SM City North EDSA
SM City North EDSA (formerly The SM Center North EDSA and The SM City North EDSA), and colloquially known as SM North, is a large shopping mall located in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is the first SM Supermall in the country, formerly the largest shopping mall in the Philippines before IKEA opened in SM Mall of Asia in 2021 and the eleventh largest shopping mall in the world. SM City North EDSA is operated by SM Prime Holdings. It used to have a gross floor area of 120,000 square meters in the past when it was opened on November 8, 1985, a challenging period in the Philippines' political history with the EDSA Revolution just months away. The mall's redevelopment began with the opening of The Block in July 2006. Among the developments were a new Annex building which opened in December 2008 and Sky Garden which opened in May 2009. The Car Park Plaza transformed into a lifestyle center in 2009. SM City North EDSA, a work in progress with the renovation of the City Center, and the development of the North Link.
