, a protest camp was evicted.

Bacombe and Coombe Hills is a 76.4-hectare (189-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Upper Bacombe in Buckinghamshire. Bacombe Hill was formerly owned by Buckinghamshire County Council, which transferred it to Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust in 2014. Coombe Hill is owned by the National Trust.The site is in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Bacombe Hill is a Local Nature Reserve. The Ridgeway National Trail crosses the site.The site is chalk grassland which has a rich variety of species. including the entire British population of fringed gentian, and there are areas of juniper and mixed scrub. Invertebrates include scarce species, such as chalkhill blue and brown argus butterflies. Bacombe Hill is noted for orchids.There is access from Ellesbrough Road.

World's End is a hamlet 0.5 miles (0.80 km) north of Wendover, Buckinghamshire. It is part of the civil parish of Wendover which is in Aylesbury Vale district. Today the settlement straddles the B4009. Prior to the construction of the Wendover Bypass World's End was on the A413. The hamlet's name is commonly associated with dwellings or places in remote locations, on the outskirts, or just beyond the limit of a town. Until recently there were two pubs in World's End. The first was called 'The End of the World' which closed in 2006 and in the 19th century was known as 'The Swan Inn'. The second pub was 'The Marquis of Granby' which can be traced back until the 16th century, and has now been renovated and renamed 'The Village Gate'.A large garden centre is located at the north end of the settlement. Along World's End Way, is the old Weston Turville Reservoir. It was constructed to provide water for the Wendover Arm of the Grand Union Canal. It is now a nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.

The Trenchard Museum is based at RAF Halton, Halton, Buckinghamshire, England. The overall aim of the museum is to preserve and display items that relate to the early history of the Royal Air Force, particularly the training of apprentices that took place at RAF Halton. It is named after Lord Trenchard, who is known as the father of the Royal Air Force, founded the aircraft apprentice scheme, and had a strong association with RAF Halton. The museum was opened in 1999.
