The Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) is an Australian neuroscience research institute, located in Brisbane at the St Lucia campus of The University of Queensland (UQ). Founding director Professor Perry Bartlett established the QBI in 2003 with assistance from The University of Queensland, Queensland State Government, and Chuck Feeney, founder of The Atlantic Philanthropies. The purpose-built facility was commissioned in 2004 and on 19 November 2007, the building was opened by former Queensland Premier Anna Bligh.Since 2015, Professor Pankaj Sah has been Institute director. Professor Helen Cooper is the Deputy Director (Research).The Institute is one of nine institutes at The University of Queensland, including the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), the Translational Research Institute, and the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB).

The University of Queensland's Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) was established in 2003. It is one of four stand-alone research institutions at the university with more than 500 researchers, students and support staff. The inaugural Director was Peter Gray (2003 – 2015). The institute's second director, Professor Alan Rowan, commenced in 2016. The AIBN is an integrated multi-disciplinary research institute bringing together researchers in the areas of bioengineering and nanotechnology. It is home to research groups working at the interface of the biological, chemical and physical sciences, and its applications in human health and environmental issues. Notable work performed by the institute includes the needleless Nanopatch vaccine delivery device that is ready to begin human trials; local production of an experimental antibody for the treatment of the Hendra virus; and biofuel research.

The University of Queensland Bus Station, at the University of Queensland's St Lucia Campus, is served by TransLink bus routes. It is located at Chancellor Place and is one of the primary means of accessing the university by public transport, the others being by CityCat and the UQ Lakes Bus Station. It is in Zone 1 of the TransLink integrated public transport system. By 2012, about 2 million passengers were using the bus stop each year, making it one of the busiest bus stops in Brisbane.

The Queensland Theological College (QTC) is a theological college in Queensland, Australia. Based in Brisbane, it is the training college of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland and takes a Reformed Evangelical or Reformed Protestant stance. The college was established in 1876 and has been known as the Presbyterian Theological Hall, the Reformed College of Ministries and the Consortium of Reformed Colleges. It adopted its current name in 2006. The current principal is Gary Millar, who succeeded Bruce W. Winter in 2012. Millar is also the chairman of The Gospel Coalition Australia (TGCA). Other full-time lecturers at QTC include Andrew Bain (Church History), Mark Baddeley (Systematic Theology), Douglas Green (Old Testament), Nick Brennan (New Testament) and Wesley Redgen (New Testament and Greek) QTC is a member institution of the Australian College of Theology.

St Lucia is a riverside suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census St Lucia had a population of 12,574 people. The University of Queensland is the main attraction of St Lucia, with the university, and residential colleges covering a large proportion of the suburb. St Lucia is home to a diverse range of people and families. Typically, the student population of St Lucia is high, especially in dwellings in the immediate vicinity of the university, but the suburb is also home to wealthy professionals and families.

The University of Queensland R.D. Milns Antiquities Museum is a collection housed on the St Lucia campus of the university. It was built to further the study of the classical civilisations of Greece, Rome, Egypt, and the Near East by secondary students, tertiary students and researchers as well as the general public.

The Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) at the University of Queensland (UQ) is a research institute focused on understanding and implementing the principles of sustainable development through engagement with industry contacts from geology to mining, processing and disposal. In 2022, the institute was awarded more than $1.2 million in grants to develop research into sustainable resources for the mining industry. The founder, Alban Lynch, died in 2021.

The University of Queensland Anthropology Museum is located in Brisbane, Australia. It houses the largest university collection of ethnographic material culture in Australia.

The Australian Intervarsity Choral Festival is an annual event in which members of university choirs from all state capitals of Australia and the national capital Canberra meet for two weeks to rehearse, socialise and perform combined concerts. The Festival also serves as the annual conference of the member choirs of AICSA, the Australian Intervarsity Choral Societies Association

Doherty and John Harsanyi), over a hundred Olympians winning numerous gold medals, and 117 Rhodes Scholars among its alumni and former staff. UQ's alumni also include University of California, San Francisco Chancellor Sam Hawgood, the first female Governor-General of Australia Dame Quentin Bryce, former President of King's College London Ed Byrne, member of United Kingdom's Prime Minister Council for Science and Technology Max Lu, Oscar and Emmy awards winner Geoffrey Rush, triple Grammy Award winner Tim Munro, former CEO and Chairman of Dow Chemical Andrew N. Liveris, and current director of multiple organisations including IBM.

The University of Queensland Art Museum is the art museum and public gallery of the University of Queensland located in the James and Mary Emelia Mayne Centre at the St Lucia campus. The University of Queensland Art Collection is now the second largest public art collection in Queensland. The building was formerly known as Mayne Hall.

The UQ Law School is the law school of the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Founded in 1936, the school is the sixth-oldest law school in Australia and the oldest and most prestigious in Queensland. The school is currently the most-cited law school in Australia. Its alumni include six Australian High Court Justices including two Chief Justices of Australia. The entering undergraduate class typically consists of about 200 LLB students per year (the smallest cohort of students among Go8 universities), and admission is highly competitive, with minimum selection thresholds ranging around ATAR 99.00-98.00 (OP 1–2). UQ Law additionally offers LLM, MICLaw, MICLaw/MCom, MIL, MIR/MIL, MPhil and PhD degrees. Though no exact figure can be found, the total student enrolment is estimated to be 1200–1650 students (with ~500 students, about 30% of the total student cohort).The school, as part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL), works closely with several student associations including the University of Queensland Law Society Inc. (UQLS), the Justice and the Law Society (JATL) and the Australian Legal Philosophy Students Association (ALPSA).
