Whitecross Hereford High School is a mixed secondary school located in Hereford in the English county of Herefordshire.Previously a community school administered by Herefordshire Council, Whitecross Hereford High School converted to academy status in January 2013. However the school continues to coordinate with Herefordshire Council for admissions. The school moved into new buildings in 2006. Whitecross Hereford High School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils. The school also has a specialism in sports, and is an accredited sports college. The school currently has a roll of around 1000 students. A new Head Teacher, Tim Knapp was appointed in 2016. Taking over from Denise Strutt, who held the position from 2001

Herefordshire ( HERR-if-ərd-sheer, -⁠shər) is a ceremonial county in the West Midlands of England. It is bordered by Gloucestershire to the south-east, Worcestershire to the east, Shropshire to the north and the Welsh counties of Monmouthshire and Powys to the west. The city of Hereford is the largest settlement and the county town. The county is one of the most rural in England, with an area of 2,180 square kilometres (840 sq mi) and a population of 187,034, giving a density of 88/km2 (228/sq mi). After Hereford (53,112) the largest settlements are Leominster (10,938), Ross-on-Wye (10,582), and Ledbury (8,862). For local government purposes Herefordshire is a unitary authority area. The centre of Herefordshire is comparatively flat and crossed by the River Wye and its tributary, the Lugg. To the east is the Malvern Hills AONB, which straddles the boundary with Worcestershire, and the south of the county contains the northern part of the Wye Valley AONB, which stretches into Wales. In the west the ground rises to the Black Mountains range; this contains the Black Mountain (Twyn Llech), which lies on the Powys border and is the highest point in the county at 703.6 metres (2,308 ft), The county is situated in the historic Welsh Marches. The land use is mostly agricultural, and the county is known for its fruit and cider production, and for the Hereford cattle breed.

Warham is a place in the English county of Herefordshire. It is situated about 3 km west of the city of Hereford, close to the north bank of the River Wye. The population of the village at the 2011 census was 193.

Hereford Racecourse is a horse racing venue located in Hereford, Herefordshire, England, owned by Herefordshire Council and operated by Arena Racing Company. The course is almost square in shape with a circuit of about a mile-and-a-half. The first recorded race meeting was held in August 1771. The course was greatly modernised in the 1960s, with also in 1966 a photo-finish camera being installed.Having failed to obtain a new lease from the Herefordshire Council, Arena Racing Company ceased operations there in December 2012. with the final Thoroughbred race meeting being held on 16 December 2012. This ended over 240 years of racing at the course. It continued to be used for Arabian racing. It was also used by the North Herefordshire Hunt for a point to point in May 2014, two point to points in 2015, and also in 2016 when point to points were staged by the North Ledbury in April and the North Herefordshire Hunt at the end of May. The course reopened for National Hunt racing on 6 October 2016, with 3 other fixtures also scheduled. The reopening fixture was attended by a crowd of 4,500, with Rather Be, trained by Nicky Henderson winning the first race, ridden by Andrew Tinkler.In 2017 the course staged 11 National Hunt Fixtures spread between January and March and October to December. The North Herefordshire Hunt and Ledbury Point to Points were due to be staged at the course in the spring of 2017 but both were abandoned after an exceptionally dry spring led to unsafe hard ground. Two National Hunt meetings in the autumn of 2017 were transferred to Worcester after a dry late summer and autumn coupled with an inability to sufficiently water the course meant the ground was too hard to ensure safe racing ground. In 2018 the track was allocated 11 days racing and picked up an extra day in April after several meetings around the country were cancelled due to the exceptionally wet and cold spring. The North Ledbury Point to Point was held in April. That was the only Point to Point held at the course following the decision of the North Herefordshire Hunt to switch venues after the cancellation of their 2017 meeting. The North Ledbury Hunt did use the course again in 2019 however no Point to Point Racing now takes place at the racecourse and both Hunts no longer hold a Point to Point meeting.In August 2018 construction of a reservoir in the centre of the course commenced. This will enable the track to be watered without relying on a limited supply from a shared borehole. Use of the reservoir commenced in 2019.

The Racecourse Ground is a cricket ground in Hereford. The ground is located inside Hereford Racecourse and is the only remaining former first-class cricket venue in England which lies inside a racecourse. It played host to first-class and List A cricket matches for Worcestershire County Cricket Club between 1919 and 1988, and minor counties matches for Herefordshire County Cricket Club from 1992 to 1996.

Upper Lyde is a small village in Herefordshire, England, around 4 miles (6 km) north of Hereford city centre. It forms part of the Pipe and Lyde civil parish. Ruins of a timber castle can be found near the village The village can be easily accessed from the A49 road.

Belmont Rural is a civil parish in Herefordshire, England. The population of the Civil Parish taken at the 2011 Census was 3,769. It is south-west of Hereford. The name Belmont Rural was chosen because it is separate from the City of Hereford and borders open countryside on its Western boundary and has the River Wye as its Northern boundary. Belmont Rural Parish was formed 20 years ago and includes 1800 modern houses and a considerable amount of public open space. The Parish is fortunate to have two Community Centres, one of which houses a small public library. It also hosts a medium-sized Tesco Store and the Three Counties Hotel, which are the only businesses of any size in the community. It also has a Medical Centre and an adjacent Pharmacy. Belmont Rural is essentially a dormitory parish. Its residents work elsewhere or are retired. Belmont Rural does not have any schools. Generally it is a very relaxing and attractive place to live, except in the "rush" hours when the main artery the A465 is jammed with stationary traffic.

Burghill is a village and civil parish in Herefordshire, England, north-west of Hereford. The parish includes the villages of Burghill, Tillington, Portway and Eltons Marsh. It was originally a small village of farms and orchards situated on the road from Moreton-on-Lugg.

The Cider Museum is a museum in Hereford, England, about the history of cider. The museum was set up as a Trust in the 1970s by Bertram Bulmer, Norman Weston and the Director of Long Ashton Research Station, John Hudson. They realised that unless a collection was started, then much of the story of cider making would be lost. Initially, the aim was to represent the international history of cider-making, but the majority of the collections have been drawn from England and the West Country. The museum is housed in a former cider-making factory at Pomona Place in Hereford, which dates back to 1888. This was the birthplace of Bulmer's Cider. Henry Percival Bulmer started making cider in 1887 and was joined by his brother Fred from Cambridge. A year later they purchased a plot of ground on the outskirts of Hereford to build a 'shack' to make and store cider. Extensive cellars were later excavated in 1889 and the building was extended to incorporate both the factory and offices, with a grand new frontage added in the 1920s.

Stretton Sugwas ( STRET-ən SUG-əs) is a village and civil parish in Herefordshire, England, about 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of Hereford. The parish also includes the hamlet of Swainshill. The population of this Civil Parish at the 2011 census was 505. In 1087 the village was held by Roger de Lacy and consisted of two and a half hides paying geld, in demesne there was 2 ploughs, 1 villan, 9 bordars, 4 oxmen, and 2 radknights, as well as a mill rendering 32d. The village had increased in value from 40 to 50s from the time of the conquest to that of Domesday. The village lies within the ancient Hundred of Grimsworth

Widemarsh Common is a public open space in Hereford. It is owned by Herefordshire Council and is used primarily as a recreational ground for both cricket and football. It is the home pitch for Hereford Lads Club Cricket Club.It was once the location for local cider firm W.M.Evans & Co who were eventually bought by Bulmers. The location of the company premises is not entirely clear. Saint John Kemble was hanged, drawn and quartered at the common on 22 August 1679.
