U.S. Geological Survey National Center

The United States Geological Survey, abbreviated USGS and formerly simply known as the Geological Survey, is a scientific agency of the United States government. The scientists of the USGS study the landscape of the United States, its natural resources, and the natural hazards that threaten it. The organization's work spans the disciplines of biology, geography, geology, and hydrology. The USGS is a fact-finding research organization with no regulatory responsibility. The USGS is a bureau of the United States Department of the Interior; it is that department's sole scientific agency. The USGS employs approximately 8,670 people and is headquartered in Reston, Virginia. The USGS also has major offices near Lakewood, Colorado, at the Denver Federal Center, and Menlo Park, California. The current motto of the USGS, in use since August 1997, is "science for a changing world". The agency's previous slogan, adopted on the occasion of its hundredth anniversary, was "Earth Science in the Public Service".

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) of the United States was created under the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 (MCTRJCA) as an independent authority within the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The purpose of FirstNet is to establish, operate, and maintain an interoperable public safety broadband network. To fulfill these objectives, Congress allotted $7 billion and 20 MHz of radio spectrum to build the network.

Since 2003, it has provided services to the Central Intelligence Agency. In 2013, its subsidiary, International Development Solutions, received an approximately $92 million contract for State Department security guards.In 2014, Academi merged with Triple Canopy, a subsidiary of Constellis Group.

Stave Run is a stream in Fairfax County, Virginia, in the United States. It was formerly called Whiskey Barrel Run. Stave Run was so named on account of staves for barrels being made nearby.

Reston Town Center (preliminary name Reston Parkway) is a rapid transit station under construction on the Silver Line of the Washington Metro in Reston, an unincorporated area in Northern Virginia. It is now expected to open in July 2022. The station is located in the central section of Reston, specifically within the median of SR 267 (Dulles Toll Road) west of its interchange with SR 602 (Reston Parkway). Reston Town Center is approximately 2,000 ft (610 m) to the north of the station.

The Open Source Enterprise (OSE) is a United States Government organization dedicated to open-source intelligence. Initially part of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, it is now part of the Directorate of Digital Innovation at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Former iterations of the organization were the Open Source Center (OSC) and the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS).

ArtInsights Animation and Film Art Gallery is a gallery specializing in animation and film art. It is located in the Reston Town Center in Reston, Virginia. The gallery represents original production artwork (such as animation cels) and limited edition pieces, as well as film and illustrative art (e.g. giclées ). All pieces displayed in the gallery are for sale and exhibits regarding specific themes are arranged regularly.The gallery has been host to many film and animation related exhibitions and continues to exclusively host official production and concept artwork from specific artists in the industry. In addition to in-gallery activities, Artinsights has consistently contributed to efforts and projects related to the conservation and promotion of film artwork.

The A. Smith Bowman Distillery is a distillery that was originally based on the Bowman family's 7,200-acre Sunset Hills Farm in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States, in what later became the planned community of Reston. The distillery was founded in 1934 on the day after the end of Prohibition, by Abram Smith Bowman and his sons, Abram Smith, Jr., and DeLong. From the time of its founding until the 1950s, it was the only legal whiskey distillery in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The primary brands produced by the distillery were the Virginia Gentleman and Fairfax County bourbon whiskeys. In February 1988, it relocated to Spotsylvania County, near Fredericksburg, into a former FMC Corp. cellophane plant at One Bowman Drive, where operation continues as a microdistillery owned by the Sazerac Company.

Herndon (preliminary names Herndon–Monroe, Herndon–Reston West) is a planned Washington Metro station in Fairfax County, Virginia on the Silver Line. The station would be in the median strip of VA-267 adjacent to the current Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride parking garage and bus station, which is on the south side of the highway. This location is in Reston, but has a Herndon postal address. In anticipation of a future mass transit route in the Dulles Access Road median, in 1999 Fairfax County constructed a $20 million park and ride facility which includes a Fairfax Connector station that serves most bus lines in the Herndon and Reston areas as well as buses carrying commuters to the West Falls Church or other Metro stations daily. The existing facility is served by direct westbound on-ramps and eastbound off-ramps to SR 267. The existing parking garage has 1,750 spaces. The garage has drawn criticism because of alleged construction flaws. The garage will be expanded to 3,500 spaces for the Metro station. Originally planned for revenue operations in 2018, the station is now expected to open in July 2022. In the meantime, the Town of Herndon has initiated transportation oriented development of the land on the north side of the station. In turn, the Town of Herndon, on November 10, 2009, designated commercial, industrial and multi-unit rental residential properties within the town boundaries for inclusion in a special tax district to fund construction of Phase II of the Silver Line.

Young America's Foundation (YAF) is a conservative youth organization founded in 1969. In 2018, the Los Angeles Times called YAF "one of the most preeminent, influential and controversial forces in the nation's conservative youth movement." Scott Walker, former governor of Wisconsin and 2016 Republican presidential candidate, became President of YAF on February 1, 2021. Notable alumni members include Jeff Sessions and Stephen Miller.
