RAF St Pancras was a temporary, but official, Royal Air Force station established in the Somers Town Goods Yard beside St Pancras railway station in London. The base was opened and closed in May 1969 in order to serve the winning entry of Flt Lt Tom Lecky-Thompson and Harrier XV741 in the Daily Mail Trans-Atlantic Air Race.

The King's Cross railway accident occurred on 4 February 1945, at London King's Cross railway station on the East Coast Main Line of the London & North Eastern Railway. Two passengers were killed and 25 injured, as well as the train attendant.

Word on the Water is a bookshop situated on a barge that normally resides on Regent's Canal in the King's Cross area at Granary Square, London, although it has historically been based at other points along the London canal network. It has appeared in numerous publication's lists of the best bookshops in the UK including The Washington Post and The Guardian. The bookshop's home is a Dutch canal boat called Dianti dating back to the 1920s. As well as working as a bookshop, it regularly acts as a venue, hosting live music and poetry events.

The Gasworks Tunnel is a set of three parallel railway tunnels carrying the East Coast Main Line from London King's Cross terminus under Regent's Canal. Each 1,585 ft (483 m) bore has two tracks.The first of the multiple tunnels was built as part of the construction of the Great Northern Railway opening in 1852. The original tunnel is now the middle of three parallel bores. A second tunnel to the west was built in 1878 and a third one to the east in 1892. The eastern tunnel was taken out of use in 1977 during a significant remodelling of the approach to King's Cross station which included a completely new layout between the tunnels and the platforms, the introduction of bi-directional working in the tunnels, works to improve headroom at the southern end of the tunnels and changing the usage of lines between the remaining bores to concentrate suburban services in the western tunnel and long-distance services in the central.In 2018, Network Rail announced it proposed to reinstate the eastern tunnel during another major remodelling of the approaches to King's Cross. It opened to traffic on 26 April 2021.

House of Illustration is a public arts organisation dedicated to illustration, founded by Sir Quentin Blake and based in London, England. From 2014 to 2020, it was located at 2 Granary Square in the London Borough of Camden, but the site is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.In August 2020 it was announced that the House of Illustration will relocate to the 18th century Engine House at New River Head in the Clerkenwell area of London, with the intention of opening in the autumn of 2022. The new site will be named the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, and will be home to exhibition galleries, education studios, events spaces and a shop and cafe. It was also announced that the Granary Square site will not reopen, although work will continue offsite through a series of education and events programmes and touring exhibitions.Previous exhibitions displayed the art of illustration in many forms, including advertisements, animation, comic books and manga, children's literature and picture books, political cartoons, scientific illustrations and fashion design. Artists featured in exhibitions include established and upcoming artists, including Quentin Blake, E.H. Shepard, Lauren Child, Paula Rego, Hattie Stewart and David Lemm. One exhibition featured over 120 original illustrations that appeared in Ladybird Books titles, in celebration of the publisher's 100th anniversary.The gallery's former building was designed by Lewis Cubitt in 1850 and was part of the King's Cross Goods Yard. The building is part of the King's Cross Central project, and has been restored, standing alongside Central Saint Martins in the neighbouring Granary Building.

Queer Britain is a museum of British LGBTQ history and culture located in Kings Cross, London. It is the first dedicated LGBTQ museum in the UK. The museum occupies the ground floor of 2 Granary Square, a building owned by the Art Fund. Admission is free.

Central Saint Martins is a public tertiary art school in London, England. It is a constituent college of the University of the Arts London. It offers full-time courses at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and a variety of short and summer courses. It was formerly known as Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, and before that as Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

Granary Square is a large open space in the London Borough of Camden. Comparable in size to Trafalgar Square, it is part of the larger King's Cross Central development. It has been cited as an example of a privately owned public space in London. The new Central Saint Martins complex is adjacent. Visitor attractions in the square include Queer Britain, the UK's first dedicated museum of LGBT history and culture. The square incorporates a fountain consisting of 1,080 individual jets rising from the flush paved surface of the plaza. Each jet has its own independently controlled pump and multi-color illumination. As of March 2015, visitors to the square can interact with the fountains to play a mobile version of the Snake game. Other squares in the development will include Station Square, Pancras Square, Cubitt Square, and North Square.

The Open Data Institute (ODI) is a non-profit private company limited by guarantee, based in the United Kingdom. The London A Cappella Festival is an annual series of concerts based at Kings Place, London, showcasing a cappella acts from around the world, curated by the vocal group The Swingle Singers and Ikon Arts Management. The aim of the festival is to celebrate the human voice in all the wide-ranging musical forms; including choral singing, beatbox, barbershop, gospel music, close-harmony, pop, and jazz.

Kings Place is a building in London’s Kings Cross area, providing music and visual arts venues combined with seven floors of office space. It has housed the editorial offices of The Guardian newspaper since December 2008 and is the former headquarters of Network Rail and CGI.

King's Cross Central (KXC) is a multi-billion pound mixed-use development in the north-east of central London. The site is owned and controlled by the King's Cross Central Limited Partnership. It consists of approximately 67 acres (27 ha) of former railway lands to the north of King's Cross and St Pancras mainline railway stations. The site is largely determined by three boundaries: the existing East Coast Main Line railway leading out of King's Cross; York Way, a road marking the division between Camden and Islington boroughs; and the new railway line, High Speed 1 (HS1), formerly known as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, which curves around the site to the north and west. The master planners for the development are Allies and Morrison, Demetri Porphyrios, and Townshend Landscape Architects. The overall developer is Argent LLP. Construction work is ongoing.
