Älvsjö railway station

Älvsjö (Swedish pronunciation: [ɛlvɧø] ) is a borough (stadsdelsområde) in the southern part of Stockholm Sweden. The borough is divided into the districts Herrängen, Långsjö, Långbro, Älvsjö, Solberga, Örby Slott and Liseberg. It has about 21,000 inhabitants.

Scandic Talk Hotel (previously the Rica Talk Hotel) is a skyscraper and hotel, located at the Stockholm International Fairs in Älvsjö, Stockholm Municipality, Sweden. It is 72 m tall and includes 19 floors and 248 rooms. Scandic acquired the hotel in 2014 when it purchased Rica HotelsThe building was constructed by Rosenbergs Arkitekter and it opened on 23 May 2006.

Älvsjö (Swedish pronunciation: [ɛlvɧø] ) is a district of the city of Stockholm Municipality in Sweden, located in the borough Älvsjö in Söderort. It has the biggest rentable facility in northern Europe called Stockholm International Fairs, and also the hotel Scandic Talk Hotel, which both are located east of Älvsjö commuter train station. In 2017, the total population of the district was 1,530 inhabitants.The name was written Elffuesio in 1461. The origin of the first element is unclear – it is possibly derived from an Old Swedish male name *Ælve, but that interpretation is uncertain. The last element sjö 'lake' refers to Brännkyrkasjön, a former lake east of Älvsjö.

Brännkyrka is a parish in South Stockholm, Sweden. The population as of 2004 is 36,572. Brännkyrka, at that time much larger in area, was amalgamated into the city of Stockholm in 1913. This area now constitutes the southern main part of Stockholm Municipality called Söderort. The original parish has since then been divided into many new parishes and the present Brännkyrka parish is situated around Brännkyrka church in the centre of the area. Brannkyrka was the site of a Swedish victory over Danish forces in 1518. Parts of the church were built in the 12th century. There are notes that there has been four serious fires in the church. It is assumed that the name Brännkyrka ("burnt church") was given after a fire around 1400, since it was named "Vantör" before that time. The Brännkyrka basketball team is very popular amongst locals, and their match at the Brännkyrka gymnasium are always a fun a happy gathering of the community.

Hagsätra is a quarter in Söderort, the southern part of Stockholm Municipality, Sweden. It borders with the quarters of Älvsjö, Örby and Rågsved in Stockholm, as well as Stuvsta in neighboring Huddinge Municipality. Hagsätra covers an area of 420 acres (1.7 km² or 0.66 mi2) and has a population of around 7,800. This area previously belonged to Älvsjö gård manor but was incorporated into Stockholm in 1930. But it wasn't until 1957 Hagsätra started expanding with modern houses and architecture. Hagsätra has a marketplace known as Hagsätra torg. The Hagsätra metro station is the southern terminus on Line 19 of Stockholm's Metro system.

Hagsätra metro station is on the Green line of the Stockholm metro, located in Hagsätra, Söderort. It is the end station for line 19. The station was inaugurated on 1 December 1960 when one-station extension from Rågsved was completed. The distance to Slussen is 10 km (6.2 mi). A southerly extension of the Blue line of the Stockholm metro is currently under construction and expected to be opened for the passengers in 2030. As part of this development, the Blue line will take over this station.

Örby slott is a residential area in the suburb of Söderort in Stockholm Municipality, Sweden. It has an area of 67 hectares (170 acres) and had 1,888 inhabitants in 2017.Örby took its name from Örby Manor (Örby slott) which is situated in the area and which also has given name to the neighbouring residential area of Örby. The modern area was created in 1956. Örby manor was built by nobleman and official Henrik Falkenberg (1634-1691) Falkenberg was governor of Älvsborg county, The former manor is now used by the Embassy of Vietnam.

Örby is a residential area in Söderort, Stockholm Municipality, Sweden. It has an area of 159 hectares and 4,720 inhabitants.

The Västberga helicopter robbery occurred on 23 September 2009 at 05:15 CET when a G4S cash service depot was robbed in Västberga in southern Stockholm, Sweden. The robbers used a stolen Bell 206 Jet Ranger as transport and landed on the rooftop of the G4S building.The police were unable to use their own helicopters to pursue the robbers since decoy bombs had been placed close to them. A 7-million-Swedish-krona reward was announced the following day for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the robbers and/or the return of the stolen goods. This was the first robbery involving a helicopter in Swedish history.

Midsommarkransen (The Midsummer Wreath) is a suburban district of Stockholm with a history from 1775. The underground metro station opened in 1964.

Midsommarkransen metro station is a station on the red line of the Stockholm metro, located in the district of Midsommarkransen. The station was opened on 5 April 1964 as part of the first stretch of the Red line, between T-Centralen and Fruängen. The distance to Slussen is 4.6 km (2.9 mi). This is the last underground station in line 14 heading in the west direction.
