Pollinatarium

Japan House is a learning facility founded in 1976 by Shozo Sato. It is part of the College of Fine and Applied Arts, at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. The facility includes three tea rooms, or Chashitsu, a tea garden (Roji) and Japanese rock garden. It currently conducts classes in Japanese tea ceremony, Japanese Aesthetics and Ikebana for university students and members of the community. An annual event at the house welcomes international students. In 2019 an expansion effort was under way.

The University of Illinois Arboretum (160 acres (65 ha)) is a new arboretum, with gardens, currently under construction on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. It is located at the intersection of Florida and Lincoln Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, and open daily without charge. The arboretum has been constructed on the university's south campus farmlands. As of 2017, developed sections are as follows: Welcome Garden – an entrance and meeting place. Japan House – tea garden (2002), dry or Zen garden (2003). The house itself contains three tea rooms, and is otherwise used for classes and meetings; it is not generally open to the public. Hartley Garden (1994) – a 3-acre (12,000 m2) sunken garden with All American Selections trial ground and annual and perennial beddings. Idea Garden – six areas including borders, ornamentals, vegetables, children's, and Special Projects. Sen Cherry Tree Alleé (2008) – cherry trees added to the Japan House. Frank W. Kari walkway (2011) – 1/3 mile and winding around arboretum ponds with educational signs. Hosta Garden – native Illinois prairie plants.

The College of Veterinary Medicine is a graduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.

The three University of Illinois round barns played a special role in the promotion and popularity of the American round barn. They are located in Urbana Township, on the border of the U.S. city of Urbana, Illinois and on the campus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The University of Illinois was home to one of the Agricultural Experiment Stations, located at U.S. universities, which were at the heart of the promotion of the round barn. At least one round barn in Illinois was built specifically after its owner viewed the barns at the university. Though originally an experiment the three barns helped to lead the way for round barn construction throughout the Midwest, particularly in Illinois. The barns were listed as contributing properties to the U of I Experimental Dairy Farm Historic District, which was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The University of Illinois Experimental Dairy Farm Historic District, also known as South Farm, is a designated historic district in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is located on the campus of the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois. The district consists of eight contributing structures and several non-contributing structures. The district was designated in 1994 when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Multiple Property Submission concerning Round Barns in Illinois. Three of the district's buildings are early 20th century round barns constructed between 1908 and 1912. The district covers a total area of 6 acres (2 ha).

The Alpha Xi Delta Sorority Chapter House is a historic sorority house located at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in Urbana, Illinois. Built in 1915 as a private home, the house was purchased by the Kappa Chapter of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority in 1928. The chapter was formed in 1905 and rented houses until purchasing the house, which was near a developing sorority row east of the university campus. Architech Joseph W. Royer designed the house in the Tudor Revival style. The house's design features vertical half-timbering on the upper stories, decorative brickwork on the first floor, two steep cross gables and multiple dormers projecting from the roof, and multiple brick chimneys.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 28, 1989.

The Phi Mu Sorority House is a historic sorority house at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in Urbana, Illinois. The sorority house was built in 1928 for the university's Delta Beta chapter of the Phi Mu sorority, which formed in 1921; the sorority itself was founded in 1852 and is one of the oldest sororities in the United States. At the time, the university had one of the largest Greek letter society movements in the country. The sorority's house has a Spanish Eclectic design with an arcaded porch and large patio, a campanile on one corner, and a colored tile roof. Phi Mu used the house until moving to a new building after World War II; the building has since been used by other Greek and student life groups.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 21, 1990.

The Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority House is a historic sorority house located at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in Urbana, Illinois. The house was built in 1928 for the university's Beta Lambda chapter of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, which was established in 1921. The chapter was historically known for its members' academic achievements and their roles in campus social groups. Ralph E. Milman, an associate of prominent Chicago architect Howard Van Doren Shaw and husband to a member of the sorority, designed the English Revival building. Key features of the design include a steep gable roof with projecting dormers, a rough ashlar limestone exterior, a projecting bay window with leaded glass windows, and a recessed arched entryway.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 25, 2004.

The Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity House is a historic fraternity house located at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in Urbana, Illinois. The house was built in 1927-28 for the Sigma chapter of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, which was established in 1917 and chartered the following year. By the 1930s, the chapter was known for its academic success, and six of its members had been invited to Phi Beta Kappa; its members were also active in campus groups and university athletics. Architect George Ramey designed the sorority's house in the French Eclectic style, which became popular in the United States after World War I. Significant elements of the design include its gray brick exterior, its steep slate hipped roof, its central staircase tower with a conical roof, and its stone quoins.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 5, 2009.

The University of Illinois Conservatory and Plant Collection is a 2,000-square-foot (190 m2) conservatory and botanical garden located in the Plant Sciences Laboratory Greenhouses, on the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign campus, 1201 South Dorner Drive, Urbana, Illinois. The conservatory is generally open to the public daily when the university is in session, though it may be closed for classes, research, or special events. The conservatory houses over 200 species and 60 families of tropical and subtropical plants selected for their botanical interest or economic importance. Separate greenhouses contain ferns, bromeliads, cycads, orchids, carnivorous plants, herb and spice plants, and cacti, euphorbia, and other succulents. There is also an outdoor butterfly garden. Plants of special interest include Brighamia insignis, Lebronnecia kokioides, and Sauromatum venosum.

Lincoln the Lawyer, also known as The Young Circuit Lawyer, Young Lincoln or simply Abraham Lincoln, is a Lorado Taft sculpture now located on the 1000 block of Race Street, Urbana, Illinois, across from Urbana High School in Carle Park. The statue was dedicated by Taft on July 3, 1927. It was moved to the eastern entrance of Carle Park on December 4, 1927, when it was first placed on a pedestal facing due east. Taft requested a slightly different placement, facing southeast, and the statue was moved about 20 feet north to the present site in December 1955. It was restored in 2003, and added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 10, 2004.Lincoln had ridden as a circuit lawyer on the 8th Judicial Circuit through Urbana from 1837 to 1848. The statue was paid for by a bequest of Mrs. J.O. Cunningham who, with her husband, had been friends of Lincoln since his time as a circuit lawyer. The bequest of $10,000 was funded by the sale of her house on nearby Green Street. This amount was less than half of Taft's usual commission for work in bronze, but he may have accepted the commission because of his close ties to the community. He had been raised in nearby Champaign.

Urbana High School is the only public high school in Urbana, Illinois and was established in 1872.
