The Granville Female College was an American women's college located in Granville, Ohio. It was established as the Granville Academy in 1827, changed its name in 1867, and closed in 1898.

The St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Granville, Ohio is a historic church located at 111 E. Broadway Street in Granville. The Greek Revival church building was constructed in 1837. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.Its 1976 National Register nomination asserts flatly: "St. Luke's Episcopal Church is one of the finest examples of Greek revival architecture in the United States today," and notes that the building is in excellent condition, in its original form from 1837.Its exterior was designed for Alfred Avery by England-born Benjamin Morgan (1808-1851), who also designed a Greek Revival home, the Avery-Hunter House, in Granville for the same client. "St. Luke's is his main claim to fame and he requested to be buried from this church. He also submitted plans for the State Capitol in Columbus and was a consultant in its building. The ceiling and all lathing and plastering was done by Orren Bryant of Alexandria, Ohio. He was a farmer and also very skilled plasterer. He worked during the winter of 1838 on the moldings and cornices of deep relief and rich design."Its interior was designed by renowned New York-based architect Minard Lafever, who provided specific designs for this church, and also was widely influential through his publication of pattern books. The bell tower design was an adaptation by Benjamin Morgan of works by Asher Benjamin in the Connecticut River Valley, derived from designs in Asher Benjamin's books for workmen and builders.It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1934.

Granville is a village in Licking County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,946 at the 2020 census. The village is located in a rural area of rolling hills, known locally as the Welsh Hills, in central Ohio. It is 35 miles (56 km) east of Columbus, the state capital, and 7 miles (11 km) west of Newark, the county seat. Granville is home to Denison University as well as the birthplace of the song "Tweezer" by Phish. The village has a number of historic buildings, including Greek Revival structures like the Avery Downer House, St. Luke's Episcopal Church (1837) and others. The Buxton Inn (1812), the Granville Inn (1924), Bancroft House (1834) and Bryn Du Mansion are local landmarks.

Denison University is a private liberal arts college in Granville, Ohio. One of the earliest colleges established in the former Northwest Territory, Denison University was founded in 1831. It was first called the Granville Literary and Theological Institution, later took the name Granville College, and, in the mid-1850s, was renamed Denison University, in honor of a key benefactor. The college enrolled 2,300 students in Fall 2023 and students choose from 65 academic programs. The college's intercollegiate athletic teams compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference, fielding 26 varsity teams in the NCAA Division III. Denison is a member of the Five Colleges of Ohio and the Great Lakes Colleges Association.

The Homestead at Denison University (Granville, Ohio) is a student-run intentional community with a focus on environmental sustainability and voluntary simplicity. Founded in 1977 under the guiding vision of biology professor Dr. Robert W. Alrutz, it is an evolving experiment in learning through living. Membership is limited to twelve full-time students of Denison University per semester. These students (referred to as “Homesteaders” or “Homies”) represent a variety of ages, backgrounds, and academic majors.

The Alligator Effigy Mound is an effigy mound in Granville, Ohio, United States. The mound is believed to have been built between AD 800 and 1200 by people of the Fort Ancient culture. The mound was likely a ceremonial site, as it was not used for burials. Located on privately owned land, Alligator Mound is one of two extant effigy mounds known in the present-day state of Ohio, along with Serpent Mound in Adams County, Ohio. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1971. Effigy mounds were built more often by ancient indigenous peoples located in the areas of the present-day states of Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin than in the Ohio area, and many have survived there.

Granville High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Granville, Ohio. It is accredited by the State of Ohio Department of Education. GHS is a member of the Licking County League.

Granville Christian Academy is a private Christian school at 1820 Newark Granville Rd, Granville, Ohio. The school uses Spring Hills Baptist Church as its campus. GCA educates students from kindergarten through 12th grade. It is a college prep private school. The school colors are purple and white, its mascot is the "bush".

Bryn Du Mansion is a historic house in Granville, a village in Licking County, Ohio, United States. The estate is owned by the village and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The mansion consists of 52 rooms and has 12 fireplaces. It occupies a site about one-quarter mile north of Newark-Granville Road, and one mile directly east of the village of Granville.

Granville South is a census-designated place (CDP) in Licking County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,420 at the 2020 census.
