C. Douglas Cairns Recreation Arena, more commonly known as Cairns Arena, is a 600-seat hockey arena in South Burlington, Vermont. It is home to the Saint Michael's College Purple Knights men's and women's ice hockey teams, the University of Vermont club ice hockey team, and a number of high school hockey teams. It was the former home to the Green Mountain Glades Junior A ice hockey team of the Eastern Junior Hockey League, who have since moved operations to Portland, Maine. The Arena comprises two NHL-sized ice rinks, each with a seating capacity of 600, a café, and a pro shop. It also served as a venue for the 2012 IIHF Women's World Championship, along with Gutterson Fieldhouse.

The Chittenden-3-10 District includes a section of the Chittenden County city of South Burlington defined as follows: "That portion of the City of South Burlington not contained in Chittenden-3-7, 3-8, or 3-9." As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Chittenden-3-10 District had a population of 3,727 in that same census, 8.18% below the state average.

The one member Chittenden-3-8 District had a population of 3,717 in that same census, 8.43% below the state average. It has the fewest residents per representative of any district in Vermont.

The University Mall, often referred to as the U-Mall, is an enclosed shopping mall in South Burlington, Vermont. The name refers to its proximity to the University of Vermont. At 610,693 square feet (56,735 m2), it is the largest shopping mall in Vermont and is one of two enclosed malls in the Burlington metropolitan area. JCPenney, Kohl's, and Target are the anchor stores. It also features an H&M. The mall encompasses 77 shops, including two sit-down restaurants, and a food court. KeyPoint Partners, LLC of Burlington, Massachusetts is the mall's management company.

Al's French Frys is a restaurant in South Burlington, Vermont, United States. The restaurant was established in 1946 by Al and Genevieve Rusterholz. In 2010 the restaurant was named a "America's Classic" by the James Beard Foundation.

Rice Memorial High School is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary and college preparatory school in South Burlington, Vermont. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington. The student body is mostly drawn from Northern and Central Vermont but includes other students including international students. The school and buildings were named for Bishop Joseph Rice who had established Cathedral High School in 1917.

Virtue Field is an on-campus stadium at the University of Vermont. It is home to the Vermont men's and women's lacrosse teams, as well as the men's and women's soccer teams. It will also be the home field for USL League Two expansion side Vermont Green FC, beginning in 2022.The field is made of artificial turf.
