Bharathnagar is a well planned residential layout in the city of Bangalore, India. Located off the arterial Magadi Road and approximately 13 km (8.1 mi) from the Bangalore Central Railway station, this layout was primarily created for the employees of the public sector giant Bharat Electronics Limited. Bharathnagar is divided into Phase 1 & 2. Phase 2 is the larger of the two and has the capacity to accommodate 4000 independent homes, whereas Phase 1 can accommodate 2,000 homes. The philosophers and musical bards patronised by these empires launched socio-religious and literary movements which have endured to the present day. Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (Dr. AIT) is an autonomous engineering college on Outer Ring Road, Nagarbhavi, Bangalore, India. Founded by M.H.Jayprakash Narayan in 1979, and named after B. R. Ambedkar, the institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and is accredited by AICTE. It offers graduate and postgraduate courses. The institute has been granted academic autonomy, which means it can frame its own syllabus and conduct its own examinations. G. Rajendra is the principal of the college. The institute is one among the 14 colleges selected for receiving the World Bank assistance under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) through the government of India. The institute is the recipient of several grants sanctioned by AICTE, DST and VTU. It is granted autonomous status by UGC WEF 2010-11. Dr. AIT started with three branches during 1980 with an intake of 120 and has now grown several-fold. The institute has over 4000 students. It offers under graduate, post graduate and doctoral degrees.

Nagarabhavi is a residential area of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Located in West Bangalore, Nagarabhavi is located between Mysore Road and Magadi road. It is surrounded by Vijaynagar on the north, Bangalore University and Chandra Layout on the east, Magadi road on the north and Sir.M.V.Layout on the west, and Kengeri to the south. Nagarabhavi is broadly divided into two areas, called Nagarabhavi 1st stage and Nagarabhavi 2nd stage. Traditionally known as the home of Bangalore University, this area also houses the National Law School of India University. This area also houses Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology. And KLE Institute in Nagarabhavi 2nd stage. Nagarabhavi 1st stage comprises the localities of Maruthinagara, Kalyana Nagara, Nagarabhavi Village, Canara bank Colony, Bhairaveshwara Nagar and Moodala Palya amongst others. These areas are heavily populated and have much commercial activity along the Nagarabhavi main road. These areas have smaller roads and a rough terrain. Nagarabhavi 2nd stage is in complete contrast to the 1st stage. While the 1st stage is very old, the 2nd stage is a relatively new area. The latter is very well planned and most of the areas have wide roads and the road connectivity is laudable. Most of the roads here are now tarred, ending the age old woes of the people residing here. The BDA has divided Nagarabhavi 2nd stage into blocks 1–12. In addition, well planned residential localities like Annapoorneshwari Nagara, Vinayaka Layout, ITI Layout, MPM Layout, NGEF Layout and Papareddy Palya form a part of this area. Nagarabhavi has famous restaurants like Mane Ruchi, Swathi Restaurant and Nandana Palace. It also has access to good reading libraries like JustBooks and Central and Namma hotels. Many celebrities live in and around Nagarbhavi.
