R J Balson & Son is a high-street butcher in the market town of Bridport, Dorset. According to the Institute for Family Business, it is the oldest continually trading family business in the United Kingdom. It has been in the Balson family since 1515 when Robert Balson rented a market stall on Bridport Shambles.Since 1892 its butcher's shop has been located at 9 West Allington, Bridport, not far from its original location.It was featured in the BBC Four television programme Hidden Histories: Britain’s Oldest Family Businesses, broadcast on 15 January 2014.

Part of the Bridport Team Ministry, it is the civic church of the town and principal church of the Parish of Bridport. There is a strong connection with the Bridport United Church (Methodist/United Reformed Church) and the two hold joint services, study groups and children's holiday clubs. The parish is linked with Roumois in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Évreux, Normandy, France. The church has a maximum capacity of 400 and hosts many events. It has a peal of eight bells.

Bridport Arts Centre is an arts centre in Bridport, Dorset, England. Founded in 1973, it is housed in and around a 19th-century, Grade II listed building, formerly known as the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel. The complex includes the Marlow Theatre, the Allsop Gallery and a cinema. The centre runs the Bridport Prize, an international literary competition. Annual awards are made in four categories: short stories, poetry, flash fiction and first novel. The winners are announced during the Bridport Open Book Festival. The centre also runs the From Page to Screen Festival, an annual film festival celebrating literary adaptations.

Allington is a village and civil parish in Dorset, England, 1 mile (1.6 km) north-west from the town of Bridport, with which it is physically contiguous; much of Allington lies within Bridport parish. In the 2011 census Allington civil parish had 371 dwellings, 339 households and a population of 766.Allington Hill rises to 89 metres (292 ft) above the village; it is managed by the Woodland Trust. The hill is characteristic of the Upper Greensand hills and ridges found in the Marshwood and Powerstock Vales National Character Area. In 1086 in the Domesday Book Allington was recorded as Adelingtone; it had 21 households, 3 ploughlands, 10 acres (4.0 ha) of meadow and one mill. It was in Goderthorn Hundred and the lord and tenant-in-chief was Turstin son of Rolf. The parish church at North Allington, dedicated to St Swithun, was designed by Charles Wallis of Dorchester and built in 1826–27, and is a Grade II* listed building. It is in classical style, and is unusual for the survival of a high proportion of the original internal fittings, including the pews, gallery, a pulpit (of two originally present) and glazing.

Bridport Priory was a priory in Dorset, England. An inventory of goods belonging to the Priory of St John the Baptist at Bridport was made on 9 October 1452, including the mass books, vestments and altar goods, the furniture of the hall and pantry, and the kitchen equipment.

Coneygar (sometimes as Conygar, its original spelling) is a suburb of Bridport in Dorset, England. It is also common to find its use throughout the Cotswolds and other rural areas. The name Conygar comes from two medieval words coney meaning rabbit and garth meaning garden, indicating that the area was once a warren where rabbits were bred for food.

Bridport East Street was a railway station on the Bridport Railway in the west of the English county of Dorset. Opened on 11 March 1884, before the extension terminus at West Bay, it was just south of the level crossing on the A35 Dorchester to Honiton road, slightly nearer the centre of Bridport than the main station at Bradpole Road. Closed during the First World War and again in 1921, the station closed permanently with the West Bay extension on 22 September 1930, when the Great Western Railway gave up on hopes of creating a resort at West Bay.

Holy Trinity Church is a Church of England parish church at Bothenhampton, near Bridport in Dorset, England. It was designed and built by the English arts and crafts architect Edward Schroeder Prior in 1887–89. It is a Grade II* listed building.
