Canton of Malzéville

The canton of Val de Lorraine Sud is an administrative division of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department, northeastern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Maxéville.It consists of the following communes: Champigneulles Frouard Marbache Maxéville Pompey

Maxéville (French pronunciation: [maksevil] or [maʃevil]) is a commune in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in north-eastern France.

Champigneulles (French pronunciation: [ʃɑ̃piɲœl]) is a commune in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in north-eastern France. It is home to L'Arboretum de Bellefontaine. The Champigneulles brewery, founded on 20 June 1897, was for a long time the most important production site of the Société Européenne de Brasserie (SEB), which owned more than twenty production sites in France. In 1987 SEB merged with Kronenbourg Brewery. In 2006 Kronenbourg sold the site to Frankfurter Brauhaus, a German brewery in Frankfurt an der Oder. The writer and author Élise Fischer was born in Champigneulles on 13 July 1948.

The Arboretum de Bellefontaine (13 hectares) is an arboretum located in Champigneulles, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France. It contains specimens of beech, birch, chestnut, ginkgo, maple, oak, pine, sequoia, and spruce.

The canton of Nancy-Est (French: Canton de Nancy-Est) is a former French canton located in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle in the Lorraine region (now part of Grand Est). It was modified in 1879 to form the canton of Nancy-Sud, then in 1997 for the creation of the canton of Malzéville. The last general councillor from this canton was Dominique Olivier (PS), elected in 2004.

The porte Désilles (or mémorial Désilles) is a memorial gate in the French city of Nancy. It is considered to be the oldest War memorial in France. It is located on place du Luxembourg, on the northern extension of cours Léopold and the esplanade du Souvenir-Français, at the junction of rue Désilles, rue de Metz and rue de la Craffe. It was built between 1782 and 1784 to designs by the architect Didier-Joseph-François Mélin on the initiative of the Comte de Stainville, commander in chief of Lorraine. This monument was intended to close the view at the end of cours Léopold and to open a view out onto the route de Metz, as well as to provide a memorial to citizens of Nancy who had died in the American Revolutionary War, specifically during the Siege of Yorktown (1781). Its name was initially porte Saint-Louis, then porte Stainville, and finally took its present name in memory of André Désilles and his death in the Nancy affair. It was made a monument historique on 15 January 1925.

Nancy 2 University (Université Nancy 2) was a French university located in Nancy, France. It was a member of the Nancy-Université federation, a group of the three higher education institutions in Nancy. It merged with Nancy-I, Paul Verlaine University – Metz, and the INPL forming the University of Lorraine. The merger process started in 2009 with the creation of a "pôles de recherche et d'enseignement supérieur" or PRES and was completed 1 January 2012.

Laxou (French pronunciation: [laksu]) is a commune in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in north-eastern France. It is a suburb, adjacent to the west of Nancy. 2002 125cc motorcycle world champion Arnaud Vincent was born here.
