Caledonia Road Church, formerly Caledonia Road United Presbyterian Church and Hutchesontown and Caledonia Road Church, is a ruined church in Glasgow, Scotland. In 1966 the building was added to the Scottish Heritage List as Category A.

Southside railway station, Glasgow, Scotland, was an early passenger terminal situated in the Gorbals area of the city. The station opened on 29 September 1848, for trains operated by the Glasgow, Barrhead and Neilston Direct Railway, which a short time later was absorbed by the Caledonian Railway. From 1849, until the opening of Glasgow Central station in 1879, the station was used as a terminal for the Caledonian Railway's Lanarkshire services on its route to Carlisle which is now part of the West Coast Main Line. From September 1877 Southside station was replaced by Gorbals station for trains on the Barrhead branch line to the new St Enoch station, which had opened nearly a year earlier. A viaduct was constructed to carry the extended Barrhead line towards a new bridge at Cathcart Road, north-east of Southside station.

The Glasgow, Paisley and Ardrossan Canal, later known as the Glasgow, Paisley and Johnstone Canal, was a canal in the west of Scotland, running between Glasgow, Paisley and Johnstone which later became a railway. Despite the name, the canal was never completed down to Ardrossan, the termini being Port Eglinton in Glasgow and Thorn Brae in Johnstone. Within months of opening, the canal was the scene of a major disaster.

Gorbals railway station was a railway station serving the Gorbals area of Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. The station was originally part of the Glasgow, Barrhead and Kilmarnock Joint Railway.

The Gorbals is an area in the city of Glasgow, Scotland, on the south bank of the River Clyde. By the late 19th century, it had become densely populated; rural migrants and immigrants were attracted by the new industries and employment opportunities of Glasgow. At its peak, during the 1930s, the wider Gorbals district (which includes the directly adjoined localities of Laurieston and Hutchesontown) had swollen in population to an estimated 90,000 residents. Along with its relatively small size, this gave the area a very high population density of around 40,000/km². Redevelopment after WWII has taken many turns, and the area's population is substantially smaller today. The Gorbals was also home to 16 high rise flat blocks, now only 6 of them are standing in 2023 and 2 of them are set to come down in the next couple of years.

Main Street railway station, Gorbals, Glasgow, Scotland, was built by the City of Glasgow Union Railway while the new line from Shields Junction to St Enoch station was being developed in the 1870s. It was situated adjacent to Gorbals station, which served trains on the Barrhead branch line to St Enoch, close to where the two lines merged at Gorbals Junction. Remnants of both stations can still be seen in Gorbals Street and Hospital Street. Main Street station was in use from 1872 until 1900, when a new station in Cumberland Street replaced it, following the doubling of the track from Port Eglinton to St Enoch station.

Cumberland Street railway station, Glasgow, Scotland, was developed by the Glasgow and South Western Railway in 1900, as a replacement for Main Street station, Gorbals, following the doubling of the track from Port Eglinton to St Enoch station. It was in operation until 1966, when passenger services to St Enoch station ended. It has been proposed to reopen the station as part of the Glasgow Crossrail project. In late October 2012 the Cumberland street building was sealed in with concrete blocks. The station was originally called Eglinton Street, but its name was changed to Cumberland Street in the 1920s to avoid confusion with the Caledonian Railway's Eglinton Street station, which served trains operating from Glasgow Central.

The Southern Necropolis is a cemetery in the Gorbals district of southern Glasgow, Scotland. It was opened in the year 1840 to provide an affordable and respectable place of burial for the people of Gorbals and the surrounding areas of the city of Glasgow. Over 250,000 individuals have been buried within the many lairs.

Govanhill Picture House based in Govanhill, Glasgow, was an Egyptian-themed cinema built in 1926 which was designed by architect Eric A. Sutherland and seated 1,200. It remained in use as a cinema until 1961 and then as a bingo hall till 1974. It was the warehouse and head office of John Greenlees Ltd shoe shops from the early 60s until late 1980s. Subsequently, the building was used as a warehouse.The building was re-roofed in 2012 due to its poor state of repair and general neglect.In 2018, plans were unveiled that the B-listed cinema was to be used again for its original purpose by Queer Classics Film Festival (QCFF). The event that took take place in August 2018 had the backing of Glasgow School of Art and University of Glasgow, the latter being where event organiser Lydia Honeybone is studying a postgraduate degree in Curatorial Practice. “I have long been fascinated by Govanhill Picture House, it’s been a dream of mine for years now to hold an event there and partially the reason I moved to the Southside"In September 2019, the building was used again as a cinema with the screening of the 1920s film, The Open Road. The event was co-organised by Lydia Honeybone and Shireen Taylor as Glasgow Artists’ Moving Image Studios (GAMIS).

TAG Theatre Company is a theatre company established in 1967 in Glasgow, Scotland as the outreach arm of the Citizens' Theatre in Glasgow, and was known as the Citizens' Theatre for Youth.

The Citizens Theatre, in what was the Royal Princess's Theatre, is the creation of James Bridie and is based in Glasgow, Scotland as a principal producing theatre. The theatre includes a 500-seat Main Auditorium, and has also included various studio theatres over time. The Citizens' Theatre repertory was founded in 1943 by dramatist and screenwriter James Bridie, author of some 40 plays presented in Britain and overseas, art gallery director Tom Honeyman, cinema impresario George Singleton, known by many as "Mr Cosmo", whose headquarter cinema continues today as the Glasgow Film Theatre, and Paul Vincent Carroll, whose plays were first performed at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin (founder W.B.Yeats) and later on Broadway, winning the New York Drama Critics' Circle award for Shadow and Substance (1938) and The White Steed (1939). Under the leadership of James Bridie (Dr O.H. Mavor), the Citizens Company was based at first in the Glasgow Athenaeum. It moved in 1945 to its present site, the then Royal Princess's Theatre (opened 1878), where the building became the Citizens Theatre.
